Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai actor Saanand Verma's inspiring journey from rejection to respect after winning hearts as Anokhe Lal Saxena

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai has introduced audiences to many iconic characters, and one such character is Anokhe Lal Saxena, portrayed by the immensely talented Saanand Verma . Known for his wild antics and the ever-viral catchphrase 'I like it,' he has not only entertained millions but also inspired countless fans with Saanand's off-screen journey of resilience. Sharing a poignant turning point from his struggling days, Saanand Verma aka Anokhe Lal Saxena said, 'There was a time I approached one of the popular Bollywood directors for a role. Unfortunately, he spoke to me rather rudely, rejected me outright, and said some hurtful things. That experience stayed with me for years. But life has a funny way of turning things around. After Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai became a hit and Saxena Ji gained recognition, the same director called me, this time with warmth in his voice. He invited me over for dinner and shared how his family, especially his kids, are huge fans of my character. That moment was surreal. Today, we share a great bond." He adds, "It was a powerful reminder that no rejection is final, and the universe always circles back with something better. That day, I truly felt how talent and resilience eventually find their way to the spotlight—or in my case, to the dinner table of someone who had once turned me away. It was emotional, humbling, and honestly, I like it!' From walking miles to auditions to starring in major films and web series, his journey is a true example of passion, grit, and determination. Beyond comedy, he has proven his range with impactful roles in movies like Mardaani and Chhichhore, making him a respected face in both television and cinema. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain's Saanand Verma: It's the biggest compliment for an actor when fans copy his dialogue

While TV shows and films may come and go, iconic dialogues stay with us for a much longer time, says actor Saanand Verma . The actor, who is known for his show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and has been part of films such as Raid, Mardaani and Chhichhore, says that he loves it when his fans recreate his dialogues. 'I remember I used to say Gabbar Singh's dialogues a lot. My father would often tell me, 'Come on, say Gabbar Singh's dialogue.' And I would say it at least 10 times a day, 'Kitne aadmi the?' That was the fun of it. When an actor performs, he does it with emotions and feelings. That's how he connects with common people. And when that connection happens, people enjoy it and even try to imitate it. So many kids say 'I like it,' so many people say ' Wah Beta, tum goo khake hi maanoge,' and many say 'who's your daddy. ' This is a big compliment for any actor when fans copy something of theirs, enjoy it, and have fun. What more could an actor want in life? I feel very lucky that this is happening to me,' he says. As for feedback, the actor says that he really loves it when he gets feedback from his mom. 'It really matters to me that my mother likes my work. My mother watches Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain very regularly on &TV at 10:30 pm, and she feels very happy and proud of me. My sister also watches all my work, and we discuss everything in detail. She is herself a very good actor, so she also guides me and shares her views. It gives me a lot of peace and happiness when my own people watch my work and we have these discussions. It feels so good when they feel proud of me,' he says. Appreciation is very important, but social media comments can sometimes be negative too, he says, adding, 'I don't think I have been trolled. And even if I have, I don't really know about it. Earlier, I used to read comments and even reply to them. But now, because of a lack of time and also because sometimes there is negativity and some strange people say odd things. I don't focus on comments anymore. So I really don't know if I've been trolled or not. And even if I have, it's okay. If not, that's okay too. The main thing is, when you are in public life and millions of people watch your work, it's not necessary that everyone will support you or praise you. If you enjoy hearing praise, you should also be ready for criticism. An artist can't always expect appreciation. Sometimes you have to face criticism, too. I'm not afraid of it. I just try to do my work with all my heart. And if someone trolls me, let them. I even pray for them, may God keep them happy. I have no enmity with anyone. I'm friends with all, enemies with none.' Talking about his upcoming track in the show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, he says, 'In my upcoming track in Bhabi Ji, the light moment is that I want to fulfil a big dream of mine. I want lightning to strike me from the sky, and I want my whole body to turn blue because of it. For this, I've even made a device that I carry around and keep saying, 'Let there be lighting! Let there be light!' So this is going to be a very fun and interesting track that is coming soon. ' Keep reading this space for more updates.

Amitabh Bachchan Was 'Very Rude, Didn't Even Look At Me': Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain Actor Recalls

Last Updated: When Saanand Verma first worked with Amitabh Bachchan, he was treated like a "son". However, their second time working together was starkly different. Actor Saanand Verma grew immensely popular after he starred in the superhit TV show, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Despite having worked with the best actors in the Indian entertainment industry, he only felt starstruck in front of one actor- Amitabh Bachchan. When Verma first worked with Bachchan, the veteran actor treated him like a 'son". However, their second time working together was starkly different. Verma said Bachchan was rude to him during the shoot. In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, Saanand Verma opened up about his contrasting experience with Amitabh Bachchan. He said, 'I have spoken to many stars, but I didn't think much about them. But I felt Amitabh Bachchan's aura when I was shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati's promo. The first time I met him… he was like… I felt like I am Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like I am his son. We spoke for three hours." His second time was not as great. Recalling his cold interaction, he said, 'However, the second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude." 'After completing the shoot, I went and told him, 'I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.' But he didn't even look at me, he kept staring at a painting and said, 'Bhagwan kare apko tibara mile (May God give you a third chance also),'" he said. Despite this coldness, Verma maintains that he still has immense respect for the veteran actor. He said, 'He gave me a lot of attention the first time and ignored me completely the second time, that contrast was noticeable. I love and respect Amit ji a lot. I don't think there is another actor like him in Hindi film industry but yes nobody is friends in the film industry." Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for the shoot for Kalki 2. Directed by Nag Ashwin and also starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, the sequel is expected to go on floors this year. He also has the Indian remake of The Intern with Deepika Padukone in his kitty. Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen in Brahmastra Part 2. First Published: June 07, 2025, 13:53 IST
