All Neighbours spoilers for next week as legend's exit story begins
Neighbours is lining up a huge return next week as Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) receives marching orders from Lassiters Hotel. After pitting Krista Tanaka (Majella Davis) against Annalise Hartman (Kimberley Davies), and eventually admitting that he's lining up the latter for a full time managerial position, he's been playing with fire for quite some time. The arrival of sister Lucy (Melissa Bell) sparks new trouble when she discovers that he's embezzled $300,000 out of the hotel company accounts to bail partner Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) out of her financial woes. After some harsh words, Paul is told under no uncertain terms that he must keep his distance from the business. Is this the end of an era? The affair drama ramps up when Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) lures Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) into her bed, and his wife Wendy (Candice Leask) comes dangerously close to finding out. Plus, there's heartbreak for Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) when boyfriend Rhett Norman (Liam Maguire) announces his intention to move to the other side of the country. For all the latest Neighbours goss, read on… Nell tells JJ she needs space from him, and he apologises for overstepping. He's still not convinced that the way he spoke to her was the reason she freaked out, and she offers her own apology to throw him off the sent. When admits that she misses Toadie and Hugo, and wants to spend some time with them in Colac, JJ reassures her that he'll be there upon her return and their relationship is back on steady ground once more. Next door, Karl and Susan make a promise to Remi that they will organise a mediation session for her with Cara. Together they come to an agreement to be more respectful of one another's boundaries and feelings for the sake of JJ and Dex. For the first time in a while, they're finally on a united front and offer an apology to the family for neglecting them. Elsewhere, Nicolette is ready to take charge at Yorokobi and Leo is seriously impressed with her work ethic. The two chat about the future, where she mentions being open to the idea of having another baby within the next few years. Leo agrees that David would've supported the idea. Little does she realise, a big problem is about to hit the family. Jane returns home from Byron's farewell trip and makes amends with Abby and Isla. Aaron is so pleased that things are looking up and decides to tell Rhett that he loves him – but the gesture isn't reciprocated. He begins to spiral, and during Jane and Nic's attempt to clear the air, Rhett admits that he simply didn't hear him. The two are happier than ever before, that is, until, Rhett announces that Tilly and her mum are moving to Adelaide, and he wants to join them. Aaron is heartbroken by Rhett's decision, and thrown when he suggests he, Nicolette and Isla join them. He wants to consider the idea, but Nic knows that it would break Jane's heart so soon after losing Byron. Rhett throws a lifeline, suggesting that Aaron splits his time between Adelaide and Erinsborough, but Jane can see that this brings an end to Nicolette co-parenting with him. Jane drops hint of the doubt to Aaron, and he decides that Ramsay Street will be his home base. Elsewhere, Holly is desperate for Andrew's attention and decides to set up another fake encounter with Gavin Bowman. He's concerned for her safety and assures her he'll handle the case personally, but is left confused by Bowman's solid alibi. Holly is frustrated by how chaotic No. 28 is and how reluctant Andrew is to pursue their relationship, so decides to check into Lassiters for the night. Andrew arrives to confront her about her lies, and she makes a heartfelt plea for him to acknowledge the spark between them. He leaves, but later returns and sweeps her into the bed. Plus, the Kennedys face a series of interruptions when they plan for some alone time using Karl's new adult dice game. Bring on the blue box! Finally, Susan puts her foot down and ensures they have an enjoyable afternoon together. Krista is pleased that the Jewellery Expo is on track even in Annalise's absence. She even tells Leo that she thinks she and Annalise could work well together. