Fears for Kelly Clarkson over ‘painful' personal issues
Kelly Clarkson has experienced a clear-minded 'moment of clarity' following the personal issues that saw her abruptly leave her talk show, sources tell Page Six. The 43-year-old singer left the set of The Kelly Clarkson Show for almost two weeks back in March but has yet to discuss the reasons why publicly. Fans were told only that she was dealing with a 'private matter,' and have been left baffled since. 'This has all been very painful for her,' revealed an industry insider who has worked closely with Clarkson. 'The difficulty is that Kelly, like all of us, wants to be liked, and she had to deal with this new moment in her life. She knew she had to step down for a minute.' A host of stars were quickly drafted in to cover for the star, ranging from Andy Cohen to Wanda Sykes and Brooke Shields, as the insider told Page Six, 'She has her priorities, and her family comes first, but I think she's been humbled by the whole situation … what has happened has given her a moment of clarity, I think. The turmoil came after things seemed to be finally settling back down in Clarkson's life following her very public divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8. 'Kelly grew up without a father, and she had an incredible love story with Brandon,' added a friend. 'She is a compassionate and caring person, and what has happened [recently] has helped her to move beyond the divorce.' Clarkson has been candid about just how much the 2020 split after seven years of marriage and following legal battle took out of her, telling Apple Music in 2023, 'Just to be brutally honest, I did not handle [the divorce] well.' Things were made more difficult as Blackstock, 48 — stepson of country music star Reba McEntire — was also his spouse's manager and one of the architects of her fortune. Indeed, as Page Six previously reported, he masterminded her multi-million TV deal with NBC. The star was paid in the range of $10 million per season as a coach on The Voice, we're told, and is believed to get even more for hosting her show — a deal also brokered by Blackstock. 'The irony is that he's had a very positive influence on her life; he made these phenomenal deals for her, and she wouldn't be here without him. But it's hard to be a manager and a husband,' said the industry insider, 'At the time, she greatly appreciated what he had done for her career.' Clarkson abruptly left her show on March 3 and returned on March 18. Two days later, on the show's 1,000th episode, she was close to tears as she celebrated, telling viewers, 'We've created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs … A lot of ups and downs personally as well.' America took down-home Clarkson from Fort Worth, TX, to its collective heart from the minute she stepped into the audition room to sing for Simon Cowell on the debut season of 'American Idol' in 2002. She ended up winning the whole show, beating curly-haired runner-up Justin Guarini. Clarkson went on to sell over 28 million albums and become one of the most successful singers of her generation, before turning her sights to daytime TV in 2019. Her genuine warmth and friendliness have grown a loyal audience season after season. 'She is immensely talented and good at what she does, but she definitely had opinions about the music she sang, the music her contestants sang, she kept in touch with every single contestant, she took it very seriously, she had a relationship with each of them. 'She is totally invested, whether it was wardrobe or music or promo,' said an industry insider. During the show's run, viewers have noticed Clarkson undergo a physical transformation, losing a huge amount of weight since moving her kids' home base from Tennessee to NYC, where she tapes the show. Clarkson, who is 5'3″, told guest Whoopi Goldberg last May she had weighed 203 pounds and admitted using a weight loss medication – not Ozempic – after her doctor 'chased me down for two years' about it, because her blood work was bad, revealing she was pre-diabetic. She's also been working with celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger. Alongside the daytime show, Clarkson this year launched her own music label, High Road Records, and is set to embark on a Las Vegas residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions, kicking off at Caesars Palace on July 4. She will sing 18 performances and finish on November 15. All of this – and dealing with her personal issues – means questions are abounding about how much longer she will host her talk show. As we previously revealed, she plans to call it a day when her contract runs out in 2026, at the end of Season 7. It may seem strange as The Kelly Clarkson Show averages a million viewers per day — an increase from fall 2023 — and consistently ranks as one of the nation's top syndicated talk shows. Despite this, a TV source said the show is expensive to produce. 'It's a tough job and profit margins are low,' they said. NBC, meanwhile, wants to ensure Clarkson isn't burned out or bummed out by the network and still available to host holiday specials like Christmas in Rockefeller Center. 'She knows her limits, even on 'The Voice', when she was working so hard, she knew when she needed a refresh – that's what you're seeing now,' said the industry insider. 'She is a very feeling, sensitive person, as you see on the talk show, and that's both in her personal and professional life.

