SEIL Energy administrative building in Nellore gets IGBC Platinum Award
Nellore-based independent power producer SEIL Energy India Limited announced that its administrative building has been awarded the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum' Award for green building certification. This achievement is a testament to SEIL Energy's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company's administrative building located at Nelaturu village of Muthukur mandal in Nellore, achieved an impressive rating of over 80 per cent in the Existing Green Building Rating System. The IGBC Platinum Certification was presented at the Green Andhra Summit 2025, held in Vijayawada recently. The summit was organised by IGBC in partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). 'This recognition reflects our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our team,' said SEIL Energy Limited CEO Janmejaya Mahapatra. 'The company's commitment to sustainability is evident in its efforts to reduce energy consumption, conserve water, and minimise waste. Our dedicated team have made sustainability a way of life at the supercritical thermal power generation complex, powering progress responsibly,' he added.

SEIL energy distributes 1000 bicycles to school-going children
Nellore, July 25 (UNI) In a significant step towards promoting education and enabling better access to schools for rural students, SEIL Energy India Limited, one of the largest independent power producers (IPP) in India, has donated 1,000 bicycles to school-going children in Addanki, in Bapatla District of Andhra Pradesh, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative on Friday. This initiative, aligned with SEIL Energy's CSR key focus area on Education, aims to reduce school dropout rates, particularly among children from underprivileged backgrounds and girl students who often face mobility challenges in remote areas. Energy Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, formally handed over bicycles at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Makkenavaripalem. The Minister also handed over 452 cycles to the students of ZPHS, Medarametla. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said, 'We are immensely grateful to SEIL Energy for their generous contribution of 1,000 bicycles. This initiative is a critical enabler in the Government of Andhra Pradesh's larger vision to distribute 10,000 bicycles to underprivileged children, ensuring that no child is denied access to education due to lack of transportation.' Mr. Janmejaya Mahapatra, CEO, SEIL Energy India Limited, said, 'At SEIL Energy, we believe that education is the most powerful tool for community transformation. Through this initiative, we are not just donating bicycles ---we are helping unlock the future potential of 1,000 children. We are proud to partner with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in advancing this noble and meaningful cause.' All 1,000 beneficiaries are underprivileged school students from rural areas, and many of them are first-generation learners. AP: SEIL Energy's Fire Brigade responds to 157 community medical & fire emergencies

The Company observed the National Fire Service Fortnight from April 14 to 28 and conducted various fire safety awareness programmes and competitions for employees and associates. During the ceremony, SEIL Fire Brigade demonstrated its preparedness with various fire-fighting mock-drills and exhibited its commitment to ensure safety for its employees and the community. Raghav Trivedi, CEO – SEIL Energy India Limited, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the SEIL Fire Brigade for their unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of the company and the community. Nellore-based independent power producer SEIL Energy India Limited's fire brigade saved several lives and valuable properties in 157 medical and fire emergencies (seven fire incident calls, 13 labour pain calls, 17 road accident calls and 120 other serious emergency calls) during the last one year. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Head – O&M (Operations and Maintenance) at SEIL Energy India, revealed said this while lauding the efforts of the company's fire brigade team in supporting the community during emergencies. He highlighted their world-class safety practices on the occasion of 'National Fire Service Fortnight' valedictory ceremony here on Monday.
