Napa man vanishes while awaiting sentence on child sex crimes
NAPA, Calif. - Authorities in Napa are searching for a man who vanished after awaiting sentencing on a 25-year term for sex crimes, police said. What we know The Napa Police Department said Antonio Roman-Vega, 39, is wanted by the county's probation department. Roman-Vega was to be sentenced for multiple counts of assault on a minor with intent to commit rape. What they're saying The man had a GPS monitor that was last detected Nov. 8 in Tulare County's unincorporated area of Earlimart. Tulare County sheriff's deputies searched the area but could not find him. His GPS device was believed to be in the middle of a retaining pond. His vehicle, a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was last seen in Delano on March 10. The license plate of the truck is CA 68482E1. Man on the run from Napa authorities after child sex crime conviction
(KRON) — The Napa Police Department is seeking the community's assistance in locating a man who was convicted of multiple counts of assault of a minor with intent to commit rape. Antonio Roman-Vega fled in November while awaiting sentencing on a 25-year term, authorities announced Thursday. Authorities released a photo of Roman-Vega, who is wanted by the Napa County Probation Department. The 39-year-old convict 'had a GPS monitoring device last detected on November 8 in Earlimart, just north of Delano,' Napa police said. When the Tulare County Sheriff's Office searched the area, he was not found. 'His GPS device was believed to be in the middle of a retaining pond,' said authorities. Second arrest made in Napa County child pornography case According to Napa PD, Roman-Vega has a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with the California license plate 68482E1.
