Industry Ministry and Hope Ventures sign strategic partnership
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), witnessed the signing of the letter of intent for a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Hope Ventures to establish a makerspace and an industrial innovation centre in Salman Industrial City, Al Hidd. The letter was signed by Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hope Ventures; and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce. Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, SCYS Secretary General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hope Fund, was present. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain remains committed to advancing initiatives that empower and support youth across diverse sectors. He highlighted that the project will support ambition among young people, encouraging creativity and innovation. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad further commended the project for establishing an integrated and supportive ecosystem for youth development. He underscored the role of the youth, highlighting their determination and perseverance as essential to building a more advanced and prosperous future for the Kingdom. This project is part of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026) initiatives, aimed at providing spaces to support small and medium industries (SMEs) and enhance their growth, while creating a supportive and stimulating environment for industrial research, development, and innovation. The Minister of Industry and Commerce emphasised that this initiative represents a strategic step within the implementation of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022-2026), as it provides direct support to small and medium industries and helps stimulate an environment of innovation and enhance research and development. He noted that enabling youth, makers, and innovators to access the necessary resources and appropriate infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for supporting their projects and turning ideas into innovative products, which contributes to developing the national economy and advancing its path toward a knowledge-based economy. On his part, Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed expressed pride in this partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, emphasising Hope Venture's commitment to creating a supportive and inspiring environment for ambitious Bahraini youth and empowering them in shaping the future of the national industry through embracing innovation concepts and modern technologies. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed added that the company is working to develop sustainable initiatives that meet the aspirations of the new generation and contribute to raising the competitiveness of Bahraini industries at both local and international levels. The centre will be established over an area exceeding 57,000 square meters and will include spaces for light manufacturing, logistics services, creative workspaces, co-working areas, administrative offices, training facilities, and other services. Bahrain Comic Con 2025 starts
Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the sixth edition of Bahrain Comic Con 2025 opened today at Bahrain International Circuit. The event was attended by His Highness's sons, Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Khalifa and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the launch of the latest edition of the exhibition, which has developed into a prominent cultural and entertainment platform that celebrates innovation and creative expression. He highlighted the importance of supporting young people and creatives across fields such as content creation, comic art, digital games, and pop culture. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad noted that the success of the exhibition in attracting renowned international figures highlights Bahrain's growing reputation as a regional centre for modern arts and events. The two-day event, held on May 2-3, offers an immersive experience in comics, cosplay, gaming, and interactive exhibitions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet several renowned international guests, including His Royal Highness Prince Fahad Al Saud, a leading entrepreneur and executive in the fields of technology and creativity; Giancarlo Esposito, known for his role as Gus Fring in 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul'; Isaac Hempstead Wright, who played Bran Stark in 'Game of Thrones'; Dalip Singh Rana, better known as The Great Khali, a professional wrestling champion; Aisha Selim, a prominent Arab actress and voice of Ana Amari in 'Overwatch' and 'Overwatch 2'; Katie Leung, who portrayed Cho Chang in the 'Harry Potter' film series and appeared in 'Bridgerton'; and Katsuhiro Harada, the creator and director of the legendary video game franchise 'Tekken.' HH Shaikh Nasser chairs SCYS council meeting
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), chaired a meeting of the Council. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, was present. HH Shaikh Nasser emphasised the SCYS's key role in supporting Bahraini youth and encouraging their active participation in national development. HH Shaikh Nasser directed the establishment of the 'Al Bayt Al Oud Authority', an initiative designed to instil values and national awareness. The initiative seeks to develop community engagement and invest in future generations. HH Shaikh Nasser tasked the Ministry of Youth Affairs with continuing to implement and develop these programmes to build an informed and engaged youth base committed to national progress and community cohesion. The meeting reviewed a presentation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs on the Hope Network initiative, an international platform dedicated to unifying global efforts to empower youth and promote hope. HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted that the initiative reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and aligns with the directives of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The meeting also reviewed the participation of Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum, where Bahrain's national programme Lamea was showcased as a successful model in preparing effective youth leaders.
