UAE-Based Indian Businessman Kidnapped While on Holiday
Kerala Police have rescued UAE-based Indian businessman VP Shameer, who was kidnapped on Tuesday night while on vacation in his hometown in southern India.
The dramatic rescue came just days after the abduction, which was part of a Rs 10.5 million ransom plot. Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
Riyaz Kilton, Chairman of the International Promoters Association (IPA) — a UAE-based network of Keralite entrepreneurs of which Shameer is a member — confirmed the news.
'I just spoke to his wife, and she told me the police informed them that he was found safe,' Kilton said over the phone from New Delhi, where he is currently travelling.
Police are still investigating the motive and possible links behind the kidnapping.
