Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale announced: Up to 30% discount on Galaxy S24 Ultra, iPhone 15 and more

Amazon has finally announced its Independence Day sale for this year. It is called Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale and just like every year, the e-commerce platform is promising to offer up to 30 percent discount on several popular phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, iPhone 16, iPhone 15, OnePlus 13, iQOO Neo 10R, Xiaomi 15, and more. This is one of the biggest sale events of the year and it starts tomorrow for everyone. While Amazon says that the sale is already live for the Prime members, not all the deals are seemingly live today, with the offers that are listed in the teaser. Since the Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale is starting tomorrow, here is a look at some of the best phone deals that will be available starting July Great Freedom Festival sale announced: Up to 30% discount on Galaxy S24 Ultra, iPhone 15 and moreThe price of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will drop again, effectively costing Rs 79,999 during Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale. It was introduced in 2024 with a starting price tag of Rs 1,29,999, which means that one can expect about Rs 50,000 discount on this flagship device. It has an iconic Samsung Galaxy Note design and you can also expect solid raw power and an excellent photography experience out of the box. Apple fans can look for the deals that will be available on the iPhone 16, 16e, and iPhone 15. The iPhone 16e will go on sale at an effective price of Rs 49,249 and the iPhone 15 at Rs 58,249. These prices are inclusive of the bank card offers. It is currently unknown whether Amazon will also offer some flat discount. From what we have seen in the past sales, the platform offers both flat and bank discount offers to consumers to give them a better deal. If the price of the iPhone 16e drops below Rs 50,000, then it would be a good deal for many iPhone fans looking to get Apple's latest iPhone at an affordable price. The 16e was launched at Rs 59,900 in India. Another flagship phone such as the OnePlus 13 is also set to receive some discount, which is a little surprising because the device was launched earlier this year and we hardly see big discounts on fairly new OnePlus phones. It will effectively cost Rs 62,999, which would be inclusive of the bank offers. This is another solid high-end phone, which was introduced at Rs 69,999. Moving ahead, Amazon is also promising to offer the Realme GT 7 at an effective price of Rs 36,999, which is inclusive of some bank offers. It is a solid performer in its segment and people will likely love using it. The OnePlus 13R will also go on sale at the same effective price. This one was launched at Rs 42,999 in India. While Amazon hasn't revealed the exact discount details, the deal could be a combination of some flat discount and bank offers. In the lower price range, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will receive a big discount, effectively costing Rs 15,999. The Samsung Galaxy M36, Galaxy M06, iQOO Neo 10R, iQOO Z10 and more smartphones will receive big discounts if we go by the teaser that Amazon has released. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Price Slashed In Rare Double Offer

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is displayed for sale at a mobile phone store in Srinagar, Jammu and ... More Kashmir, on February 8, 2025. (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto via Getty Images) NurPhoto via Getty Images While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 stole the limelight with an aggressive pre-order deal, Samsung saved one of its better promotions for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Korean company has launched two discount vouchers that enhance trade-in prices and knock some money off the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the U.K. First up is the '7DAYS' code that knocks 10% off the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which amounts to a £124.90 ($167.30) discount if no device is traded-in. It has to be applied at checkout and expires on July 29th. Forbes Samsung Makes New 5 Year Credit Offer To Galaxy Z Fold 7 Buyers By Janhoi McGregor The second code '100TI' boosts trade-in prices by £100 ($133.94). Samsung's base trade-in valuations fall far below a rare deal it launched back in June that suddenly raised prices for used phones. But the £100 boost brings the current offer close to it. Here's a selection of today's prices with the £100 boost compared to Samsung's June deal. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra June price: £581 ($778.22), today's price: £553 ($740.71) Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus June price: £333 ($446.04), today's price: £357 ($478.18) Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra June price: £449 ($601.41), today's price: £486 ($650.97) Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra June price: £341 ($456.75), today's price: £324 ($433.98) Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max June price: £230 ($308.07), today's price: £445 ($596.05) Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max June price: £500 ($669.72), today's price: £755 ($1011.28) iPhone owners looking to switch to the Galaxy S25 Ultra are the clear winners. Not just for the increased pricing over last month's offer, but also because those valuations are more than you will get on the secondary market for the same phones. The Galaxy phones, too, are a mixed bag of slightly below or above Samsung's best trade-in promotion. This is a solid deal that's worth taking advantage of. More Yeon-je / AFP) (Photo by JUNG YEON-JE/AFP via Getty Images) AFP via Getty Images If you're in the U.K., it is a good time to trade-in your phone because Samsung is doubling down on its trade-in supremacy with a new scheme. Earlier this month the Korean company launched a standalone trade-in program pays out store credit—that can be used to buy any Samsung product—for your old phone. The company says that the store credit will last for up to five years. Alongside the new credit offer, the Korean company now accepts a wider range of devices including; Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Sony, and other handsets it doesn't normally accept. Typically, when trading-in to buy a new phone, Samsung will group any handsets not made by Apple, Google, or itself under a single 'any other Android' category, which comes with a single price. You won't get much for your Sony, OnePlus or Huawei phone from Samsung, but you wouldn't on the secondary market either. Forbes Google Slashes Pixel 9, Pixel 8 Pro Price Ahead Of Pixel 10 Launch By Janhoi McGregor The new scheme is a solid option for people looking to lock in a decent trade-in price to use later (as store credit). Phones—including the Galaxy S25 Ultra—rapidly decrease in value so sitting on your unused device is rarely a good move. What isn't clear is if these prices will change to keep up with whatever deal Samsung is running that day, or if they'll remain static. We also don't know if the scheme will come to the U.S. (I have asked). U.S. trade-in pricing is competitive and therefore often higher when compared to Europe (a trade-off for not giving away free tablets). Perhaps Samsung wants to keep its options open and not stick to static trade-in pricing for promotions similar to this Galaxy S25 Ultra deal. Or, maybe the scheme is headed Stateside after similar programs landed in Korea and France earlier this year.

