Inside Glasgow's Airport's new American diner which opens today

Sanfords American Diner opened its doors to customers in the departure lounge on August 8, as part of Glasgow Airport's £3.7 million investment to transform its food, beverage and retail offering. The new diner offers a family-friendly menu including favourites such as burgers, waffles, fried chicken, pizzas and thick milkshakes. The opening of Sanfords follows the successful launch of Primo Volo, an Italian café that opened in July. Both venues are part of the airport's efforts to enhance the passenger experience. (Image: Glasgow Airport) Sanfords, operated by TRGC, replaces the former Frankie and Benny's unit and is designed to cater to families, solo travellers and groups. Craig Norton, head of retail development at Glasgow Airport, said: 'We're excited to welcome Sanfords to our departure lounge, adding even more variety and energy to our food and beverage line-up. 'Following the fantastic response to Primo Volo, Sanfords continues our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience and delivering a modern, welcoming terminal environment.' (Image: Glasgow Airport) The airport's wider improvement programme also includes enhancements to the Bird and Signet bar and kitchen, the relocation of the Stack and Still pancake unit, and new Accessorize and Travelex units. There will also be upgrades to both airside and landside retail spaces, as well as improvements to the departure lounge. The investment is part of a £350 million package after AGS Airports, which comprises Glasgow Airport, was acquired by AviAlliance earlier this year. As well as ensuring a comprehensive transformation of Glasgow Airport's main terminal building, the programme will also direct investment into airfield infrastructure and energy efficiency initiatives. AGS is committed to significantly enhancing the passenger experience while ensuring the airport is equipped to meet the growing and future demand from both customers and airline partners.
