Harry Potter-obsessed teen given magical surprise of her life at Warner Bros
Saffron Crickley from Blackpool was whisked on a magical trip to London for her first ever holiday A Harry Potter-obsessed teenager who lives with a rare genetic condition got the surprise of her life when she was whisked to the Warner Bros Studios in Watford to see how her beloved films were made. Saffron Crickley, who was born with the incredibly rare chromosomal disorder Mosaic Turner Syndrome, lives with hearing and vision loss, scoliosis and ADHD. Despite her challenges, the 14-year-old from Blackpool remains upbeat and full of life, says mum Lianne. 'She's a miracle baby,' says Lianne. 'Everything she goes through she faces with a smile. She just wants to be part of the world, to belong, to laugh, to experience everything.' Saffron was taken on a once-in-a-lifetime trip by charity Dreams Come True, which organised for her to travel with her family to London for a three-day holiday - the first time Saffron had ever left her home town. She and her family - brothers Kyron, 15, and Greyson, 11; dad Lee, grandma Gail, 18-month-old foster brother Noah and mum Lianne - were treated to a slap-up meal at Frankie & Benny's, where they feasted on Saffron's favourite: burgers, without the bun! The next morning they were taken to the world-famous toy store Hamley's in central London, which pulled out all the stops with entertainers, high tea and a private tour of the seven floors of toys, games and fun. And that wasn't the only surprise in store for the youngster, who has loved Harry Potter since watching the very first film when she was four. Saffron found herself standing outside The Making of Harry Potter, home to hundreds of thousands of props, sets and costumes that were all used during the filming of every Potter film. And just to top it all off, two of her heroes - David Ricardo-Pearce and Thomas Aldridge, who are currently playing Harry and Ron Weasley in the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - had recorded a special video message just for her. 'She's absolutely Harry Potter obsessed, this is something she's talked about for years,' says Lianne. 'To finally go to London, and not only visit The Making of Harry Potter but also to receive a personalised message from the stars of the stage, Harry and Ron themselves, is beyond anything we could have imagined. It's truly magical.' Her favourite film is The Chamber of Secrets, and her favourite character is Harry's best friend Hermione, 'because she's brave and bossy - just like me with my brothers,' laughs Saffron. Her mum agrees. 'Hermione keeps the boys in line and under her thumb, and so does Saffron,' smiles Lianne. One of her highlights of the trip was trying Butterbeer, which in JK Rowling's magical universe is a slightly alcoholic butterscotch-tasting drink. In Muggle land, however, it's not boozy at all. 'I had it all over my face,' Saffron laughs. 'It was like a moustache!' But the ultimate highlight was walking into the room containing the 50-foot model of Hogwarts Castle, which was painstakingly built and painted by the art department for the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. 'It took Saffron's breath away,' says Lianne. 'She couldn't believe her eyes. It was the real Hogwarts, right in front of us.' The one scary moment came when Saffron found herself face-to-face with a roaring dragon, which in the Harry Potter series lives deep underground the wizarding bank Gringotts - until it is freed by Harry, Ron and Hermione. 'It was so loud I had to turn off my hearing aids,' says Saffron. But she left happily in possession of Hermione's very own wand, all the better for keeping her brothers in line. It comes as research finds more than half of families with children who have disabilities live beneath the poverty line. Dreams Come True is a wish-granting charity focused exclusively on children living in the highest areas of deprivation with serious medical needs or disabilities, and chief exec Lisa King OBE says: 'This is what it's all about: creating unforgettable experiences for children who deserve the world. For Saffron and her family, this is more than a holiday. It's hope, joy, and magic brought to life.'

