Gurugram, Aug 14 (PTI) Gurugram Police arrested a woman of Nepali origin who was allegedly plotting to commit theft by posing as a maid in houses, said police. Three fake identity cards have been recovered from the woman who allegedly used fake IDs to hide her identity, they added. According to the police, they got information that a woman was involved in suspicious activities in Sector 15. The police immediately raided and took the woman into custody. During interrogation, she was identified as Rupa Kumari Singh, a resident of Nepal. The police recovered four identity cards from her, of which only one was genuine, they added. Gurgaon: A Nepalese woman was arrested by the Crime Branch, Sector 43, on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to commit theft while posing as a domestic help in homes near Sector 15. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Police identified the accused as Rupa Kumari Singh. Officials said she was found carrying three forged identity cards to conceal her real identity. "During interrogation, it emerged that the accused had three fake IDs, each with different names, fathers' names and addresses, but all carrying her photograph. Posing as a maid, she intended to steal and escape, using the forged cards to mislead homeowners and police," said ASI Sandeep, Gurgaon police spokesperson. She was booked at the Civil Lines police station. Later in the day, she was produced in a local court and sent to judicial custody.