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The hotel drama ramps up ahead of Lucy's imminent arrival and Paul wants to keep her away from seeing the quarterly reports. Terese clocks his evasiveness and he's forced to admit that he 'borrowed' 300k from the company to bail her out so that she didn't have to sell Power Road. She points out that he could go to jail for embezzlement, and as the two bicker over the idea of making the money back by quickly selling the land, Leo overhears. Elsewhere, Wendy prepares a romantic meal for Andrew to celebrate the reveal of her entry into the jewellery competition, unaware that he's tangled in the bedsheets with Holly. He arrives home and finds the meal packed away, and Wendy chooses not to make a big deal out of it. The next day, he's riddled with guilt – even more so when Holly sends through a racy picture that his wife almost sees. Later, Andrew confronts Holly and asserts that what happened was a one-off. He heads home and sets up a romantic surprise for Wendy, who is overjoyed. Holly, sat in the garden next door, overhears their laughter and breaks her heart. Leo wants an explanation and isn't satisfied by what Paul tells him. He agrees not to tell Krista, but wants dad to come clean himself. Annalise arrives back in town accompanied by Lucy, having been brought up to speed on his recent antics. Krista is called away from them by Leo, who tells her all about the missing money. She wants to see things from Paul's perspective, but isn't sure whether she can look past it. She even spells out to Annalise that her managerial position relies solely on a condition she's given to Paul. Annalise will come on board – but he must step back entirely from the hotel. Lucy is suspicious, and after a night spent with Krista, Leo and Annalise at the penthouse, heads to Ramsay Street to confront her brother. She's fed up, and he has no other option but to reveal the truth. Shocked, Lucy declares that Paul is banned from Lassiters and the Jewellery Expo henceforth. More Trending Elsewhere, Wendy asks Andrew to model her bling so that she can compete with the other entrants on social media, but he's too self-conscious. Another major Neighbours star exits months before show finale
Neighbours has confirmed the exit of Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) after 10 years. The character, who first arrived in June 2015, will depart our screens on 1st September. Metro understands that Matt signed on the dotted line to appear throughout Amazon Prime Video's original slate of commissioned episodes, though he couldn't commit to the lifeline dealt to producers Fremantle Media, which will see the show extended to December. Very sadly, the Australian soap will not continue beyond this point, being axed for the third time in 40 years. Aaron, the brother of established character Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), was specially created for Matt, who originally auditioned for the part of their other brother Tyler, who would eventually be portrayed by Travis Burns. During his time on Ramsay Street, the character has been at the centre of several huge storylines, most notably being part of the first gay couple to marry on Australian television in 2018. In more recent years, he's been stalked by a former colleague, dealt with the loss of husband David Tanaka (Takaya Honda), and, having finally decided to start dating again, been at the centre of a love triangle. First, there was real estate agent Rhett Norman (Liam Maguire), who caught Aaron's eye when they were training for the charity Boylesque performance at The Waterhole. After crossing paths on multiple occasions and a number of enjoyable dates, Rhett moved on with a new fella. Enter Colton Keys (Jakob Ambrose), a mysterious newbie who was holidaying in Hamilton Island at the same resort as Aaron. The two immediately hit it off, but Aaron decided to lead a double life by using a pseudonym and choosing not to disclose his past. After the two slept together, Colton picked up a wallet off the floor and found a picture of the Brennan-Tanaka clan. He was furious, and ordered Aaron to keep his distance for the rest of the trip. However, the idea of something more serious was clearly playing on his mind and he moved to Erinsborough to take up a temporary manager's position at the Eirini Rising retirement complex. This was conveniently at the same time that a newly single Rhett resurfaced, and he found himself torn between the two men. Rhett then dealt a troubling ultimatum. He had decided that the time had come for Aaron to choose, and hoped that his commitment would lie with him. And it did! The two have been an item since, and look set to depart together. Images from the episodes leading up to their exit show the couple cosying up together, clearly looking worried or concerned. Could this be that Nicolette Stone (Hannah Monson) – who is the mother of Aaron's daughter Isla – is putting a stop to their plans? Later, we see her having a heart-to-heart with mum Jane Harris (Annie Jones), and another snap shows Nic comforting Aaron. He's also seen arguing with Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) and Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall), who kick off a huge affair this week when they kiss by the rotunda. Does Aaron discover the infidelity? Finally, pretty much everyone in Erinsborough can be seen gathering to throw them a farewell party, with the street decked out in paper hot air balloon lanterns. There are also children's games chalked onto the road and tables with popcorn and sweet dispensers on them. Before getting into his car with Rhett, Aaron hugs father-in-law Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), before also embracing Nic, Jane, and Isla. It's going to be a tearful farewell! Matt hasn't directly addressed his exit online, though fans have speculated about him leaving for quite some time. He and his wife Jessica have moved interstate, renovating a house together in Noosa, which is on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We do know that he will be reprising his part, alongside Liam Maguire and love rival Jakob Ambrose for the final episodes. 