Tamil Nadu CM Stalin alleges AIADMK has gone under BJP's control
Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday alleged the AIADMK has gone fully under the control of the BJP and leader of opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami is attempting to bring the entire state of Tamil Nadu under the Saffron party's it will not happen and "no (Amit) Shah can rule Tamil Nadu," Stalin, the DMK president said in his address to the party's general council meeting. Stalin said the people need to be told on what may happen if the BJP-alliance assumed power in the state. They would stoke religion and caste-based communal violence and divide people in all manner. "People need to be told that they will not allow children to get educated, there will be no industrial growth, they will destroy Tamil Nadu's unique characteristics by imposing Hindi and by way of cultural imposition." Without mentioning actor-politician Vijay, the DMK chief said they too must be given a fitting reply. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami wished a split in the DMK-led alliance and stories like snapping of ties between AIADMK and BJP were spun ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. However, the DMK-led alliance did not break up. As a result, Palaniswami has surrendered again to the BJP by visiting Amit Shah in March 2025 in Delhi. "When the AIADMK-BJP alliance was announced by Amit Shah, Palaniswami did not even utter a those who lead the alliance in the state usually announce the alliance. However, here, Amit Shah announced it." This showed that the AIADMK has fully gone under the control of the BJP. Next, Palaniswami is desperate to to take entire Tamil Nadu to BJP's control. Live Events "That is why Amit Shah visits Tamil Nadu often. I have already made it clear. No Shah can rule Tamil Nadu." Late party patriarch M Karunanidhi and former mayor and party leader Muthu slogged for the party's growth in Madurai. Similarly, the chief minister said he too had worked for the party by hoisting party flags when Pon Muthuramalingam was the secretary of the composite Madurai district. The CM said: "Madurai is a land of sacrifice, where many people worked hard for the party. It is a matter of pride that the meet is happening in such a place. Ever since the party was founded (1949), general council meetings have been held six times in Madurai and this is the seventh time. This is the general council which is going to pave the way for the party to form the government for the seventh time." He said the general council meeting is to devise a strategy for the success of the party in the 2026 Assembly election. The headlines in newspapers by the same time next year (June, 2026) should say that the DMK formed the government for the seventh time. Tamil Nadu Assembly election is due by April-May 2026. Humility is the key leadership quality and he will never be arrogant, Stalin said, adding his faith in party workers gave him the confidence of a big win for the party in polls next year. Praising committed, resolute party workers, he said that only because of them the DMK, founded in 1949 is marching towards its centenary. "The sun is permanent. Similarly, the DMK is permanent," he said and appealed to party workers to work to make the party-led regime a permanent feature. "We can create it. You can do that. We can do that." Further, the CM said the DMK never had the "media comfort." Irrespective of whether the DMK is the ruling or opposition party, it faced increased criticism. "However, the wave of support for DMK is more that the wave of opposition. Some are trying to hide it; divert it." Despite several obstacles, which includes those through the office of the Governor and economic and political challenges posed by the BJP-led Union government, the DMK regime has elevated Tamil Nadu and it tops Indian states in terms of growth. The 2026 Assembly election is round the corner and the party has to gear up to overcome challenges from political rivals like defamatory content and lies under the guise of opinion polls. "If they try to set a narrative, we have to be one step ahead of them. Our truths should reach the people well before their lies." One of the reasons for the party's victory is its robust alliance, he said and batted for dialogue and mutual respect among electoral partners for continuation of the alliance's victory journey. Stalin underscored unity in party at all levels and appointment of youngsters in the two new party wings that were announced. The Dravidian party chief urged party functionaries to explain the government initiatives, schemes and welfare projects in their respective areas and make a comparison as regards the situation during the previous regime. Stalin emphasised on the new membership enrolment initiative and said he would himself monitor the exercise. Though the party is robust in terms of organisational prowess, strong leadership and a deep commitment to ideology, that alone will not be sufficient for electoral victory. "Booth level micro management is very important." Stalin said he would meet party functionaries constituency-wise from the first week of June and assured "one to one" conversations at that time. The party adopted resolutions including celebrating late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi's birth anniversary (June 3) as Classical language day. The party resolved to "drive away the AIADMK and BJP," and right away begin field work in order to retain power in the state following the 2026 Assembly polls.

