French cruise ship moored off coast of Isle of Wight Le Bellot, off the Isle of Wight. (Image: Pamela Parker.) French cruise ship Le Bellot has been spotted off the coast of the Isle of Wight. Belonging to Ponant, the vessel, part of the the firm's Explorers series, is currently moored off Cowes. Le Bellot is named after French naval officer and Arctic explorer, Joseph Rene Bellot. It also boasts a crew of 118. According to the ship has sailed from the port of Dover. Le Bellot was also pictured off the Island in 2023.

Island vehicle ferry sailings disrupted
Passengers set to sail on a car ferry to and from the Isle of Wight are facing delays and cancellations. Red Funnel said the "technical issue" meant sailings between Southampton and East Cowes on the Isle of Wight were disrupted. Foot passengers are being advised to travel on the Southampton-West Cowes high-speed service which is unaffected. Passengers planning to travel on Monday are advised to check Red Funnel's timetable. On Saturday, passengers also faced disruption after vehicle ferry Red Eagle broke down, having just returned to service. A number of sailings were cancelled during the morning, with the ferry firm apologising for inconvenience to passengers. Drone footage and photos show scale of fire ripping through marsh
Drone footage looking down at a marsh fire and other photos taken from afar show the scale of the flames ripping through a field in Calshot. Ryan Mc managed to get a look down at the field at Calshot Marshes before the sun set, while Paul Jacobs caught Red Funnel's Red Jet sailing past in front of the flames. READ MORE: Live updates as crews rush to forest fire in Calshot In an update given to the Echo at 7.50pm, Hampshire fire said: "Crews from Hardley, Hythe, Beaulieu, Eastleigh and Ringwood are currently in attendance at a fire in a field in Calshot. Paul Jacobs managed to spot the fire three miles away with this photo. (Image: Paul Jacobs/ "Multiple calls have come into the control room to report the fire, with the initial call coming in at just before 7pm. "Firefighters are using a main jet and two hose reels to tackle the fire which is estimated to be affecting an area of around 400m x 80m."
