Neel Samarthh: People are more inclined towards showing off now rather than maintain privacy
Actor Neel Samarthh, known for his roles in Tera Kya Hoga Alia, Waaris, Kundali Bhagya, and Sapnon Ki Chalang, is currently seen in Sabse Bada Rupaiya. He says that while people often talk about the need for privacy, social media is a platform that is often used to show off your personal life. The actor who will soon be seen in the web series Rose Garden, adds that people often post so much content just to talk about their achievements, routine and where they are currently. 'I feel that people nowadays are more inclined towards showing off. It honestly saddens me that many have lost touch with the essence of being wise. There's a growing sense of pretentiousness constantly posting countless stories and sharing every detail of their daily routine and whereabouts. What they often don't realize is that such overexposure could one day lead to serious consequences,' he says. He adds that he has seen this happen even with his close friends. 'I've seen this firsthand with some friends who have done reality shows. After coming out, they've started posting things that neither make sense nor serve any real purpose. I do understand, though, that for many, it has become an addiction, an endless cycle of seeking validation. But in the long run, this could seriously affect their mental well-being. I just hope people become aware of this before it's too late. I also have people around me who are completely broke and deeply unhappy in real life, yet their social media tells a completely different story, one of joy, success, and perfection. It's heartbreaking to witness. I genuinely wish I could tell them to stop chasing fake attention and instead focus on discovering what truly brings them peace and soulful happiness,' he says. Talking about himself, he says, 'If I talk about myself, I genuinely believe in real things. I don't want my life to be an illusion created for social media. I know some people might say I don't post regularly or that I'm not very active online but honestly, my real life matters more to me than putting on a show for the internet. I don't want to show off; I want to live in the moment, feel nature, and truly experience life. Every moment I spend with myself, I want it to be authentic. ' The actor adds that being active on social media isn't really the only way to do well in the industry. 'People often say that to get work, it's important to constantly showcase yourself on social media. I partially agree with that, but not entirely. If that were completely true, then every influencer would've already become an actor or a star. There's more to success than just visibility; it's about depth, talent, and staying true to who you are,' he says. Actor Neel Samarthh , known for his roles in Tera Kya Hoga Alia, Waaris , Kundali Bhagya , and Sapnon Ki Chalang, is currently seen in Sabse Bada Rupaiya . Unlike many chasing fast fame , Neel believes in taking life as it comes, rooted in simplicity and spiritual trust. 'Every phase passes. Nothing stays forever,' Neel shares, echoing a calm acceptance of the highs and lows of showbiz. Reflecting on today's entertainment scene, he notes, 'Social media has opened many doors for newcomers, but earlier actors didn't have these chances. Still, I feel something important is missing — the quality.' With honesty, he adds, 'There's a lot of quantity today, but not enough real talent. Everyone wants quick fame, but being an artist is about feeling the pain and struggle too.' Neel also points out the shifting priorities in casting today. 'Yes, sometimes followers matter more than skill. But I believe if a star is meant to shine, no one can stop it. It may take time, but it will shine,' he says with quiet conviction. On personal relationships, he keeps it unstructured. 'I never begin a friendship or relationship with a fixed plan. I'm like a blank paper — the universe paints the colours. And it always knows better than me,' he smiles. Criticism and trolling don't shake him either. Recalling his mother's wisdom, he shares, 'Even if the whole world gets upset, don't upset the one above (God). People will talk. Let them. You just keep walking.' Neel is clear about his values: 'I don't fake anything. I just flow. I've left myself in the hands of the universe.' As for reality shows, he says simply, 'If something takes away my peace, innocence, or simplicity — I stay away from it.'

Actor Neel Samarthh , who has been part of shows like Tera Kya Hoga Alia , Kundali Bhagya, Waaris and Sapnon Ki Chalang and will be seen in web series Rose Garden, says that he was keen to explore OTT and films. The actor adds that he would like to experiment as an actor on other platforms as well. 'I would have definitely taken up another television project, but at this point in my journey, I feel it's time to take a step forward and explore web series and films. These formats not only allow me to challenge myself creatively but also offer the flexibility to shoot for a few days and dedicate some time to myself. Television has played a pivotal role in shaping my career whatever I am today because of it. It truly brought out the artist in me. However, as we all aim to grow with time, I too wish to evolve and embrace new opportunities. That said, I remain open to television, especially if the role is meaningful and performance-driven,' he says. Talking about TV, he says, 'I would love to take up roles on television that are equally male-oriented, as most shows tend to focus primarily on female-centric narratives. While television has certainly evolved over the years, I personally find web shows to be more real and relatable. They allow for subtle, natural performances and storytelling that feels closer to real life. Plus, the freedom to binge-watch or watch on-the-go makes OTT content all the more appealing to today's audience' As for his future plans, he adds, 'I'm focused on doing quality work rather than taking up anything and everything that comes my way. I've always believed in quality over quantity. I'm looking forward to roles that truly challenge me as an actor.
