Gerard Butler ‘Greenland 2: Migration' Gets Winter 2026 Date; Jason Statham's ‘Mutiny' Eyes Summer
Greenland 2: Migration, starring Gerard Butler, will be released on January 9, 2026 via Lionsgate.
The Santa Monica studio's Mutiny, which was previously dated for that date, will look for a summer release at a date to be determined.

The original Greenland was set for release by STX Entertainment when it was in its full operation. The movie was sidelined by Covid but hobbled through, nabbing a $20 million-$30 million HBO streaming deal stateside, and also getting a release abroad where theaters were open, notching No. 1 in 26 countries including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Russia to gross more than $52M internationally.
Greenland 2: Migration is produced by Anton, STX Entertainment, Thunder Road Pictures and G-base Entertainment. STX is handling international distribution of Greenland 2: Migration through its global network of partners.
In part 2, the Garrity family (Butler, Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffith Davis) are forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home. Pic also stars Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg and William Abadie.
Greenland: Migration is directed by Ric Roman Waugh, written by Mitchell LaFortune and Chris Sparling, and produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Butler, Alan Siegel, Sébastien Raybaud, John Zois, Brendon Boyea and Waugh.
