Rs 75 cr infrastructure boost for SC/ST colonies in Chittoor
Chittoor: Chittoor district Collector Sumit Kumar has called on tribal families to ensure that all children receive proper education. He participated as the chief guest in the World Adivasi Day celebrations on Saturday. Speaking after paying floral tributes to freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, the Collector said that tribal communities still face multiple challenges, including poor road and electricity access, low literacy rates, and lack of digital facilities. He said the district has about 60,000 tribals in nearly 600 habitations, and Rs 75 crore is being spent on improving infrastructure in SC/ST colonies. For the first time in Chittoor, under the Recognition of Forest Rights Act (ROFR) Act 2006, 50 beneficiaries in Thumbapalyam village, Bangarupalem mandal, were granted fishing rights in forest ponds, benefiting tribal fisher families. He urged tribals to directly approach his office with grievances and make full use of educational and hostel facilities. In Somala mandal's Mucchu Kalva, 22 Yanadi families received land title passbooks for 20 acres. Joint Collector G Vidyadhari urged tribals to utilise all state and central schemes and apply for housing titles through village secretariats. Padel praised the historic role of tribals in Alluri's fight against the British and encouraged sending children to school. Mayor S Amuda highlighted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's welfare and infrastructure projects in tribal areas. During the event, the SC Corporation provided Rs 2,20,292 to three beneficiaries for farm borewell electrification. The Tribal Welfare Department also distributed land ownership documents for 19.99 acres to 22 beneficiaries under the ROFR Act. Cultural performances by girls from the tribal gurukul school enthralled the audience. District officials including tribal welfare and empowerment officer S Murthy, tribal leaders, teachers, and students attended the celebrations.

Every scheme must reach the people: Dr Mallu Ravi
Nagarkurnool: 'Comprehensive measures are needed for the development of Nagarkurnool district, and all Central and State welfare schemes should be implemented effectively,' said Dr Mallu Ravi, MP and Chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA). He emphasised that education, healthcare, and employment are vital to improving the living standards of the poor. On Tuesday, Dr Mallu Ravi chaired the DISHA meeting in Nagarkurnool, which was attended by District Collector Badavath Santosh, MLAs Dr Rajesh Reddy, Dr Vamshi Krishna, DFO Rohit Gopidi, Additional Collectors P Amarender and Dev Sahayam, among others. Dr Ravi stressed that government schemes must align with national and state development goals. He instructed officials to monitor Central schemes regularly, and if there are challenges, to bring them to the attention of him or local MLAs. He stated that public representatives and officials must work in coordination to ensure that Nagarkurnool emerges as a model district in development and welfare. He advised banks to provide loans across all sectors, especially to small entrepreneurs, and urged them to ensure the full implementation of crop loans and priority sector lending targets. He instructed National Highway officials to prepare proposals for highway expansion and inter-state bridges like the Maddimadugu–Macharam bridge. He also directed that SC Corporation loan grounding from 2017 to 2025 be completed and that banks take special interest in utilizing SC Corporation funds. Regarding education, Dr Mallu Ravi emphasized that quality education is a fundamental right. He highlighted the need to expand schools and colleges, improve teacher training, and modernize education policies. The government is working to ensure that Telangana's education sector becomes a national leader. In healthcare, he said that the government has already enhanced facilities at the district medical college, offering advanced training and services. Efforts are underway to provide quality medical care in tribal and rural areas. He also instructed officials to ensure 100% student enrolment in welfare hostels and gurukuls and to send proposals for any additional requirements.

