Remini, who shares a 20-year-old daughter, Sofia Bella, with Pagán, cited 'irreconcilable differences' in her filing. Lopez, meanwhile, pulled the plug on her union with Affleck on Aug. 20, 2024, after two years of marriage. The 'On the Floor' songstress, 55, waited to file the papers until the anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony — despite being separated from the Oscar-winning actor since April 2024. Rumors of Lopez and Remini's falling-out began swirling when the latter was notably absent from her BFF's 2022 wedding to the 'Gone Girl' star. At the time, TMZ reported that Remini was busy helping her daughter prepare for college. However, Page Six later learned that the former Scientologist skipped the ceremony because she didn't agree with Lopez's decision to wed Affleck. An insider told us that Remini warned the 'Let's Get Loud' singer to remember why she called off her first engagement to Affleck back in 2004. Per our source, Remini told Lopez that the actor was 'selfish' and 'not fully committed as a partner.' ' was so mad, she cut off all ties,' we were told. But we learned in May 2024 that the longtime friends had reconciled.

The actress famously disavowed Scientology 12 years ago and told the entertainment outlet that she is in a "in a different place" since leaving the controversial belief system. "I really retreated (after leaving Scientology)," Remini told Us. "But also not really wanting to leave the house that much. I started to come out a bit but was still careful and cautious." The "Dancing with the Stars" alum may throw caution to the wind in one place: the ballroom. She detailed her ballroom dancing hobby, shouting out her former pro, Tony Dovolani, from the dancing competition show. "Tony Dovolani made me a fan," she said of her "DWTS" partner. "I kept it going. And then my dance teacher became part of the family. He came over yesterday, brought my mom flowers. This, to me, means something. It's a meaningful relationship."

But her outspokenness has come at a price. In a new interview with Us Weekly, the King of Queens alum gave a glimpse into her life after her departure. As an example, Remini detailed that the Church's alleged harassment has extended to her 20-year-old daughter, Sofia, whom she shares with ex Angelo Pagán. 'They harass my underage daughter online,' Remini said. 'They've [used] a Scientology term that means to kill me [and] basically to erase me from the face of the earth.' Despite it all, Remini has remained strong in her advocacy, even if it having to always comfort her daughter from all the danger. 'She's constantly petrified that her phone is being tapped,' Remini said. 'I had to get her help for that, and she's OK; we got through a rough patch. It takes a toll.' Luckily, Sofia's experience with Scientology has mostly been present after their departure. 'Thankfully, I got out before she was indoctrinated, so she didn't remember a whole lot,' Remini said. 'I'm thankful I didn't have to get her into therapy to offset what they would eventually do to her, which is teach her to accept all kinds of abuse, mental, physical, you know, sexual, all of it.' Plus, Sofia is proud of her mom for speaking out. 'Very [proud],' Remini said. 'I have notes around the house saying, 'You're the strongest person I know, Mommy. Don't give up.'' "You become friends, but there's more to marriage than that. I saw that Angelo wanted something different," she said. "When you're giving what you give in a relationship, but it's not what the person wants, it's like, 'So you don't appreciate what I'm doing? Well, I don't appreciate what you're doing because that's not what I want,' " she continued. As for Lopez, her most recent relationship status change came when she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024. The couple had married in July 2022 and later hosted a ceremony in Georgia in front of friends and family that August.
