No double joy to end a great campaign for Brickfield Rangers
Rangers, who lifted the Ardal North East League title a week ago, couldn't add more silverware as Porthmadog, who finished third in the North West League, deservedly took the honours. Dan Brookwell gave Porthmadog the perfect start with a second minute goal and it was 2-0 on 20 minutes as Tom Hilditch scored from the spot. Both players also netted again although Hilditch was shown a red card with 12 minutes to go. Rangers' consolation goal came from top scorer Andy Vale. While Brickfield head into Cymru North, Llay Welfare will take their place in the Ardal North set-up. And it's all change at the club where former first team boss Mike Gadie, who led Llay to Cymru North 12 months before they were relegated after one season, has taken over as chairman. And he has announced the club's new manager as Neill Hughes. 'Following our relegation back to Tier 3, it was crucial to bring in someone with a deep understanding of the league and local football scene - and Neill ticks all the boxes,' said Gadie. 'Having come up against him during our time in the Ardal North West, I was always impressed by the work rate, discipline and attitude of his sides. 'After an initial conversation and a positive meeting with myself and the vice-chairmen, it quickly became clear that Neill shares our vision for the future of the club. We're confident he's the right person to lead us into this exciting new chapter.' Hughes said: 'I am delighted to be taking on the opportunity of managing such a great club. 'Everybody I've met is passionate and proud of the Welly and what is developing. Myself and my coaching team can't wait to get started and help play a part in shaping the club's future'. In the final game of the North East Wales League season, Penyffordd Lions beat FC Queen's Park 4-1 in Group B of the Reserves Division. Matt Holmes blasted in a hat-trick in the victory.

What a way for Brickfield to make sure of Ardal title
Flairs went off as Brickfield, who only needed a point to become champions, routed Radnor Valley 6-0 at Clywedog Park. First half goals from Isaac Dawson, Aiden Fox and Tom Freeman, who scored from the spot, put Gareth Wilson's side 3-0 up at the break. And it got better in the second half with Freeman adding a second to go with goals from Jay Richardson and Callum Roberts. 'This season has been a brilliant achievement on and off the pitch,' said proud boss Wilson. 'The hard work that is put in off the field from Paul Hooson, Mike Derosa, Simon Mullen, Kev Owen and David Murray gives the platform for me and Matt Cook to compete on the pitch in a very tough league. 'Obviously and rightly so the team will get the plaudits and they fully deserve it but the 'team behind the team' have made all this happen.' The win for Rangers, who take on Porthmadog in the Ardal North Cup final next weekend, saw them finish three points clear of Bow Street while Llanuwchllyn ended up third. It was also a good day for Connah's Quay Town in an exciting climax to the North East Wales League's Reserves Division. Town clinched the Group B title and promotion to Group A with a 5-0 victory at Coedpoeth United, where both sides had a player red carded. Jon Tear-Edmonds and Lewis Harris hit doubles for Quay, whose superior goal difference pipped Lex XI to top spot. Eric Thomas was Quay's other scorer while runners-up Lex also signed off with a 5-0 away win. Their first team's top scorer Harry Massey hit a hat-trick while Sam Colley and Josh Betteley were also on target at FC Queen's Park. Greenfield will finish level on 53 points with the top two if they beat Coedpoeth at home on Tuesday night. Greenfield won 1-0 at Brymbo on Saturday with Dylan Radcliffe grabbing the winner while Penyffordd Lions were 7-1 winners at Johnstown. Jacob Melo-Farina (2), Kai Welch, Macken Tiley-Phillips, Daniel Shaw, Marcus Davies and Dylan Williams did the damage. Callum Poole replied with the hosts' consolation goal. Buckley Town brought the FAW Reserves North East League season where The New Saints were crowned champions to an end. Buckley beat Ruthin Town 3-1 thanks to Evan Lowry (2) and Daniel Horton.

Promoted Brickfield now set their sights on league title
Gareth Wilson's side held their nerve to seal a 3-0 home win over Dolgellau with captain Kiran Russell, Dom Doherty and Jay Richardson getting the goals. Llanuwchllyn finished in third spot after smashing Radnor Valley, who head to Brickfield next Saturday, 7-0. Meilir Williams - the league's top scorer - took his tally to 38 with a treble and also on the scoresheet were Ilan Hughes, Tomos Roberts, Dan Dascalu and Sam Evans. The final game in the North West League saw Corwen go down 2-1 at Trearddur Bay. Sam Henry scored for Corwen but Morgan Rowlands hit a last minute winner for fourth-placed Bay. FC Queen's Park made sure of third place in the North East Wales League's Premier Division as Mike Latham scored the only goal against Hawarden Rangers. In Group B of the Reserves Division, Greenfield's title bid suffered a blow in a 2-1 defeat at Lex for whom Cameron Thomas and George Baxter scored. Ethan Evans hit back for Greenfield but was later sent off, as was team-mate Dan Hughes. Leaders Connah's Quay Town enjoyed a 7-2 win at Johnstown where Jon Tear-Edmonds (4), Jake Williams, Scott Gibbons and Jack Collins did the damage. Rob Cooper and Dewi Reeves replied. Gruffydd Rawlinson, Kai Wright and Adam Roberts scored for FC Queen's Park in a 3-3 draw against Brymbo for whom Evan Davies (2) and Tom Potts replied. Paul Jones hit a hat-trick as Penyffordd Lions triumphed 4-2 at Coedpoeth United while Group A runners-up Rhos Aelwyd finished off with a 4-3 win at Corwen, Ryan Jenkins, Lee Hanmer, Jake Jones and Jayden Sheil getting the goals.
