Changes in train services in Salem section
Due to track renewal works at Karur railway yard on June 20, 2025, the following changes will be made in some train services. A release from Salem Railway Division said Train No.16844 Palakkad Town – Tiruchi Express, scheduled to leave Palakkad at 6.30 a.m., will be terminated at Karur railway station. After completion of the works, the train will be run as an Unreserved Special Train to Tiruchi Junction. Train No.16811 Mayiladuthurai – Salem Express, scheduled to leave Mayiladuthurai Junction at 6 a.m. will be terminated at Virarakkiyam railway station in Karur district. The train will run from Mayiladuthurai Junction to Virarakkiyam only and it will not run from Virarakkiyam railway station to Salem Junction on that day. Likewise, Train No.16812 Salem – Mayiladuthurai Express, scheduled to leave from Salem Junction at 2.05 p.m., will instead leave from Karur Junction at 3.40 p.m. The train will not run from Salem Junction to Karur Junction and it will leave from Karur Junction and run up to Mayiladuthurai Junction on that day, the release added.

Trains cancelled on May 13 for Maris RoB dismantling
Trichy: In view of engineering work and dismantling of an existing road over bridge (RoB) between Trichy Fort and Mutharasanallur section of Trichy railway division , several trains have been cancelled on May 13 (Tuesday). Train No. 76810 Karur - Trichy passenger, train No. 76809 Trichy - Karur passenger, train No. 56105 Trichy - Erode passenger, train No. 16811/16812 Mayiladuthurai - Salem Express - Mayiladuthurai expresses, train No. 56810 Erode - Trichy passenger are fully cancelled on May 13. Train No. 56106 Erode - Trichy passenger leaving Erode at 8.10am on May 13 will be short terminated at Karur. Similarly, train No. 16844 Palghat Town - Trichy Express scheduled to leave Palghat Town at 6.30am on May 13 will be short-terminated at Karur. Train No. 16843 Trichy-Palghat Town Express, scheduled to leave Trichy at 1pm on May 13 will be partially cancelled between Trichy and Karur. The train will commence its journey from Karur.

Since the road overbridge between Muttarasanallur and Tiruchi Fort railway stations in the Karur—Tiruchi sector is to be dismantled, the following changes will be made in train services on May 13, as detailed below. The following train services are fully cancelled: Train No. 76821 Salem – Karur Passenger, scheduled to leave Salem Junction at 5.20 a.m.; Train No. 76810 Karur – Tiruchi Passenger, scheduled to leave Karur Junction at 7.20 a.m.; Train No. 16811 Mayiladuthurai – Salem Express, scheduled to leave Mayiladuthurai Junction at 6 a.m.; Train No. 16812 Salem – Mayiladuthurai Express, scheduled to leave Salem Junction at 2.05 p.m.; Train No. 56105 Tiruchi – Erode Passenger, scheduled to leave Tiruchi Junction at 4 p.m.; Train No. 56810 Erode – Tiruchi Passenger, scheduled to leave Erode Junction at 4.35 p.m.; Train No. 76809 Tiruchi – Karur Passenger and scheduled to leave Tiruchi Junction at 6 p.m. Likewise, the following train services will be short-terminated: Train No. 56106 Erode – Tiruchi Passenger, scheduled to leave Erode Junction at 8.10 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. The train will run from Erode to Karur only, and it will not run from Karur to Tiruchi on that day. Train No. 16844 Palakkad Town – Tiruchi Express, scheduled to leave Palakkad Town at 6.30 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. The train will run from Palakkad Town to Karur only, and it will not run from Karur to Tiruchi Junction on that day. Likewise, Train No. 16843 Tiruchchirappalli – Palakkad Town Express, scheduled to leave from Tiruchi Junction at 1 p.m. will instead leave from Karur Junction at 2.20 p.m.. The train will not run from Tiruchi Junction to Karur and it will leave from Karur and run up to Palakkad Town on that day, the release added.
