Drew McIntyre Takes a Brutal Dig at the Fatu Family's Legacy in the WWE

Image via WWE The Samoan Dynasty has one of the richest wrestling legacies in the history of the business. From 'High Chief' Peter Miavia to Rocky Johnson or modern greats like The Rock and Roman Reigns , the family has been at the forefront of the sport ever since their inception. And it is only natural that whenever any family member makes their debut in the WWE , the world notices. The Bloodline saga dominated the promotion for over four years, followed by The New Bloodline storyline, which pitted half a dozen family members. The point is that every single member, ranging from Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga, received widespread attention once they decided to debut in the Stamford-based promotion. And this is something that hasn't sat well with Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre Says the 'Fatu' Surname Is a Golden Ticket to Stardom Ahead of his blockbuster match against Randy Orton at Saturday Night's Main Event, the former WWE Champion sat with Kent Brown of Sports Illustrated to promote his upcoming outing. While discussing his career and the path to success, he quipped that the surname 'Fatu' holds great value and can help newcomers gain an unfair advantage over others. 'No, I couldn't really care less what your last name is. My journey is very different from basically anybody's ever. ' Drew McIntyre RIPS John Cena & CM Punk 'The Scottish Warrior' then took a sly dig at the Fatu family and quipped, 'In today's day and age, it's lucky I'm as good as I am, or I might get lost in the shuffle because I suggest to a lot of the talent backstage when they're asking for advice, 'Maybe change your last name to Fatu or something.' You might get more opportunities.' There is some truth to what the former WWE Champion said. McIntyre was 'The Chosen One' when he arrived in the promotion back in 2010. However, he had to work hard to earn the main event spot in the independent circuit and TNA as Drew Galloway before making his way back to the company and becoming its top star. On the other hand, members of the Fatu family have had the spotlight since the get-go, with Solo Sikoa feuding with every other top dog in the business, including Cody Rhodes, John Cena, and Roman Reigns. He recently won the United States title, the same as Jacob Fatu, who is also relatively new to the company.