Shocking moment crafty thief snatches hairdresser's £1,300 Samsung mobile

The man's cunning theft was captured on CCTV as Emma Horne saw for herself the underhand way the criminal went about making off with her phone in Warrington, Cheshire A brazen thief used a crafty technique to swipe a hairdresser's £1,300 mobile phone from under her nose. ‌ Emma Horne was working at her salon in Warrington, Cheshire, when a man clutching a newspaper came in asking for a haircut. After the 42-year-old explained she didn't cut men's hair, he then claimed to be asking for his wife so she walked behind her desk to fetch a price list. ‌ Footage shows the cap-wearing thief take the chance to unfold his newspaper and place it over her Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone that was sitting on top of the desk. The man can then be seen swiping his newspaper and her pricey mobile off the unit top and making a swift getaway without anyone noticing the device had gone. ‌ Miss Horne said she realised a few minutes after he left - but she and a client couldn't find him when they looked down a nearby street. When they returned to the salon and checked their cameras they found the man's cunning theft was captured on CCTV. The incident has been reported to Cheshire Police and the force have confirmed enquiries are ongoing. Emma, from Warrington, Cheshire, said: "It happened so fast he was literally in the salon for minutes. I went behind the counter to get a price list for him, then he put the newspaper over my phone and swiped it. It was gone within seconds. I felt angry and I was dead upset because it's the fact that someone came and took my property right in front of my face. He was standing right next to me." ‌ "He actually looks at the cameras and everything so he knew the cameras were there because he looks right at it. About three minutes after he left, I was like, 'where's my phone?'. Panic set in because I've got my whole work schedule and everything on my phone. Everything's just gone. "I went straight into the bank and put a freeze on my cards because I've got savings accounts and everything on there. I can't access my money now. It happened so fast. The anger is setting in now. I'm quite frustrated with it because I've got to go out and get myself a new phone and everything now. These people think they can go around and do this and get away with it." ‌ Emma says she bought the phone eight months ago and had only recently finished paying for it. She insists she usually welcomes everybody into her salon but believes she'll be more wary of potential customers in future. Emma said: "I feel a bit wary about things now. He did it so fast, we just didn't see him. It makes you feel a bit uneasy. We've got cameras for our own security and they're still coming in and doing it. We're quite friendly in our salon and we welcome everybody but I suppose you've still got to be on your guard because these people are out there going around nicking phones." A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 11.38am on Tuesday 24 June, police were called to a report of theft at a hair salon in Time Square, Warrington. The caller reported that approximately 30 minutes earlier, an unknown man had entered the salon posing as a client, and stole a mobile phone. Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police."

Orienting it closer to the edge, he locks a firm grip on Emma's precious device. The other hairdresser and clients in the background remained oblivious as the thief executed his fiendish plan. Finally, as Emma locates the flyer and hands it to him, the man quickly grabs his newspaper, with the phone underneath it and firmly in his grip, and walks briskly out of the establishment.
