Vanderpump Rules Scheana Shay explains why she has been 'depressed' for the past six months

Scheana Shay has been "feeling depressed" for the past six months. The 40-year-old reality star - who became known an original cast member on the Bravo series 'Vanderpump Rules' - took part in the Fox singing competition 'The Masked Singer' earlier this year, but knew when she signed up for it that it wasn't a great idea and it left her feeling incredibly low. Speaking on her 'Scheananigans' podcast, she said: "I have really just been feeling depressed the last six months. It was something that I kept trying to just mask and say, 'No, I'm fine. It'll go away'. "But it all started around 'The Masked Singer'. "I got asked to do the show. I immediately was like, 'Hard pass, absolutely not.' I didn't care how much money they're paying me. I was not going to go on another show on national television just to get made fun of. "This was something that was so far out of my comfort zone. That was so scary to go on a show that's primetime national television." Scheana - who competed as Bat and gave a rendition of Sabrina Carpenter's hit 'Espresso' but was eliminated soon after - recalled having a "meltdown" when she left the programme and immediately fell t that she was "not good enough" for any of it. She said: "I totally had a meltdown in my trailer. I'm like, 'This is why I didn't want to do this show. I'm not good enough. I get sent home first. Now everyone's going to make fun of me. 'I just wanted to put myself out there. "I just was like, 'Maybe I up my meds a little bit.' But then I started grinding my teeth a lot at night. So I'm like, 'No, I'll just go back to like 25 mg.' As if that's enough Zoloft for anyone. It's not. I've learned that and I'm now at 75 mg and considering 100 mg." Scheana was so traumatised by the whole incident that she had to consult both her psychiatrist and her therapist for help just in time for the holiday season but then she had to deal with the LA wildfires as they ripped across her hometown in January. She added: "In that time, I was able to talk to my psychiatrist and able to talk to my therapist. Then it's the holidays. We're getting into Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and then wildfires across Los Angeles It was just a few really heavy months emotionally. Then we're in March and the show's airing. 'Now I really need to focus on what's been brewing and what's going on. Because I felt like getting sent home first was part of it — but it couldn't be all of it."

Lisa Vanderpump hits out at 'nasty' Scheana Shay and Kyle Richards on Watch What Happens Live

returned to Bravo's Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, and did not hold back on dishing out the criticism. The 64-year-old and her husband Ken Todd, 79, launched a bar and restaurant empire with restaurants including SUR, Villa Blanca and TomTom which then formed the base of her reality TV empire with Vanderpump Rules. Scheana Shay, a star from the show, announced in January that she is releasing a new memoir coming in which she has promised to spill the 'tea' on Lisa. Lisa savagely responded to Scheana's claim and also addressed Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards's claim that she 'almost' bought a house next to her. A viewer called into the show to ask Lisa about Scheana's upcoming memoir, and if Scheana gave her any kind of 'heads up' about it. Lisa said: 'Oh good Lord. Well, that's probably just to sell the book because she hasn't got anything else to say.' Lisa added: 'Do you know what? I don't know, I've heard she's said some nasty things. Something nasty recently she said something like, I only call her when I need something. True dat, right? 'I've got 600 people that I work with. I think the last time I needed her was when I invited her to my house to Teddy's birthday. So yes, that's when I called her.' Toward the end of the episode, Andy mentioned that Kyle, at the recent Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reunion, said she almost bought a new house across the street from Lisa, and asked her the top five things she would do if Kyle did move into that house. Lisa said: 'Ok, first thing, put my house on the market. However my doorbell ring would be. Goodbye, Kyle. 'I'd have an electric fence that would sort out that straight hair she's got. I would get my swans are attack swans.' Anything else? Lisa said Scheana's promise would not be fulfilled as there is nothing for her to spill When Andy mentioned that Kyle didn't end up buying the house, Lisa said: 'No, because the offer wasn't accepted or what she says. But she's not always totally transparent as we've seen on the show. 'This house is 15 foot from me. She went there four times. 'This house used to be Channing Tatum's. I used to have a plan to dig a tunnel underneath the road to get to Channing Tatum, but he sold it.' Lisa was also asked about Jax Taylor opening up about his addiction issues, on the topic she said: 'Oh, gosh. I mean, it's very upsetting, the whole thing, you know? 'Obviously being so supportive of them together as a couple. But I just hope he really takes it seriously because it's not just about going to rehab, is it? It's about the work that you've got to do afterwards. He's got to distance himself from anybody that's doing that. He's really got to take it seriously.'

Scheana Shay Made a "Big" Change to Summer Moon's Bedroom (PHOTOS)

Scheana Shay knows the smallest milestones can bring kids the most joy. The Vanderpump Rules alum proved this on Tuesday, February 11, when she revealed the latest upgrade to Summer Moon Honey Davies' bedroom. Scheana began by posting a still from her Nanit baby monitor, which captured her 3-year-old daughter sound asleep next to the family cat, Salem. 'Best friends,' she captioned the adorable photo, shared on Summer Moon's Instagram. Several minutes later, Scheana revealed that the pictured toddler bed had been removed from the room, as Summer Moon just received her first 'BIG girl bed!' 'Officially a big BIG girl,' the former SUR-ver captioned a snap of the bedroom upgrade. The white wooden piece, which appeared to be twin-sized, went perfectly with Summer Moon's girly room decor. The bed was covered with a crisp white quilted comforter, powder pink pillowcases, and the cutest plush bunny rabbit. Scheana went on to post another baby monitor image showing Summer Moon catching some Zs in her new bed while Salem was cuddled up near her feet. The Vanderpump Rules mom teased the room change back in December when she posted a photo of her, Summer Moon, and Salem sleeping side-by-side in the aforementioned toddler bed. 'How many can fit in one toddler bed?!' she asked in the Instagram Story. 'I think it's time we upgrade the year since Scheana and Brock Davies purchased their Valley home, the longtime couple has made many changes to the property. They redid their driveway, constructed a new fence, installed garage wall panels, and — perhaps the most impressive — built an in-home music studio. 'Part 1 of building summer her very own quiet room,' he captioned a June 2024 video of him and his girl painting the spandrel. 'Summer love helping, she painted all the walls by herself and I just help her today in the job site.' The toddler also accompanied her dad to a home goods store, where she hand-selected fabric for her 'study room.' Brock documented the shopping trip in a May 2024 Reel, which showed Summer Moon gravitating toward pinks, purples, and whites. 'We'll paint the wall pink,' Brock told the little girl. 'I think that's a good idea,' she replied. 'It's just so pretty.' Want to know how Summer Moon reacted to her family's new home? Click here.
