Security tightened in Haryana's Nuh for Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra today
The security has been tightened in Nuh with the deployment of 2000 police personnel to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on Monday, a senior police officer said. Heightened security comes against the backdrop of viloence during the yatra two years back, triggering riots across several districts of south Haryana. The clashes erupted after a mob attacked a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Nuh on July 31, 2023. On the fourth day of Shravan today, Jalabhishek Yatra is scheduled to be carried out in the Nuh district. The police have stepped up security measures including drones for surveillance to check any untoward incident. Nuh Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kumar said that 18 police companies have been deployed for the Jalabhishek Yatra. He added that 2,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure safety and crowd management. "The police have made security arrangements for the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. The Yatra will start from Nuh and reach a temple while passing through Jhirka. Eighteen police companies have been deployed. 2,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the Jalabhishek Yatra and to carry out traffic duties while managing the crowd," SP Kumar told reporters here. "Those who have a record of trying to hinder the Yatra through videos or other means have been restrained from joining the Yatra. Following the court's directives, we are ensuring that no anti-social elements, who can hinder the Yatra by delivering provocative speeches, will be restricted from joining the Yatra. We will also take strict action against those who fail to follow directives issued by the police," he added. Recently, the Haryana government ordered the temporary suspension of mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district amid apprehensions of communal tension and public disorder. According to an official order issued by the Department of Home Affairs under Section 20 of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 and Rule 3 of the Telecommunications (Temporary Suspension of Services) Rules, 2024, the suspension will remain in effect from 9:00 PM on July 13 to 9:00 PM on July 14. The order read, "Whereas, it has been brought to my notice by ADGP/CID, Haryana and Deputy Commissioner, Nuh vide their requests dated 13.07.2025 that there is an apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage of public & private property and disturbance of public peace & tranquility in the district Nuh." "There is a clear potential of disruption of public utilities, damage to public assets and amenities and disturbance of public law and order in district Nuh on account of misuse of internet services by way of spread of inflammatory material and false rumours, which are being/could be transmitted/circulated to the public through social media/messaging services on mobile internet services, SMS services and other dongle services," it added. "In order to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter, etc. on mobile phones and SMS for facilitation and mobilisation of mobs of agitators and demonstrators who can cause serious loss of life and damage to public and private properties by indulging in arson or vandalism and other types of violent activities," the order stated. The state government has also warned that any person found violating the terms of the suspension order will face legal action under relevant provisions of law.

Jagan Mohan Reddy Named As Accused After His Car Runs Over Man
Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been named as an accused in a fatal road accident that allegedly occurred when he was on his way to Rentapalla village in Palnadu district recently, a police official said on Sunday. On June 18, Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Rentapalla to call on a family member of a YSRCP leader who had died by suicide a year ago. The former Chief Minister's vehicle went through the Etukuru bypass. "After analysing various evidence, it was found that the deceased was seen under the wheels of Jagan Mohan Reddy's vehicle," said Guntur district Superintendent of Police (SP) S Satish Kumar, addressing a press conference late on Sunday. SP Kumar said that upon receiving the information about the old man, Singaiah, who suffered severe bleeding injuries. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors, he said. A case was initially registered under Section 106(1) of BNS (causing death by negligence) based on a complaint by his wife, Cheeli Lurdhu Mary, at the local police station. After analysing CCTV footage, drone visuals, and circumstantial evidence, "police confirmed that the deceased was run over by the Ex-Chief Minister's vehicle in the convoy," said police. Following this 'confirmation, police altered the case to include Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 49 of the BNS (Abetment) and intensified the investigation into the circumstances involved. Other accused include Jagan Mohan Reddy's driver Ramana Reddy, Personal Assistant K Nageshwar Reddy, senior YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy, former MLA Perni Venkataramaiah, and former Minister Vidadala Rajini, Kumar told reporters. Their names have been added in the accused column, said SP Kumar, adding that legal action will proceed according to due process and applicable provisions of law, he said.

Two Chinese nationals arrested on India-Nepal border for ‘suspicious activities'
Two Chinese nationals have been arrested from the Jatahi-Pipraun border in Madhubani district of Bihar after they were allegedly seen taking photographs in the sensitive border area late Wednesday evening. Madhubani Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar confirmed that the two have been nabbed from the India-Nepal border in a joint operation by the district police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). 'Both individuals have been arrested under the Foreigners Act 1946. During inspection, we couldn't find any valid travel documents or visas. During initial questioning, it was revealed that they had been travelling in Nepal for the past three months and have crossed the border in the last few days,' the officer said, SP Kumar further added: 'During our preliminary investigation, we found some questionable content on their mobile phones, which can't be disclosed right now as investigations are still ongoing. However, we will be taking them on remand for further interrogation, and if needed, we will also seek assistance from central agencies'. Local sources claimed that some 'anti-India videos' have been found on one of the suspect's phones. They also claimed that while communication was difficult with the suspects — only one of whom spoke some English — translators and language experts were called in to assist with the investigation. Authorities are now trying to establish the identities, motives and activities of both individuals, officials said.

Mysterious Drone-Like Objects Spotted Along India-Nepal Border; IAF, Police On High Alert
In a worrying turn of events along the global border, unknown drone-like flying objects were noticed entering Indian territory from Nepal on Monday evening, prompting a multi-agency alert and increased vigilance across Bihar's Madhubani district. Official sources said that personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) deployed at the Kamala Border Outpost (BOP) in Jaynagar reported witnessing "mysterious illuminated aerial objects" flying above the India-Nepal border near midnight. The glowing objects are said to have lingered for almost 30 minutes before disappearing back into Nepalese skies. Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar confirmed the sightings, saying, "The SSB personnel acted swiftly and informed the Indian Air Force (IAF) bases in Darbhanga and Delhi. Local police units were also alerted, and a formal investigation is now underway." As a response, police stations around the area have increased patrolling activities. "Security has been tightened along the border, and all concerned agencies are coordinating closely to monitor the situation," SP Kumar said. The porous India-Nepal border in Bihar has historically been a hotspot for smuggling, human trafficking, and unauthorised movement. Officials remain on edge, particularly in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming two-day visit to the state starting May 29. This incident comes amid growing concerns about aerial surveillance, trans-border security breaches, and the potential misuse of drone technology for illicit activities. The authorities have not so far established the origin or nature of the objects, but investigations are ongoing with the help of local police, central intelligence agencies, and the IAF.
