THREE Kaizer Chiefs youngsters under the transfer microscope
Kaizer Chiefs are spending freely before the Betway Premiership season. This means a lot of players need to pull their socks up. Mduduzi Shabalala started the 2024-2025 season encouragingly but fell off as the climax approached. Samkelo Zwane's future is also unclear, with the club pursuing holding midfielders in the market. Finally, some good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans Let the 'Mayele to Kaizer Chiefs' nonsense be a lesson to us all At the start of 2024-2025, Mdu Shabalala was a critical component in the Chiefs side, operating from the number 10 role. His output was healthy, too. However, that dwindled dramatically. After 27 league appearances, he scored four goals and claimed a solitary assist. He was limited to a substitute's cameo in Chiefs' Nedbank Cup win over Orlando Pirates. Only a bold man would predict that Mduduzi Shabalala will leave Chiefs in the winter, but his long-term prospects don't look great. The writing isn't on the wall yet, however, and it's up to the player to prove how much he wants to become a legend at the club. Pitso's son heads to Italy Mfundo 'Obrigado' Vilakazi is still only 19, so time is on his side, but a player of his talent needs to start more games, more often. If Gaston Sirino is slowly phased out of the side, then Vilakazi's route to the first team could be clearer. Meanwhile, stylish 23-year-old holding midfielder Samkelo Zwane might need to look elsewhere for opportunities. Thabo Cele and Sibongiseni Mthethwa are the likely starting pair in midfield, but Siphesihle Ndlovu's arrival and rumours of a move for Lebogang Phiri will have Zwane sweating. 'Chiefs will still finish ninth with their new signings' Chiefs star swaps 95,000 fans for 7,500-seater stadium Kaizer Chiefs youngster Samkelo Zwane could be heading on loan. Kaizer Chiefs set to show fan favourite the door?
Kaizer Chiefs are working on revamping their squad ahead of a potentially busy 2025/26 season with a continental charge. Despite losing out on a top eight finish last season, Chiefs still qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup. This came courtesy of their 2-1 victory over arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final. That also earned Chiefs their first trophy since 2015. Now both of those feats will necessitate change in the playing squad. The punished on some for a lack of quality which led to a lack of contribution. But also them having to make way for a better quality due to a higher level required on the continent. There have been quite a few rumours with regards to who Chiefs are targeting. But before those players come in, they're moving quickly to free up some space. Last week, they announced the departures of academy products Sabelo Radebe and Njabulo Blom. Following that, they have also confirmed the release of striker Ranga Chivaviro. Now according to Soccer-Laduma , midfielder Samkelo Zwane could be next out the door at Chiefs on loan. 'Soccer Laduma understands that the central midfield is a key department that Nabi wants to bolster and this could have a negative effect on Samkelo Zwane, who did not get much game time in the past season. With new faces expected to join (Chiefs), competition for Zwane will be even harder. Soccer Laduma understands Zwane's camp will meet up with management at Naturena to get some clarity on whether the player fits into the plans of the technical team. While the player is determined to fight for a spot in the team, his camp is aware of what not getting regular game time can do to his career.' Wrote the publication. Five Kaizer Chiefs players are leaving the club
Samkelo Zwane could be the headline exit as a quintet of Kaizer Chiefs players look set to leave the club. Zwane and four other fringe players have no future at Naturena. Fiacre Ntwari will leave after an underwhelming debut campaign. Talented midfield player Samkelo Zwane is one of five high-profile names linked with a likely exit from Kaizer Chiefs. The 23-year-old schemer has fallen down the pecking order. Senior statesmen Thabo Cele and Yusuf Maart hold down places. There are still question marks about Zwane's ability to do work off the ball. George Matlou, Tebogo Potsane, Zitha Kwinika and Fiacre Ntwari could all follow him out the exit door. 'Question marks surround George Matlou, Teboho Potsane, Zitha Kwinika, Fiacre Ntwari and Samkelo Zwane. Several fringe players and emerging talents could be loaned out,' iDiski Times reported. Kaizer Chiefs' search for a reliable number one continues. Image: X Neither Bruce Bvuma nor Brandon Petersen have been convincing. Fiacre Ntwari is expected to leave, so a new goalkeeper is on the agenda at Chiefs. Click for the story Let us know by leaving a comment below or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs (EXITS): R9-million fan-favourite
Kaizer Chiefs will look very different at the end of the up-and-coming PSL transfer window. Kaizer Chiefs are going to be trimming their squad. Meaning, several Amakhosi stars will leaving the club. Some players are linked with temporary exits (loans). Whilst, other Chiefs stars will be sold – permanently. The latest star linked with a departure is a fan-favourite. Samkelo Zwane is the latest Chiefs player facing a likely exit. According to SNL, Zwane could be loaned out for a season. Meaning, the talented young midfielder could be playing for another club in the PSL next season. This is because Amakhosi management still see a future for Zwane at the club. However, he is not a regular in the Chiefs midfield. So, a loan move will allow him to play more frequently. Meanwhile, he will grow and mature as a player while still belonging to Amakhosi. Therefore, the plan is to let him develope. So, he can return a stronger and better player. A total of over R10-million worth of Chiefs attackers are linked with likely exits. Ultimately, Ranga Chivaviro will likely be sold. Meanwhile, Tashreeq Morris is linked with a loan exit out of Naturena. Both players are in the same boat – they lack playing time and have failed to impress Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi management. Chivaviro has fallen out of favour with Nabi and Chiefs. Whilst, Morris scored a meager 2 goals across 20 appearances in all competitions since joining the Soweto giants from SuperSport United. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that these attackers are linked with exits.
