Food delivery rider dads at hospital to show support for Zara Qairina's family
KOTA KINABALU: On a scorching day, two fathers from Papar were among those who waited outside the Queen Elizabeth 1 hospital here to provide support for Zara Qairina Mahathir's family.
P-hailing food riders Mohd Fazil Arifin, 30, and Reney Jamiul, 35, from Papar were among the hundreds eager to show their concern.
"I am from Papar, and the incident (of Zara who allegedly fell from a school building) also happened in the same district. That is why I come during my breaks.
"I care about this case as I have a daughter, aged 12, who is still in school. Bullying never ends, so with this case, we want bullies to be afraid of doing anything untoward," said Fazil, who arrived at 11am.
The 13-year-old student of SMKA Tun Mustapha in Papar was found unconscious on July 16 and declared dead the following day at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Her death has raised concerns among many, including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Zara's remains arrived at the hospital at 10.30pm yesterday for a CT scan and a post-mortem.
As for Reney, he has been staying in the hospital vicinity since midnight and slept at a bus stop near the hospital.
"I am tired, of course, but I am keen to know the latest developments."
Reney said that because of Zara's case, he was afraid of sending his child to a boarding school.
The duo also printed RM25 #justiceforzara stickers to be stuck on the food container box.
Zara's post-mortem is expected to be completed today.