'This show has not only given me friends and family that I'll cherish forever, it's been a real beacon of hope for me,' he told Metro, when the show wrapped filming in July. 'Seeing so many extremely talented creatives work in unison so seamlessly, has made me believe that with the perfect blend of people – anything is possible in this industry.' This week, Xavier Molyneux ended his time as Byron Stone and is set to appear in a new Viking based drama, Bloodaxe, which coincidentally will stream on Prime Video. The day after Aaron and Rhett leave, Paul's estranged daughter, Elle, now played by actress Elise Jansen, will arrive. She will be part of the regular cast for the last three months. 'Growing up, it was my favourite show,' Elise told the Sydney Morning Herald. 'And to think that now I've been able to be on it is quite extraordinary.' More Trending Originally portrayed by Pippa Black, the character was last seen in a Zoom call with her father in 2022, following her initial four-year stint from 2005. A familiar face strolling into the Lassiters Complex at the end of August is Sam Kratz, portrayed by former Emmerdale star Richard Grieve. Sam was a fixture between 1994 and 1996, making a brief return for the 20th anniversary celebrations in 2005. He will come back to try and rekindle his marriage to Annalise Hartman (Kimberley Davies). View More » Neighbours streams for free, Monday to Thursday from 7am on Amazon Prime Video. ‘So this is it': Neighbours confirms major story ending
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Neighbours has confirmed the conclusion of Aaron Brennnan's (Matt Wilson) love triangle story. The Ramsay Street legend has been torn between two men for weeks now, with his friends and family each having their own favourite. Quite the predicament! First there was real estate agent Rhett Norman (Liam Maguire), who first caught Aaron's eye when they were training for the charity Boylesque performance at The Waterhole. Sparks flew, but it became apparent that there was something holding the couple back. Aaron decided that it was too soon after husband David Tanaka's (Takaya Honda) death for him to start dating again, and he called time on their brief romance. After crossing paths on multiple occasions, and a number of enjoyable dates, Rhett moved on with a new fella. Enter Colton Keys (Jakob Ambrose), a mysterious newbie that was holidaying in Hamilton Island at the same resort as Aaron. Over the last month, Aaron has explored a casual relationship with them both, and almost ruined things when he accused both a newly-single Rhett and Colton of getting with one another! The atmosphere was frosty (which is unusual for Melbourne), but things soon thawed out. Last week, Rhett dealt a troubling ultimatum. He had decided that the time had come for Aaron to choose, and hoped that his commitment would lie with him. As the above video shows, Rhett arrived at No. 24 for his decision. The pair agreed that they were at the same stage in life as single fathers, and they should stop denying the overwhelming connection between them both. 'So this is it!' After spending the night together, Aaron went to break the bad news to a disappointed Colton. The two parted ways with a kiss, just as Rhett strolled in. Uh-oh. In today's instalment, Rhett was unconvinced when Aaron pleads his innocence, and became adamant that they're not on the same page after all. More Trending Colton could see how much the men clearly cared for one another, and decided to play Cupid. After laying their cards on the table, Aaron and Rhett were finally united – and this could just be their happily ever after. Metro understands that Matt Wilson will be departing his role after 10 years later in the summer. Could Aaron and Rhett leave for pastures new together? Kindergarten is the cut off for children waiting for public speech-language therapy
The clock is ticking for parents of young children requiring speech-language therapy in Newfoundland and Labrador. Seventy speech-language pathologists (SLP) are handling cases on a full-time basis, with an additional seven SLPs working casually for Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services in eastern Newfoundland. Eleven of those work in child development — the unit where most children on the province's waitlist for speech-language assessments and treatment sit. Kelsey Oake, who lives in Triton, N.L., says her three-year-old son, Rhett, has been waiting for speech-language therapy and an autism assessment since he was 18 months old. "We started noticing that he had traits of autism," Oake said. "We kind of tried to be proactive." Now, she said, Rhett is three, and in the fall of 2027 