BJP State chief Madhav to visit Tirupati on Aug 12

Tirupati: BJP State president PVN Madhav who is on a Statewide tour, will be arriving in Tirupati to participate in a series of programmes on August 12. Madhav is visiting the district for the first time after he took charge as the State BJP president. His visit is intended to revitalise the BJP and make it an alternative force in the State. According to Tirupati district president Samanchi Srinivas, Madhav will begin his day-long programme in pilgrim city by participating in the RSS Shakha meeting. Later, he will take part in 'Chai Pe Charcha', an interactive programme with locals on various issues. He will also participate in a Padayatra which will conclude in Kachhapi Municipal Auditorium where he will address a district level party workers meeting. Same day in the evening will hold a meeting with industrialists and traders. Ahead of Madhav's visit a preparatory meeting was chaired by district president Samanchi Srinivas at the party office to make Madhav's visit a success. Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas called on the party leaders to mobilise activists from village level. While the party activists in the pilgrim city will hoist the party flags atop their houses to awash the city in saffron colour. TTD Board Member Bhanu Prakash Reddy, party leaders Naveen Kumar Reddy, Kola Anand, Muni Subramanyam, Chandra Reddy, Kandtiga Uma and B D Balaji were present.

The 'Black days of the Emergency of 1975' were recalled at two separate meetings conducted by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Communist Party of India(Marxist) here on Wednesday, marking the completion of 50 years of the event. Member of Parliament and BJP national spokesperson Aparajitha Sarangi, who attended the meeting organised by the party's Tirupati district unit, decried the manner in which the Congress rule plunged the entire nation into darkness with an iron hand. Samanchi Srinivas, BJP Tirupati district president, also took her around the photo exhibition organised on the occasion that shed light on the blood-curdling instances from the emergency period. 'A dark era' Similarly, CPI(M) central committee member D. Rama Devi described as 'a dark era' the days when the freedom of speech was muzzled, media made to undergo endless scrutiny and the citizens brought under a tyrannical rule. Writer Saila Kumar and veteran journalist A. Raghava also called the period as a blot on democratic India.

The residents of Tirupati, especially the younger generation comprising school and college students, vowed to stand with the Indian armed forces, who have been protecting the nation at the frontiers. Carrying a huge national flag, a large number of people participated in a Tiranga rally taken out under the aegis of Citizens for National Security from M.R. Palle junction to Annamayya Circle on Friday to celebrate the success of 'Operation Sindoor'. Students, traders, ex-servicemen, industrialists, educationists, people's representatives, community leaders, apart from leaders representing the BJP, the TDP and the Jana Sena took part in the rally. The rally passed through the arterial roads as the participants shouted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans. Students, dressed in the attire of Bharat Mata and army jawans walked ahead of the rally. BJP spokesperson and TTD board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy and party district president Samanchi Srinivas lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in taking the retaliatory action against the terrorists for the brutal killing of innocent tourists at Pahalgam. Senior leaders S. Muni Subramanyam, B. Chandrappa and P. Naveen Kumar Reddy called upon the citizens to strengthen the hands of the union government in such a critical time. Ex-servicemen recalled the tough terrain where the defence forces carried out operations. They reiterated that no reward could match their sacrifice.

Under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tirupati district president Samanchi Srinivas, a group of party members offered special prayers for the safety and success of the Indian armed forces partaking in 'Operation Sindoor' by reciting Hanuman Chalisa, at Abhaya Anjaneyaswamy temple in Bairagi Patteda, in Tirupati, on Saturday. BJP national executive committee member Somu Veerraju was the chief guest on the occasion. BJP State leaders Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Kola Anand, Muni Subramanyam and other leaders were also present. The party members prayed for the blessings of Lord Hanuman to the personnel of the three forces – Army, Navy and Air Force – in the fight against terrorists in Pakistan. According to the BJP leaders, Lord Hanuman is synonymous with victory and an ideal spirit to grant all Indians the necessary strength and courage to remain safe in the present situation.