Workshop on Vision Parchur @2047 held
Parchur: A workshop on the 'Vision Parchur @2047' was held as part of the Vision Swarna Andhra Pradesh @2047 Action Plan at Parchur MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao's camp office at Isukadarsi on Wednesday. Sambasiva Rao participated in the workshop along with Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board Chairman Damacharla Sathya, SC Corporation Dr Pedapudi Vijay Kumar, and explained that the initiative aims to position Parchur constituency at the forefront of development across all sectors by 2047. Speaking at the workshop attended by officials from various departments, the MLA emphasised that the goal is to achieve top position in agriculture, industrial development, and tourism sectors. He stated that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is moving forward with the Swarna Andhra Pradesh @2047 Vision, targeting health, employment, women's economic development, and increased farmer income to achieve prosperity and happiness for all. Yeluri announced the launch of 'Parchur Pragati Prajalathone' (Progress of Parchur through Public), the P4 initiative designed to eliminate poverty through mentor support. Three mentors, Kolla Ashok, Venkat, and Swarna Balu, have been appointed to guide software training for unemployed youth and provide necessary assistance to poor families in the constituency. He said that the mentors have already established a software training centre at Guntur and are planning to train at least 10 candidates from each of the six mandals in the constituency. The MLA set economic development goals for the constituency, to improve per capita income from Rs 2.45 lakh today to Rs 45 lakhs by 2047, and plans to establish 25000 solar installations by March 31, 2026. The workshop discussed plans for industrial park development, irrigation facilities expansion, fisheries industry promotion, agricultural sector advancement, port development near Chinnaganjam to create employment opportunities, and others to achieve the vision. Sathya praised CM Chandrababu Naidu's vision, drawing parallels to the successful Vision 2020 that transformed Hyderabad. He expressed confidence that Vision Swarnandhra @2047 will also achieve success through technology adoption and rapid development. Vijay Kumar commended MLA Sambasiva Rao's efforts in resolving tobacco farmers' issues and ensuring government procurement of tobacco crops. He highlighted the MLA's commitment to constituency development and youth welfare. The workshop was attended by DWMA PD AV Vijayalakshmi, Markfed DM Karuna Sri, Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Gunji Venkatarao, tahsildars from sixmandals, MPDOs, and engineering department officials.

A. Nishita Takes Charge as New ED of SC Corporation in Jogulamba Gadwal District
Gadwal: A. Nishita officially assumed charge as the new Executive Director (ED) of the Scheduled Castes (SC) Corporation in Jogulamba Gadwal district on Thursday. She succeeds Ramesh Babu, who has been transferred from the position. Speaking on the occasion, A. Nishita shared that she was previously working as the District Tribal Development Officer (DTDO) in Wanaparthy district before being transferred to Jogulamba Gadwal. She expressed her commitment to furthering the development initiatives for the Scheduled Castes in the district through the SC Corporation. As part of her initial duties, the newly appointed ED paid a courtesy visit to the District Collector. During the meeting, they discussed priorities, ongoing welfare programs, and strategies to improve the reach and effectiveness of schemes aimed at the upliftment of SC communities. A. Nishita's appointment is expected to bring fresh energy and focused leadership to the district's efforts in implementing various welfare schemes under the SC Corporation. Her previous administrative experience is likely to contribute significantly to strengthening support systems for marginalized communities in the region.

Tobacco procurement centres inaugurated
Parchuru: Housing and Information & Public relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar, and Parchuru MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao inaugurated three black burley tobacco procurement centres by Markfed at J Panguluru, Inkollu, and Parchuru on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Parthasarathy said that the state government is governing with humanity, and will continuously conduct welfare programmes, standing by farmers. He observed companies that pressured farmers to cultivate black burley tobacco and ditched them when the crop was ready. He said that the local public representatives brought the issue to the Chief Minister's attention and ensured government procurement of black burley tobacco for the first time, through Markfed, to rescue the farmers. The minister announced that they will establish three more procurement centres at Duddukuru, Bhimavaram, and Inkollu to purchase the black burley tobacco from the farmers. Minister Gottipati Ravikumar said that when they approached the Chief Minister requesting the establishment of procurement centres in Marturu and Korisapadu areas, he gave approval. He announced that the black burley tobacco is divided into three grades, and fixed Rs 12,000, Rs 9,000, and Rs 6,000 per quintal to the A, B, and C grades, respectively. He said that the government has sanctioned Rs 270 crore for the black burley tobacco procurement, and they will procure every leaf from farmers. He advised the farmers not to cultivate black burley tobacco next year without government permission, and suggested they cultivate maize and gram crops as alternatives, not to be deceived again. Sambasiva Rao observed that the government acts with responsibility towards farmers, and the government's direct tobacco procurement is a courageous decision. He said that the government will take action to deposit money in farmers' accounts within 48 hours. He advised the farmers to make sure the moisture in the leaf should not exceed 20 per cent, and assured that the centres would procure 30 tons of tobacco daily. He announced that the procurement centres will continue until tobacco procurement from farmers is finished. Bapatla district collector J Venkata Murali observed that the problem came due to cultivation of black burley tobacco beyond permitted limits and a decline in international market prices. He said that crop cultivation was done in 12 mandals of the Bapatla district, and 18 procurement centres are being established to purchase them. He said that they procured 342 tonnes of black burley tobacco worth Rs 3.00 crore from 342 farmers, and assured to procure tobacco from the last farmer. The programme was attended by SC Corporation Chairman Vijay Kumar, RDOs P Gloria (Bapatla) and Chandrasekar (Chirala), Markfed Additional Director Karunasri, Marketing Department officials, and farmers.
