POPULAR restaurant chain Frankie and Benny's is closing its Glasgow Airport store as bosses hope to 'shake things up.'
The family-friendly New York Italian restaurant is closing its Glasgow Airport location for good, the airport announced yesterday.

Frankie and Benny's have announced the closure of their Glasgow Airport restaurant.

Located in the departure lounge, the restaurant served travellers seven days a week from 3:15am until the last flight of the day.
The chain will be replaced with American-style eatery Sanford's, as airport bosses promise to "shake things up."
Sanford's have announced that they will be offering "unreal" milkshakes, delicious burgers and "plenty more" American diner classics.
In a Facebook post, Glasgow Airport said: "Time to shake things up!
"Introducing Sanfords, an exciting new addition coming soon to our departure lounge.
"Bringing you unreal milkshakes, delicious burgers, and plenty more of those American diner classics that'll have your taste buds singing.
"While we're waving a fond farewell to Frankie & Benny's, we're so excited to welcome Sanfords to our departure lounge.
"Could this be your new pre-flight fuelling spot?"
Commenters on the post seemed less positive as Frankie and Benny's had provided reasonably priced food with good gluten free options.
Eddie Galligan wrote: "Just what the scottish public need, more overpriced gunk from across the pond."

The Gluten Free Glasgow & West of Scotland recommendation page asked: "Will they have gluten free options? F&B was always a good option for us gf folk."
Despite this, it had an average TripAdvisor rating of 2.7 as visitors complained of overpriced low-quality food, as well as issues with menu items being unavailable.

Founded in 1995, Frankie and Benny's run over 50 restaurants across the UK, offering a wide range of pastas, pizzas and burgers.
Another new opening is anticipated this summer, as the pasta and spritz bar Primo Volo Italiano Kitchen and Caffe is also set to open.
Other restaurants still serving the airport include Burger King, Pret A Manger, Tortilla and Greggs.

The tourist enjoyed an ice cream sundae in the review video that went viral on social media An American tourist thinks he's found 'the best ice cream in the UK' after visiting a seaside town. Nathan Leazer, a musician and content creator, has been documenting his travels on TikTok as @nathanleazermusic. In a recent video, he visited Broadstairs, a seaside town on the Kent coast, and reviewed Morelli's Gelato. The ice cream parlour first opened in Broadstairs in 1932, and Nathan loved visiting the historic parlour, which overlooks the picturesque Viking Bay. Nathan told his followers: "You know what I love about England? "I'm here in a place called Broadstairs, and I'm about to go have the best ice cream in the UK from a place called Morelli's. It's like an old diner." He then filmed himself chatting with the staff about the parlour's 93-year history, before showcasing the ice cream sundae he ordered. "Look at that," he praised. "Yeah, buddy." The TikTok video went viral, gaining over 200,000 views and more than 17,000 likes. It also received lots of comments from ice cream fans who love the parlour. A viewer commented: "Omg, I did NOT expect to see Morelli's on my fyp today!! My grandparents used to go on dates there together and have taken all of us since then! It's such a special place." Evening hot waffle with ice cream. Yummy. Not the cheapest but you pay for the experience. If you visit Broadstairs, you must go to Morelli's!"
