Zac Efron's lookalike brother Dylan hints at major career change as he joins his Traitors co-stars at Variety TV FYC Fest
Zac Efron 's lookalike brother Dylan hinted at a major career change as he joined his Traitors co-stars at Variety's FYC TV Fest in Hollywood on Wednesday. The star, 33, works behind the scenes as a production coordinator and has been involved in many projects, including American Sniper, Live by Night and Ready Player One. In January, he made his reality TV debut on the third season of The Traitors US, which saw Dylan and his fellow Faithfuls vote to end the game and split $204,300 (roughly £153,600). Now appearing on stage at the Meet the Makers event with his co-stars Rob Mariano, Dolores Catania, and Bob the Drag Queen, the star teased that fans could be seeing more of him. When asked by host Emily Longeretta if it was an immediate 'yes' to sign up to the reality competition show, he replied: 'No, it wasn't. Mine was just I'd never done reality show before. 'So, like I've been offered some auditions for shows, like Survivor and stuff, and, like, I've always turned them down.' He continued: 'So this was the first time where I'm like, all right, I think I can do this. And so it took a little while, but I said yes.' 'You turned down Survivor?' Emily asked. Dylan clarified: 'No I wasn't like offered Survivor. It was like, "Hey we think you'd be good, when do you want to audition?" 'It was like stuff like that, like Love Islands and stuff, which I couldn't do. So then this one was like, all right, I might be ready.' Prior to appearing on The Traitors, which came to an end on March 6, his older brother sang high praise about him. Zac, 37, previously said he was confident that his younger brother would win and beat all of his costars. 'I think he's going to win,' Zac said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June 2024. 'He's really good at games, and I just have a good feeling about it.' He also added that Dylan has always had luck on his side when it comes to gambling and games. 'He is just the best at games. Growing up, he was a first-roll-[at-Yahtzee]-kind-of-dude.' It comes just a month after Dylan revealed he saved two girls from drowning in Miami Beach, Florida. The heroic star, whose A-list brother Zac starred in the 2017 movie Baywatch, had a lifeguard moment when he rushed into the water to rescue the women. Dylan said he noticed them struggling in the strong currents as he recalled the frightening ordeal on Brooke & Connor Make A Podcast. He said: 'It was really random. I showed up to the beach, it was my first time ever actually like on the beach. 'And [I] walk up to the shore for the first time ever, and I'm looking out and it was just people screaming in the water. 'So, I just saw like five girls. Like their hands were up, screaming, there's people on the shore with their hands up. 'I looked around and there were no lifeguards around and I was with my buddy Brennan and we just sprinted out there. 'There were two closest to us that already had a guy helping them in and then there was three out further so I swam one in and swam out for another girl. 'It was really real. The last girl I swam in I was just trying to calm her down and just saying like "breath, breath" and she just wrapped my in the biggest hug. 'We hugged for like a full minute, just like hugging this girl on shore, like "You're safe your good" and then just walked away.' 'I'm in the water a lot so I just new, the current was ripping we ended up like a football pitch away. The girls probably just got a bit too far away', he added. Zac starred in the 2017 film Baywatch, which was filmed on Florida's Emerald Bay, and played the hunky new lifeguard.

Why Boston Rob Mariano Doesn't 'Have a Desire to Go Back' on Competitive Reality TV (Exclusive)
Boston Rob Mariano has competed on , , and Mariano tells PEOPLE that, following , he's "kind of just hanging out" in his TV career The reality star is currently competing in The Irish Poker Open sponsored by PokerStars in Dublin Boston Rob Mariano has solidified himself as one of reality TV's strongest competitors. But now, after one of his signature power moves led to him being eliminated early from The Traitors season 3, Mariano, 49, tells PEOPLE he doesn't have plans to return to television at this time. 'At this point, I'm kind of just hanging out,' he says. 'I don't have a desire to go back and compete in that realm right now. I'm going to take a little break, the kids are off for the summer.' 'I truly feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world,' Mariano says. 'I didn't expect to be still doing it after 25 years, so never say never. You never know what's going to happen.' The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Mariano currently finds himself using some of the skills and strategy he employs on TV to compete in The Irish Poker Open sponsored by PokerStars, Europe's longest running live poker series, taking place in Dublin. The Amazing Race alum says some of his competitors do know him from TV, 'so I have to always be on guard.' Over in Europe, Mariano says fans recognize him most for Traitors. 'You have that whole Bravo world where I think it introduced a whole new subset of people that watch reality TV to me,' the father of four continues. 'And now I hear a lot of people are going back and watching the old Survivors and the old Amazing Races and stuff. It's kind of cool to see the younger generation seeing all the stuff I've been doing for 25 years.' Poker players from around the world have gotten a taste of that gamesmanship as well throughout the tournament. 'A lot of the same skill set you use in these competition reality shows transfer over to poker,' Mariano explains. 'The No. 1 thing is you have to be aware, and you have to watch the situation, and you have to be able to adapt. Just like Survivor or Traitors or Deal or No Deal Island, there's a combination of skill and luck, so you're not going to be able to control the tournament from beginning to end.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. The same even-keeled attitude Mariano uses while forming alliances and cutting deals on reality TV comes in handy at the poker table. 'The key is to be balanced,' he says. 'It's hard to do, especially if you're losing. Generally, people tend to play worse than if they're winning. So constantly being self-aware and knowing that some days are just not going to be your days and tomorrow's another day, you know? Treat it as a game, so it always remains fun.' 'I think it's funny,' the Massachusetts native says. 'It's funny to see people look at stuff from me from 20 years ago.' Even his wife Amber Brkich and daughters Lucia, 15, Carina, 14, Isabetta, 12, and Adelina, 10, 'love it.' 'They're pretty supportive of the whole thing,' Mariano says. 'We all get a good laugh out of it for sure.' Read the original article on People
