Motorcyclist pronounced dead at scene after crash
A MOTORCYCLIST was pronounced dead at the scene after a road traffic collision incident reported during Sunday morning. Dorset Police received a report of a road traffic collision on the A35 in Winterbourne Abbas involving two motorcycles. The police attended the incident at 9.12am on Sunday, August 10. Road closures were put in place as emergency services responded to the incident. The road was closed between Winterbourne Abbas and the Monkeys Jump roundabout near Poundbury in Dorchester. Dorset Police have confirmed a 74-year-old man from Exmouth in Devon was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The road remains closed for specialist officers to examine the scene. Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Roads Policing Team, said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died in this collision. 'We know there were a large number of witnesses to this incident, and I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward. 'Also, I am keen to speak to any motorists who captured dashcam footage of the manner of driving of other motorists involved or of the moments leading up to the collision to please contact us. You may have vital information to assist our enquiries. 'Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures are in place.' Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision in Cornwall
A motorcyclist in his 70s has been seriously injured in a collision at Boyton near Launceston, police said. Devon and Cornwall Police said the collision took place on Saturday and emergency services were called just after 14:00 said the man had sustained life-changing injuries and he was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air said the collision on the B3254 involved a red Honda and a motorcycle and officers from the Roads Policing Team closed the road for five hours for investigative work at the scene. They appealed for anyone with any relevant information, including dashcam footage, to come forward.

Police appeal after pedestrian injured in Poole
Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 60s was injured in a collision with a car in Poole. It happened on Friday on Constitution Hill Road, near to the junction with Jellicoe Close and involved a grey Nissan Qashqai car. Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening. Police Constable Dan Yates, of the Roads Policing Team, said: 'We are conducting enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision. 'I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or any motorists who were in the area and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.' Driver dies in crash near Dorset business park
A driver has died after his car crashed near a business park near Holton Heath in Dorset. Police were called to Wareham Road at 5.30am on Sunday June 1st, following reports of a collision between the Bakers Arms Roundabout and the entrance to the Romany Business Park, involving a silver Ford Fiesta Flight. Emergency services attended and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. There were no passengers in the vehicle. Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a detailed examination of the collision scene to be carried out. Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: 'Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the man who very sadly died in this collision. 'We are continuing to carry out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened. 'I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage or doorbell CCTV in the local area, to please make contact with us.

Woman dies after car crashes into ditch
A woman has died after she suffering serious injuries in a crash last week. Emergency services were called at 3.37pm on March 27 to Meadow Lane in Lathom, near Ormskirk, to a report of a crash. Lancashire Police officers arrive to find a Suzuki Splash car had left the road and crashed into a ditch at the side of the road. The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Officers are appealing for dashcam footage as enquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding which led to the crash. They are being supported by specially trained officers. 'This collision happened in a rural location, and we are trying to find out why the car left the carriageway and when it happened.
