What a way for Brickfield to make sure of Ardal title

Flairs went off as Brickfield, who only needed a point to become champions, routed Radnor Valley 6-0 at Clywedog Park.
First half goals from Isaac Dawson, Aiden Fox and Tom Freeman, who scored from the spot, put Gareth Wilson's side 3-0 up at the break.
And it got better in the second half with Freeman adding a second to go with goals from Jay Richardson and Callum Roberts.
'This season has been a brilliant achievement on and off the pitch,' said proud boss Wilson.
'The hard work that is put in off the field from Paul Hooson, Mike Derosa, Simon Mullen, Kev Owen and David Murray gives the platform for me and Matt Cook to compete on the pitch in a very tough league.
'Obviously and rightly so the team will get the plaudits and they fully deserve it but the 'team behind the team' have made all this happen.'
The win for Rangers, who take on Porthmadog in the Ardal North Cup final next weekend, saw them finish three points clear of Bow Street while Llanuwchllyn ended up third.
It was also a good day for Connah's Quay Town in an exciting climax to the North East Wales League's Reserves Division.
Town clinched the Group B title and promotion to Group A with a 5-0 victory at Coedpoeth United, where both sides had a player red carded.
Jon Tear-Edmonds and Lewis Harris hit doubles for Quay, whose superior goal difference pipped Lex XI to top spot.
Eric Thomas was Quay's other scorer while runners-up Lex also signed off with a 5-0 away win.
Their first team's top scorer Harry Massey hit a hat-trick while Sam Colley and Josh Betteley were also on target at FC Queen's Park.
Greenfield will finish level on 53 points with the top two if they beat Coedpoeth at home on Tuesday night.
Greenfield won 1-0 at Brymbo on Saturday with Dylan Radcliffe grabbing the winner while Penyffordd Lions were 7-1 winners at Johnstown.
Jacob Melo-Farina (2), Kai Welch, Macken Tiley-Phillips, Daniel Shaw, Marcus Davies and Dylan Williams did the damage. Callum Poole replied with the hosts' consolation goal.
Buckley Town brought the FAW Reserves North East League season where The New Saints were crowned champions to an end.
Buckley beat Ruthin Town 3-1 thanks to Evan Lowry (2) and Daniel Horton.

Tasty knockout clashes are lined up in NEWFA Cup action

The Flintshire side host Penyffordd Lions on the back of a 2-0 league win at Broughton United. 'It was a great win but it's early days so we won't get carried away,' said boss Scott Beck, whose side have won three games on the trot. 'Spirits are high in the camp. 'It's another tough game but with a strong squad available we go into the game with confidence.' Coedpoeth United's reward for winning 2-0 at Chirk AAA in the preliminary round is a trip to Johnstown. 'If we're on our game we should be confident but we all know how easy it is for standards to drop when you play a team from the league below,' said United boss Jack Pawley. 'There'll be a bit of rotation for us to keep it competitive.' After opening up with two cup wins, FC Queen's Park head to Skippy on the back of two defeats, including last Friday's 2-1 league loss at Chirk AAA. Park will be favourites to go through and so will Castell Alun if they can reproduce the form that saw them knock Llay Welfare out of the Welsh Trophy. Castell go to Caerwys while Ruabon Rovers will look to kick-start their season at home to Holywell United. Rhydymwyn head to Yr Wyddgrug while Aston Park Rangers are at home to Saltney Town. The action kicks off at Broughton United this evening with Hawarden Rangers making the short trip. There's one game in Division Two of the North East Wales League tonight with Cefn Druids at home to Sychdyn United. Meanwhile former Druids boss Jayson Starkey heads off on the road to Wembley tomorrow. Starkey has been appointed boss across the border at Whitchurch Alport, who host Runcorn Linnets in the FA Cup preliminary round. Vauxhall Motors, who are managed by former Connah's Quay Nomads defender Danny Holmes, head to Wythenshawe.

Keep on moving is Quay boss Disney's message to Oswell!

Oswell, the former Wrexham striker, made the move to Connah's Quay from relegated Newtown over the summer and he has been in fine goal-scoring form for Nomads in pre-season matches. Team boss Disney told the club's X site: 'A constant threat in the box and I think again that's what we've got to work on. 'So, we're working towards our patterns of what we're looking to do and how we load the box when Jason's in there, because, you know, you speak to the players that have played against him within the league and even higher, and, you know, he's played in the Football League. 'He moves in the box constantly and I think very good strikers do that. I think he's been a really good addition around the place. 'He's a really good professional. He's a good player. He gets on the end of all the crosses and he brings other people into play. 'So, yeah, really positive with Jason. I think we knew what we were going to get and I think his movement... you can't match it when you're in the box.' Nomads have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Callum West. Having come through the academies at Burnley and Barnsley, West went on to make senior appearances with Macclesfield, Hyde United and Hebburn Town. West will be a part of Quay's new hybrid first team model. Disney told the club's website: 'Callum is a player who I first saw playing for Macclesfield at 16 and caught my eye right away with his fantastic left foot and was rightfully rewarded a full time move to Burnley. 'Callum also made his senior professional debut at Barnsley last season and is another very versatile player with wonderful fitness levels. Callum has had three years in full time football and once the opportunity to become a full time player here arose it was something he and his family wanted to commit to.' Nomads will continue their pre-season preparations with a friendly trip to Lower Breck tomorrow. Flint Town United have confirmed they have received formal offers from EFL clubs for Isaac Lee. 'Permission has been granted for him to hold talks with all parties involved,' said a club statement. 'Further announcements will be made in due course.' Lee Fowler's Silkmen, who drew 1-1 with Llay Welfare in midweek, are in friendly action at home to Avro tomorrow. Holywell Town have bolstered their squad ahead of next weekend's Cymru North kick-off. James Stead has made a move to the Wellmen. A composed and intelligent midfielder, Stead is sure to bring quality on the ball and he will add depth to boss Johnny Haseldin's options in the middle of the park. In addition, striker Oli Buckley has returned for a second spell at Holywell. He previously enjoyed a two-year stint with Town between 2021 and 2023. There's no Welsh League Cup action for Holywell this weekend and they will host NFA in a friendly tomorrow. In midweek, Ieuan Hewitt netted for the Wellmen in a 1-1 draw versus Llanrwst. Tomorrow's friendlies: Liver Academy v Hawarden Rangers; Llangollen Town v Ruabon Rovers; Llansantffraid v Rhostyllen; Llay Welfare v Capenhurst Villa; Penycae v Whitchurch Alport; Wythenshawe v Airbus. Sunday: Chirk AAA U19s v Corwen Reserves.