Natalie Joy ‘Clocked' Passenger On Plane, And Says She Had A Very Good Reason
is not here for rude passengers. The model and wife of "Bachelor" alum is opening up about a tense but surprisingly humorous encounter with a fellow airline passenger who criticized the couple's 15-month-old daughter, River Rose, during a recent flight. On the latest episode of "The Viall Files" podcast, Natalie Joy recounted the moment she confronted a woman seated in front of them in business class after catching her texting complaints about their toddler. 'We've not left the gate, and I clocked the woman in front of me,' Joy began. 'Y'all know I love an eavesdrop phone read on an airplane.' Joy explained that although she initially thought the woman would be friendly, 'we made eye contact as we were boarding," things quickly took a turn once the woman pulled out her phone. According to Joy, River wasn't crying but was in a particularly 'talkative' mood. Still, that didn't stop the woman from taking issue with their child's presence in her personal texts. 'She starts typing to her friends, 'There's some young couple behind me in business class with their around-year-old kid screaming up a storm. The kind of people who think it's cute. They need to learn how to quiet their kid down,'' Joy claimed. That's when Joy couldn't help but notice a little something extra in the text, a spelling mistake. The woman had written 'there' instead of 'their.' 'As she's finishing her text, I lean up and tap her on the shoulder, and I said, 'It's t-h-e-i-r,'' Joy recalled, adding that the woman reacted with a slight huff and turned away without saying much else. But the moment didn't end there. 'She brings out her phone, same level, same brightness, same text size, and starts going, 'She just confronted me about a spelling error. She's reading my text from behind me. LOL. I respect it,'' Joy shared, visibly amused. In fact, Joy admitted she was ultimately 'impressed' by the woman's ability to take the moment in stride. 'She owned it. I have to give her credit for that,' she said. Meanwhile, Viall said he had no idea any of it was happening at the time. 'I was completely oblivious,' the new dad admitted on the podcast. The couple, who tied the knot in April 2024, welcomed River Rose just two months prior, in February. Since becoming parents, both Viall and Joy have been candid about their journey, including the heartbreak they've experienced. On the January 29 episode of "The Viall Files" podcast, the model shared that she was in the middle of a miscarriage. "I've been trying to be a good mom to River and come and do my job, whether it's on the podcast or on social media for the past week," Joy began, holding back tears. "And currently, as I sit here today, I'm actively miscarrying our second child, and it has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life." Fighting through emotion, Joy reflected on how the loss has left her feeling hollow. "I've never experienced something where I feel so empty inside," she said before recalling her sister's experience with multiple miscarriages, twelve in total, and how it gave her perspective on the emotional toll that so many women face. "You feel sad and you wanna be there for these people," she said, "but you don't really know the loss that they feel until you go through it yourself." Joy, who has been candid in the past about both her motherhood experience and personal growth, shared that her heartbreak is amplified by the challenge of balancing grief with the joyful demands of parenting. "I want River to be able to watch this back and see her parents' love for her sibling that could have been here," she said. 'I just feel dead inside. And it sucks because I have to be so alive for River. You know? I have to be silly and goofy and funny and play with her.' Her voice breaking, Joy turned to Viall and admitted she felt torn between grieving and being present. 'And then I have this overwhelming guilt that when I'm with you, I can't also do that,' she said. 'I'm sad that the only version of me you get right now is this broken person, and I'm sorry for that.'

Kelly Clarkson's daughter is all grown up as she steps in as ‘mini-producer' for mom's talk show
Kelly Clarkson's 10-year-old daughter, River Rose, looked so grown up when she acted as a 'mini-producer' on her mom's eponymous talk show. 'My daughter is here today,' Clarkson said on the April 2 episode of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.' 'Oh my God, you have a mic and everything. You're so fancy,' Clarkson added while looking over at River Rose, who stood with the rest of the show's producers. 'Oh my God, I love it. You're like a little mini-producer.' The 'American Idol' winner asked her daughter to come closer to the stage so the crowd could see her attire, and Clarkson said that River Rose looked just like showrunner Alex Duda, whom she was shadowing for the day. 'They did not plan it,' Clarkson said as Duda also came to the stage. Duda and River Rose both sported light sweatshirts and black leggings. 'We came to work today and all of a sudden I looked at Alex, and I was like, 'Can you stand up? What are you wearing?' And y'all, they didn't call each other,' Clarkson said. 'They just happened to wear the same thing. But Alex is letting River shadow her today, so she's been to all the meetings this morning like an adult. Yes, she's very professional, she told us.' Then, when Clarkson was interviewing Whitney Cummings on her show, Cummings said she learned an interesting detail about Clarkson and River Rose's mother-daughter dynamic. 'OK, so I was interrogating River earlier, and my favorite was, I said, 'What's the thing that annoys your mom the most?' What do you think it is?' Cummings shared while looking at Clarkson. 'Is it when she calls me Kelly?' Clarkson guessed. 'Yes! That's what it was!' Cummings shouted while jumping out of her chair, which made the audience laugh. 'That's what it was!' At that point, River Rose hilariously told her mom that it was time to go on break. However, Cummings and Clarkson thought she meant that it was time for the talk show host to take a break from working. 'Oh I just got what she — it says break,' Clarkson laughed while looking at a sign that told her to go to commercial. 'I thought she said, 'Mommy needs a break.' And I thought, 'That's so kind,' but no, she's telling me that I need to go to break. 'That's cool. I got a leader. She's going to rule the world one day, y'all,' she added.

A Source Reacted To Reports Of "Tensions Behind The Scenes" Of "The Kelly Clarkson Show"
A source reacted to recent rumors surrounding The Kelly Clarkson Show. If you missed it, Kelly recently sparked concern after being absent from the show for nearly two weeks. Guest hosts filled in for her as sources told Entertainment Tonight that Kelly was away dealing with an undisclosed "family emergency." She returned to the show on March 18 after 10 episodes but notably did not share why she was out. Fast forward to this week, when the Daily Mail released a report claiming insiders have reported seeing "a dramatic change" in Kelly's behavior since returning to the show, fueling "tensions behind the scenes." They claimed Kelly was once friendly, chatty, and "accessible," taking a genuine interest in their lives. "She'd stand at your desk and just talk," an alleged staff member said. "Ask about your life. She knows the names of everyone's husbands and kids and would ask about them by name." But now, they say, things are different. "It's just a very weird vibe now," one reported employee said. "We're all walking on eggshells," said another. However, a source has pushed back on their claims. The insider told Entertainment Tonight, "Kelly is back to herself and all seems relatively back to normal." It comes days after Kelly shared her frustrations about being unable to attend her kids' school events during the week due to work obligations. She has two children, 10-year-old daughter River Rose and 8-year-old son Remington Alexander, with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. "Our kids don't understand, and we just look like assholes when we're not there," she told Kylie Kelce on her Not Gonna Lie podcast. "Then they go, 'Why was this mom there?' And then you have to say, 'Because that kid got a better mom,'" she teased.
