A child has been seriously injured and two others hurt after a crash on a busy motorway. Emergency services were called around 4pm on Tuesday, after a black DS 4 and a grey Toyota Yaris were involved in a crash on the northbound carriageway near junction 9 for Letchworth, in Hertfordshire. One child, who was a passenger in the DS 4, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Two further occupants of the car, along with the driver of the Toyota, sustained minor injuries. Sergeant Luke Morley, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: 'Our enquiries are continuing, and I am urging anyone with information to please come forward. 'Did you witness what happened, or have any further information to assist the investigation? "If you have dash cam footage in relation to the collision, please upload this via DAMS. 'Finally, I would like to thank members of the public that stopped and provided first aid until emergency services arrived, and for their co-operation while road closures were in place.'

A 46-year-old man was hospitalised with "serious injuries" following a crash involving a van on Wednesday, May 14. A pedestrian was left with "serious injuries" following a crash involving a van in Ayr last week. Emergency services were called to the scene on Beresford Terrace at the junction with Parkhouse Street following the incident at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 14. ‌ A 46-year-old man, the pedestrian, was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were described as "serious" as a result of the crash which involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro. ‌ The van driver, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released pending further enquiries. Police are now appealing for information and dash cam footage to help establish the full circumstances of the crash. Constable Ashleigh MacLachlan of the Road Policing Unit said: 'Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. 'I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash who hasn't already spoken to officers to get in touch. 'I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.' ‌ A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: 'Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Ayr. 'The incident happened around 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 14, on Beresford Terrace at its junction with Parkhouse Street involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van. "Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. ‌ "The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in connection and later released pending further enquiries. "Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3390 of May 14."

The driver and passenger of the car were unhurt in the collision. A teenage motorcylist who died after a collision between a bike and Renault Clio near a cemetery has been named by police. Luc Trainer, 18, from the Newton area of Wick was taken to Caithness General Hospital following the accident on April 30 where he later died. ‌ The driver and passenger of the car were unhurt. ‌ The collision happened on the B874 near Wick at around 10.25pm. Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Road Policing Unit, Dingwall, said: 'We are supporting Luc's family at this very difficult time. They are very much in our thoughts. 'If you have any information that may assist officers with their investigation, please call 101 quoting incident number 4119 of Wednesday, 30 April, 2025.'
