UDST holds film fest to mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day

The festival aimed to raise awareness and promote a culture of empowerment and equality through the art of cinema. Audience members were invited to take part in the experience by casting their votes for their favorite films. UDST, Shafallah Centre come together for job shadowing & training
Tribune News Network Doha The University of Doha for Science and Technology welcomed a group of members from the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Is'ham initiative, which aims to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism and prepare them for employment through real-life educational experiences in a professional work environment. As part of this inclusive collaboration, members from the Shafallah Centre, accompanied by job coaches, participated in both training sessions and hands-on job shadowing across key UDST locations, including the University Library and Archives. The initiative offered members valuable exposure to professional work environments, encouraging the development of self-confidence, independence, and essential workplace skills. Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, president of UDST, said: 'This initiative demonstrated the power of inclusive education and the strength of community partnerships. We were honoured to host these bright and determined members from the Shafallah and to provide them with a meaningful, hands-on work experience within the university. Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) has reaffirmed its support for the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) by adding the UDST Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Teaching STEM and TVET programs to the in-country scholarship track under 'Tomouh' program. This step reflects the Ministry and the University's shared commitment to advancing education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This announcement took place during a press conference held on UDST campus, in the presence of Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of UDST, Dr. Hareb Al-Jabri, Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ms. Noora Mohammed Al-Ansari, Director of the Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Mr. Hamad Al-Hajri, Manager of Student Services at UDST, marking a significant step forward in Qatar's pursuit of advancing STEM and TVET education.