She also didn't think she could manage "one mouthful" of the pizza. "I think you have to genuinely want to be skinny to do this," she sighed in a video on her TikTok page. "For me it was like, 'Let me lose a bit of weight'. "I don't care enough to feel like this. "I love my food!" Saffron continued to insist she doesn't believe those people who start Mounjaro and have no side effects. "When people say they have zero side effects I do think that they might be lying because I'm really struggling to get this bottle lid open because I am feeling so intensely weak at the moment," she said. "I'm sweating more than ever. "Please let me know if that's a symptom because if it's not I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm having side effects for sure and I don't know if people lie about it, don't admit it or I'm just having a hard time with it. "But this is my honest journey." Despite struggling with the impact of Mounjaro, Saffron admitted she has lost weight in the four days she's been on it - as she turned to the side and showed how "completely flat" her stomach was. She also insisted she's not trying to "discredit" the weight loss company she got her Mounjaro from, as she said: "For sure you're going to lose that weight. "This is no joke." Saffron had teamed up with weight loss company Sculpture London and had been following their Sculpture Weight Loss 3 programme alongside using Mounjaro to shed the pounds and tone up. What to do if you lose too much weight too quickly whilst on Mounjaro IF you're losing too much weight too quickly while on Mounjaro, it's important to take action to avoid potential health risks like muscle loss, malnutrition, dehydration, and fatigue. Here's what you can do: Evaluate Your Caloric Intake Mounjaro reduces appetite, which can make it easy to eat too little. If you're losing weight too fast (more than two to three lbs per week after the initial adjustment period), try: Tracking your food intake to ensure you're eating enough calories (apps like MyFitnessPal can help). Increasing protein intake to preserve muscle mass (aim for 0.6–1g per pound of body weight). Adding healthy fats and complex carbs (e.g., avocados, nuts, whole grains) for balanced energy. Adjust Your Dosage (With Doctor's Approval) If your weight loss is too rapid or causing side effects, your doctor may: Pause dose increases or lower your dosage. Adjust your treatment plan to stabilise your weight loss. Strength Training & Exercise To prevent muscle loss: Incorporate resistance training at least two to three times per week. Stay active with low-impact exercises like walking or yoga. Hydrate & Manage Electrolytes Drink enough water (Mounjaro can reduce thirst). Electrolytes matter - Consider adding magnesium, sodium, and potassium if you feel weak or fatigued. Monitor for Malnutrition & Deficiencies Rapid weight loss can cause vitamin/mineral deficiencies (especially B12, iron, and electrolytes). If you experience: Fatigue, hair loss, or dizziness, ask your doctor about supplements. Consider Further Medical Guidance If your weight loss is excessive or causing health concerns, speak with your healthcare provider. They might adjust your dosage, diet, or exercise plan to help stabilise your weight loss. Now she doesn't think she's going to be able to continue on the jabs, she has spoken to the company about how to come off them completely - and was advised to titrate back down rather than suddenly coming off completely. She quickly found she wasn't the only one to have suffered side effects though. "Yesss, it's a horrible way to go on," one person wrote in the comments. "I've tried it 2 years ago for a few months. I felt the side effects weren't even worth it. "They also felt scary." "My daughter had bad side effects - had to rush up to the walk-in," another added. "She was on all vitamin etc, all done through the doctors, she's no longer taking it - these side effects are real and horrible." "I was exactly the same, couldn't eat, felt weak, tunnel vision, I was a zombie for 4 week," a third admitted. "When I walked into the gym I almost collapsed so I stopped taking it." However, other people said it's worth trying to ride out the side effects, as they do improve. "I've been on it for 3 weeks," one wrote. "My 1st week was awful I was feeling sick, could not eat, felt dizzy and was sweating soooo much. "Stick to it, promise it does get better." However, Saffron responded by saying: "This journey is clearly not for me. "Anything that makes you feel not well is ultimately not worth it (in my opinion)."
