OPP offers $50,000 reward for information about eastern Ontario man last seen in 2018
Ontario Provincial Police say 75-year-old Robert Lambert was last seen at his home in Montague Township, near Smiths Falls, in 2018. (OPP/release) A $50,000 reward is being offered for information on the whereabouts of an eastern Ontario man who has been missing for seven years. Ontario Provincial Police say Robert Lambert, 75, went missing from his home in Montague Township, near Smiths Falls, in 2018. Police received a report of a missing person on Nov. 30, 2018, about Lambert, who had not been seen since early July 2018. 'Despite an extensive investigation and numerous searches, there has been no trace of Robert Lambert who was 75 years of age when he went missing,' the OPP said in a media release Friday morning. 'Prior to his disappearance, Lambert required assistance to travel and needed medication on a regular basis. In 2018, investigators were told that he had travelled to the United States, but there was no record of him crossing the border.' Police are now offering a $50,000 reward for anyone who has information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. Lambert is described as 6'3', medium build with white hair and brown eyes. The OPP says the Criminal Investigation Branch is overseeing the investigation into the disappearance of Lambert, adding 'foul play cannot be ruled out in the disappearance.' In a video posted on social media, the OPP said Lambert moved to Canada in 2004 to marry his fiancé. Det.-Insp. Serge Acay says Lambert required care from personal support workers to travel. 'We were initially told he had travelled to the United States, but there is no record of Mr. Lambert ever leaving the country,' Acay said in the video. 'We are confident someone has a crucial piece of information that will help the OPP determine what happened to Robert Lambert.' Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit at 1-888-310-1122 or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online
