Real Madrid maintains Title of the U 13 Dubai Intercontinental Football Cup
Real Madrid Team of Spain has won its second successive title of the U 13 Dubai Intercontinental Football Cup, which was held with distinctive participation of more than 400 players, representing 24 teams. The U 13 Dubai Intercontinental Football Cup was organized with the support of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), aiming to attract & develop sports talents in football. Winners of the first places were honored by H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, the Deputy Chairman of DSC, accompanied by H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC, and Michel Salgado, Former Star of Real Madrid & Spanish National Team, in the presence of H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC, and Mr. Daniel Petrovs, the CEO of ISD Co. in Dubai Sports City. Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo 2 – 1 in the final match to win the golden cup, while Rodina surpassed Chelsea to secure the silver cup. Fursan Hispania overcame Al-Wahda & gained the bronze cup. Pablo Garcia of Real Madrid was awarded as best player in the Championship, while his colleague in the Team Guillermo Collado gained the highest scorer's title and Iker Loredo of Celta Vigo was honored as the best goalkeeper. The Championship was held with participation of 24 teams; these are: Real Madrid of Spain, Celta Vigo of Spain, AC Milan & Levante Azzurro of Italy, Chelsea of England, Bayern Munich of Germany, CSKA & Rodina of Russia, Dribbles of France, Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, Mahd Academy of Saudi Arabia, England Sports Club & Iris Academy of Jordan, ZED of Egypt, in addition to 10 teams from the Emirates: Al-Nasr, Al-Jazeerah, Al-Wahda, Shabab Al-Ahli, Al-Wasl, Sharjah, Hatta, Fursan Hispania (two teams), and Joga Bonito Academy. The U 13 Dubai Intercontinental Football Cup is a model of cooperation between DSC and private corporations, aiming to develop the sports sector through organizing of various competitive & community sports competitions and events. The championship also comes within the framework of the Council's keenness to provide unique opportunity for the Emirati clubs and football companies to develop the skills of national players and coaches via involving in competitions vs. prominent teams from different international academies, which contribute to enhancing their levels and qualifying them in an ideal way to provide distinctive performance, join national teams and represent the country in various international forums. The championship is part of a comprehensive plan, adopted by DSC to organize sports championships for various age groups of juniors with distinctive local & global participation, contributing to the development of national and international talents, who have been recruited in major international clubs. DSC's plan also includes organization of various competitions for all age groups. Dubai Sports Council & Landmark discuss Preparations to organize the 'Beat Diabetes Walk'
H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council (DSC) received the Landmark Group's delegation, headed by Ms. Nisha Jagtiani, the Group's Director, in the presence of H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC. The meeting discussed the constant cooperation between DSC & the Landmark Group to organize various community events, & dealt with latest preparations for arranging the 'Beat Diabetes Walk', confirming that this year's version of the Walk will be distinctive, as it coincides with the Year of the Community, taking into account that this Walk is one of the most eminent community events that attract tens of thousands of participants of various ages, multi-nationalities & different classes of society. The Walk also witnesses increasing development in the numbers of participants every year. Respective bodies endeavor to make the current version the biggest ever since the launch of this leading initiative, which has been held with participation of more than 165 thousand participants throughout 14 versions. H.E. Saeed Hareb confirmed DSC's constant keenness to provide all factors of support to all community events. He stated: 'We organize hundreds of community events every year at various destinations of Dubai targeting all classes in society, particularly the Beat Diabetes Walk; the annual prominent event which has been launched since 2009 as part of DSC's strategy to support community initiatives & boost sports activities and to make the same as lifestyle in society, aiming to reduce diseases, improve individuals' competence to deal with life's daily burdens and enhance life's quality'. He lauded the remarkable success & distinctive participation in the Beat Diabetes Walk every year, as it aims to enhance the level of awareness with the negative sides of diabetes and to motivate all individuals in society to exercise different sports activities to maintain health & avert unhealthy behavior. More than 3800 Participants in the Trifecta Spartan Race
More than 3800 male & female racers, among them are 600 children, participated in the Trifecta Spartan Race, which was held in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council (DSC), and organized by the I.T.P. Media at the Parks & Residence in Dubai. The two–day Race was launched in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC, and H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC. The event was joined by DSC's Team, headed by Dr. Abdulla Al-Karam, the Member of the Council's Board of Directors. Participants in the Trifecta Spartan Race competed in four different categories; these were the 4 km Spartan included 20 barriers / the 10 km super category, comprised 25 barriers / the open category / the 21 km beast category, included 30 barriers, besides children's category, which comprised 1 km & 3 km. DSC is keen to support challenge championships of all kinds, taking place in Dubai, to boost variety in organization of sports events, aiming to provide opportunities for the sports fans of multi-nationalities in Dubai to participate in various sports events & competitions, taking into account that over 200 nationalities reside in the Emirate.