he will start kindergarten. That means Oake has 26 months for her son to be diagnosed and receive treatment before he will age out of the public health-care system's waitlist for speech-language therapy. Oake already waited up to 14 months for an initial speech-language evaluation, she said. Now her son has to wait up to 20 months for treatment and up to 31 months for an autism assessment. If Rhett starts school without any treatment, Oake expects her son to struggle. "From what I've gathered, from other people who have similar situations, is that without a proper diagnosis he won't have support aids in school," Oake said. "My son has a form of aggression issues. Like if he ends up doing that towards other children, there won't be like an IRT or student support there with him." Oake said her only option to guarantee her son additional support is to go through the private system for treatment and a diagnosis, but she doesn't have insurance and can't afford it out of pocket. "It's a very hefty bill. I know some places offer payment plans, which is wonderful for people who are in my situation. But, like, I don't feel that a mother or anybody who's in my situation should have to literally bring themselves to the brink of bankruptcy just to get their child seen," she said. Amelia Hickey knows the struggle of paying for private care. Her four-year-old daughter has autism. She receives speech-language therapy privately — a decision Hickey made to ensure her daughter gets treatment before starting kindergarten in 2026. "We are fortunate we have health insurance. However, it's June, and our health insurance maxed out last month, which means that we are now spending the money directly out of pocket," Hickey said. Her daughter is on the waitlist for speech-language therapy through NLHS. She received a speech-language assessment during what Hickey said was called "an assessment blitz." "They basically just assessed everybody who had been on the waitlist at that point," Hickey told CBC News. "After you do that, it's 18 to 24 months. So she'll never actually see [a] Janeway speech language pathologist, essentially." With her diagnosis, Hickey's daughter will see an SLP in school, but it won't replace her private care because of their caseload numbers. "My daughter will have to miss school, and then I'll have to miss work to be able to continue to take her to these appointments when it should be available to her through the system," Hickey said. In the provincial legislature last month, Health Minister Krista Lynn Howell said, "Once a teacher or support person identifies that a child has a particular need, then supports can be put in place immediately." Hickey said that's not the case. "There are situations I know of where parents send their kid to school, and they're only allowed to go to school an hour a day," she said. "How do you, as a parent, maintain a job and do all the other things if you have other children, if one of your children can only go to school for an hour a day?" Hampton Roads infant with rare genetic disorder in critical need of liver donor
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Infant Rhett Powell will celebrate his first birthday Friday, but his parents are hoping to give him something far greater than a toy; they want him to have the gift of life. Rhett was diagnosed at just two months' old with a rare genetic disorder, Alagille Syndrome. Only about 1 in every 30,000 babies are born with the condition, according to the National Institutes of Health. His mother, Jenna, never imagined Rhett would be part of that statistic. At 10 months, doctors revealed his condition was compounded with liver disease and his parents also learned he would need a liver transplant. 'There's also a lot of risk with the transplant,' she says. 'And we know that the risk of a transplant outweighs keeping his liver the way it is. So, there's a mix of emotions: sadness, happiness, excitement, nervousness, all of the above. Alagille Syndrome is known to cause narrowed and malformed bile ducts in the liver, which is one of Rhett's toughest hurdles. His condition causes jaundice, issues with his heart and eyes, and itching so severe that he scratches until he bleeds. His blood is also highly acidic. Jenna says Rhett only weighs 16 lbs. and is on a feeding tube. His father was left with no choice but to quit his job as he can't crawl or move on his own. For the past two months, Jenna has been searching high and low for a liver donor who could be her baby boy's perfect match. 'His perfect match would be someone that has B or O blood type,' she says. 'Negative or positive, it doesn't matter. There would need to be aged around, 18 to 60. Nonsmoker, someone with no major organ diseases or preexisting conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. No major abdominal surgeries; no illicit drug use. And someone that is willing to do that.' If you think you may be a match or know of someone who could be a match, you can contact Jenna Powell at (757) 556-5182. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
