Sayyid Fahd offers Eid Al Adha prayers at Al Khor Mosque
MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Friday offered Eid Al Adha prayers at Al Khor Mosque in Muscat. Alongside HH Sayyid Fahd, the prayers were performed by some members of the Royal family, ministers, advisors and officials. Sayyid Fahd prayed to the Almighty to grant His Majesty and the government success to achieve further growth and prosperity for this dear homeland. — Photos by Mohamed al Rashdi The prayers were led by Dr Shaikh Kahlan bin Nabhan al Kharousi, Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, who delivered the Eid sermon. On this happy occasion, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers expressed greetings to all citizens and residents. He prayed to Allah the Almighty for the return of this happy occasion on His Majesty the Sultan and the Royal family at a time they enjoy good health and happiness. He also prayed to the Almighty to grant His Majesty and the government success to achieve further growth and prosperity for this dear homeland. Joint meeting to help formulate common visions
MUSCAT: The Council of Ministers and the Majlis Ash'shura on Sunday held a joint meeting at the Council of Ministers' premises in accordance with the Basic Law of the State and the Council of Oman Law. The meeting was aimed to support ongoing cooperation among institutions of the state and formulate common visions that contribute to the implementation of public policies and the promotion of the country's supreme interest. HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, and members of the Council of Ministers received Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash'shura, and members of the Majlis Ash'shura Office. At the outset of the meeting, HH Sayyid Fahd underscored the importance of the Majlis Ash'shura's coordination with the government towards enhancing the process of comprehensive development witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman. He reviewed means of supporting cooperation between the two councils in a manner that maintains efforts to serve the nation and its citizens. The meeting also laid emphasis on the priority accorded by the Council of Ministers to the role of the Majlis Ash'shura as a partner in the nation-building process. In pursuance of this approach, service ministers periodically respond to the Majlis Ash'shura's request (to the ministers) to submit ministerial statements that explain efforts made by government units to implement projects, according to the priorities of each phase to provide the best services to citizens. The proposals and opinions of the Majlis Ash'shura members are studied and incorporated into economic and social plans and programmes. The joint meeting reviewed several topics, including continued coordination and cooperation with the government, as well as ways to enhance community awareness programmes and activate the role of the Coordination Committee that liaises between the two councils. For their part, the Majlis Ash'shura chairman and the members of the Majlis Ash'shura's Office expressed the importance of the joint meeting and the positive outcomes that it yielded. They spoke about various matters of significance to the public interest. They also expressed their thanks and appreciation to the government and to the country's leadership for their efforts in supporting cooperation between the two councils. Oman, China explore ways to enhance trade relations
MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, on Monday received Xiao Jie, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, and his accompanying delegation. The guest conveyed greetings and best wishes of the leadership in China to the leadership in Oman and the Omani people. After welcoming the Chinese official and his delegation, HH Sayyid Fahd emphasised the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, which continue to witness significant development, reflecting both sides' commitment to advancing the interests of their peoples. The meeting explored ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation, including encouraging more joint investment projects in renewable energy. The meeting also addressed a set of regional and international developments. On his turn, the Chinese official expressed his pleasure at the visit, which contributes to elevating cooperation between the two nations across various fields. He affirmed China's appreciation for Oman's efforts in supporting domestic development and strengthening friendly relations with countries worldwide. He also praised the constructive discussions held with the Chairman of the State Council and Omani officials, noting their positive impact on advancing Omani-Chinese relations. Sayyid Fahd receives Secretary-General of ITUC
MUSCAT: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received on Tuesday Luc Triangle, Secretary-General of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). The guest is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman to attend a symposium titled Towards a More Sustainable Social Dialogue, organised by the General Federation of Oman Workers. After welcoming the guest, HH Sayyid Fahd expressed the Sultanate of Oman's appreciation for the constructive role undertaken by the ITUC in encouraging cooperation among trade unions worldwide. He also underlined the Sultanate of Oman's full cooperation with the ITUC through the General Federation of Oman Workers, which seeks to protect workers' interests, raise their productive efficiency, consolidate work values, develop their skills, refine their capabilities, and enhance their professional level. HH Sayyid Fahd pointed out that Oman places great importance on supporting the three parties to the production process—the government, represented by the Ministry of Labour; business owners, represented by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI); and workers, represented by the General Federation of Oman Workers. This support aims to enable each party to fulfil its responsibilities in achieving the objectives defined by the Omani Labour Law, with the prime goal of improving the work environment and conditions for all workers in the country. The meeting reviewed cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the ITUC and explored ways to strengthen it across various areas. It also examined the potential for exchanging expertise in a manner that serves workers' interests and contributes to sustaining the positive rates of comprehensive and sustainable development in Oman. For his part, the Secretary-General of the ITUC expressed his gratitude for the well-organised preparations for the symposium. He affirmed that Oman is one of the leading countries in regulating trade union work and protecting workers' rights.
