BLACKPINK Star Makes History with New K-Pop Record
BLACKPINK Star Makes History with New K-Pop Record originally appeared on Parade. ROSÉ from BLACKPINK just made history. This year, the New Zealand-born South Korean singer earned eight nominations at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. This achievement not only cements her status as one of K-pop's biggest stars but also breaks the record for the most VMA nominations ever received by a K-pop artist in a single year. The title was originally held by BTS when they received seven nominations in 2021, winning three of those. The 28-year-old singer was nominated for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Pop, Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects for her song "APT." with Bruno Mars. Plus, her song "toxic till the end" from her album rosie was nominated for Best K-Pop. Her fellow BLACKPINK members — JENNIE, LISA, and JISOO — also scored nominations for tracks from their own debut solo albums: JENNIE's "like JENNIE," LISA's "Born Again (featuring Doja Cat and RAYE)" and JISOO's "earthquake." In the fall of 2023, BLACKPINK decided to take a brief break as a group after the end of their Born Pink World Tour to focus on their solo careers. This past year, each member released their own solo album or EP. ROSÉ released rosie in December 2024, which earned major acclaim from fans and critics. But now, BLACKPINK is back in your area. This past summer, the K-pop girl group has been on their DEADLINE World Tour, recently performing in Paris, France, this past weekend. They also released their first song together in two years, titled "JUMP," and the music video hit 100 million views on YouTube on July 25. BLACKPINK will be performing for their fans in Milan on Wednesday. For this year's VMA nominations, Lady Gaga leads with 12 nominations, while Bruno Mars follows with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. ROSÉ and Sabrina Carpenter are tied with 8, while Ariana Grande and The Weeknd are tied with seven, Billie Eilish has six while Charli xcx has five. Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae have four each. The Video Music Awards will air on CBS, Paramount+ and MTV on Sept. 7 at 8 p.m ET/5 p.m. Star Makes History with New K-Pop Record first appeared on Parade on Aug 5, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 5, 2025, where it first appeared. Vittoria Ceretti, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lauren Sánchez, and Jeff Bezos Do Double-Date Style
Is it even summer without a trip to Europe? In the land of celebrities, that would be a hard no. On their time off, A-listers love flocking to remote islands in France, Spain, Italy and beyond for their lavish vacations. Such is the case for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez this week: The recently-married couple, who took over Venice with their over-the-top ceremony back in June, arrived in Ibiza this weekend aboard their multi-million dollar yacht for a little R&R. (And this is no little boat—the superyacht is reported to be worth a whopping $485 million). As they landed on the rocky shore to head to dinner, Bezos and Sánchez even brought along another famous duo to make their night out a splashy double date: They were joined by Leonardo DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti. (The actor and model were among the many notable guests at the Venice wedding, so it's not surprising that the four friends are traveling together.) Photo: Backgrid While it was a double date, the couples didn't opt for coordinated, matchy-matchy outfits. Bezos and Sánchez went for more of an easy-breezy vacation vibe: Sánchez sported a white textured mini dress with heeled mules and a structured top-handle bag, while Bezos wore a white knit polo shirt, chinos, and white low-top sneakers. DiCaprio and Ceretti, meanwhile, went much dressier in all-black looks. The Hollywood actor donned his signature black baseball cap and a discrete monochromatic outfit, while Ceretti looked chic in her tank, swishy skirt, and heeled mules. The fact that Sánchez and Ceretti both navigated the rocky terrain in stilettos? Very impressive. But even more impressive, is how the paparazzi managed to find the couples in such a remote setting. Were they posted up on a nearby boat, just waiting for them to come ashore? Do they have a tracker on their yacht? Did they get tipped off by the Ibiza locals? When you have that much power and money, privacy is clearly one thing you can't buy.
