Seeb, Al Shabab all set for Super Cup clash in Salalah

MUSCAT: HM Cup champions Al Shabab will eye to lift their maiden Super Cup title as they will take on Seeb, defending champions of Omantel league, on Saturday night. The match will take place at Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, in presence of Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Chairman of Oman Football Association (OFA) and top dignitaries. The match will kick off at 7:30 pm, to commence officially the new domestic footballing season 2025/2026. This is the second time that Salalah has hosted the Super Cup following successful organisation of Super Cup in 2022 edition in which Seeb defeated Al Nahdha 2-0 at the same venue. Ahead of their arrival, the two sides geared up for the season-opening clash through series of warm up sessions in their internal camps. Al Shabab, under technical guidance of Omani experienced coach Hassan Rustam, has bolstered their ammunition ahead of the new season. Seeb team during the training The Champions of HM Cup added many new faces including: Jameel al Yahmadi, returning to his team after some successful seasons in Qatar, alongside Juma al Habsi and Salah al Dohani. Key renewals for Al Shabab including: Hatim al Roushdi, Sami al Ajmi, Musab al Mamari, Yaqdhan al Shanfari, Islam al Hinai, Rashid al Hosni, AbdulMalik al Badri, Mohammed al Ghafri, Yousef al Malki, Mahmood al Khusaibi, Ahed al Hudaifi, Mahmood Mabrook, Majid al Saadi, Badar al Alawi and Yassin al Shyiadi. On the other hand, Seeb Club will look to add another achievement following their last title in 2022. Seeb board directors decided to appoint the Romanian coach Valeriu Tița to lead the coaching staff of the team. The newly Romanian coach will depend on many key players in today's night clash including: Marwan al Siyabi who returned after a season with Al Nasr, Abdullah Fawaz, Oman national team midfielder who signed for one year, Musab al Shaqsi, striker from Bahla Club. The Super Cup match will be followed by an upcoming Four-Team Tournament in Salalah too during July 27 to August 3. The high-profile pre-season event will feature Seeb, Al Shabab, Al Nahdha (Omantel League runners-up) and Salalah-based giants Dhofar and Al Nasr.
