Promised plot in Wave City project, 5 kill man, dump body in canal; held in Noida
Noida: Five people, suspected of murdering a man and dumping his body in a canal in Bulandshahr earlier this month, have been arrested. While two accused were arrested in an encounter, the others were held in a combing operation.
The accused were involved in the murder of Naresh Prajapati, a resident of Roza Jalalpur village, who was found in the canal near Narsena village. A case was filed following a complaint lodged by his brother Omprakash under Section 103 (murder) of BNS at Bisrakh police station. Those arrested on Thursday have been identified as Neeraj (32) of Kavi village, Hapur; Sunil Kumar (50) of Dujana village, Bulandshahr; Saurabh Kumar (25) of Bharna village, Bulandshahr; Praveen Sharma (36) of Roza Jalalpur village, Bisrakh; and Praveen Mavi (31) of Narsena village, Bulandshahr.
Neeraj and Sunil were held in the encounter.
DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said Bisrakh police were conducting checks near SKS World School Chipyana Buzurg when they signalled a car to stop, but the driver tried to flee. The police chased the car, which lost control and hit a divider. The suspects then began firing at the police, who retaliated. In the gunfight that ensued, two of the suspects were injured. They were caught and confessed to their role in Prajapati's death.

During interrogation, Neeraj said that he was introduced to Sunil Kumar through his nephew Gaurav and Gaurav's friend Khan alias Maharaj. Sunil Kumar told them that his friend Praveen Sharma wanted to kill Naresh Prajapati. Sharma believed his wife was hypnotised by Naresh, whom he called a tantrik (godman), after which she ran away with someone else. Sharma promised 100-yard plots in Wave City to Neeraj if he got Naresh killed.
Neeraj agreed and roped in his friends, Saurabh and Ankit, Saurabh's brother.
