Surrey RCMP cruiser struck by SUV while officer responding to call
Four people, including an RCMP officer, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after an SUV hit an RCMP vehicle on Sunday night. Surrey, B.C., police said an RCMP Surrey provincial operations support unit (SPOSU) officer was responding to an emergency call when an SUV struck them at 8:22 p.m. in the intersection of 176 Street and 64 Avenue. SPOSU's major crime MVI unit took over the investigation and the integrated collision analysis and reconstruction service (ICARS) was called in to assist. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, police said. Police investigating after daylight shooting in Surrey, B.C.

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Darryl Dyck Police in Surrey, B.C., are asking witnesses to come forward after a shooting in a residential street late Sunday morning. According to a release from the Surrey Police Service, officers were called to the area of 152 Street and 96 Avenue for reports of shots fired shortly after 11 a.m. Police arrived to find 'numerous shell casings', but no one was injured during the incident, the SPS said. The RCMP's SPOSU General Investigation Unit have been called in to assist with the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they have relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam video, are asked to contact Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2025-41636.
