How Brock Davies Reacted to Scheana Shay's Memoir

Cosmopolitan25-07-2025
What's a guy to do when his reality TV star wife writes a memoir detailing how he cheated on her when she was carrying their child? Go on her podcast and tell his side of the story, obviously. During a July 25 appearance on the Scheananigans podcast, Brock Davies opened up about cheating on Scheana Shay, and revealed how he reacted to Scheana exposing his affair in her memoir, My Good Side.
Earlier this month, Scheana shocked fans with an excerpt from her new book, revealing that Brock had cheated on her in 2020 when she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon. Per the excerpt, she didn't find out until he came clean in 2023, in the wake of Scandoval, and fans were able to deduce that the two had been able to patch things up, but no further details were released at the time.
Now that the book has finally hit the shelves, it's Brock's turn to tell his side of the story. 'It was a sexual affair. There was no dating. There was no courting. It was just purely that: Meet up and then we had sex,' he said on Scheananigans.
According to the former Vanderpump Rules star, he carried on this affair for three-weeks before breaking things off. 'I felt horrible about it,' he recounted, but, he said, he compartmentalized and once he decided to end the affair, he moved on. 'I believed I was never going to do it again and we could just move past this,' he said.
Now that he's had five years to process, Brock says that at the time he was 'scared of being a parent again'—he is also dad to two children, Eli and Winter, and at the time of Scheana's pregnancy, there were many reports on their strained relationship. 'I believed what I read. I believed I was a bad dad,' he continued, saying that he now believes he was using fear as a way to justify his actions and take 'an easy way out.'
As for why he kept it a secret for so long, Brock said he had no excuse. 'I was an absolute coward. That man was a coward,' he said. 'He wasn't thinking about protecting you, he was just thinking about protecting himself, saving face.'
So, when Scheana told Brock she wanted to write about the affair in her memoir, he supported her. 'When you came to me about the book and we had a conversation about it, at the end of the day, this was your story to tell,' he said. 'When you told me about it, I said, 'I support you, and then I will read it once you have written your book, because I don't want to have any influence on it.'
You know what that is? Growth.

Jacqueline & Wagner (Week 3) This high-flying, wild-swinging couple is not to root for — while also crossing our fingers and toes that they don't fall to the ground. Messoudi Brothers (Week 3) Yes, these were the brothers who managed to undress and swap outfits… all while juggling enormous knives from across the stage. Jessica Sanchez (Week 3) A semifinalist from the show's first-ever season, Sanchez returned to AGT in a big way with her Golden Buzzer-winning performance of Benson Boone's 'Beautiful Things.' Team Recycled (Week 4) What began as a small group of dancers on stage quickly evolved into 'an event,' with performers appearing throughout the entire auditorium. Zak Mirz (Week 4) This endearing magician used his daughter's favorite things to create an impressive act the judges couldn't resist. Chuck Adams (Week 4) We've never heard the Goo Goo Dolls' 'Iris' sung quite like this before — and we mean that in the best way. Gendai (Week 4) Direct from Japan, this performer combines light and dance to create a truly unique experience. Cole Swensen & Judy (Week 4) We would have loved Swensen's performance of Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida' even if Swensen wasn't joined on the cello by his mom — but that did make us love it more. TT Boys (Week 4) These flippin' incredible acrobats have been performing together for 20 years, and it shows in their confident, undeniable connection. Crash Adams (Week 4) Already a viral sensation, this band found even more success after their audition; their original song 'Optimist' climbed the charts, surpassing the likes of Justin Bieber and Chappell Roan. Astrid Jorgensen (Week 4) This Australian vocalist managed to turn the AGT audience into a choir all its own, resulting in a surprisingly beautiful group performance of Toto's 'Africa.' The Funkateer Dancers (Week 4) This old-school Michigan foursome had everyone cheering for their fancy footwork — and had Terry Crews hitting his Golden Buzzer. Birmingham Youth Choir (Week 4) We're still feeling the joy from this gospel choir's Golden Buzzer-winning, Sister Act-inspired audition. The Boykinz (Week 4) Terry Crews hit his other Golden Buzzer for these sisters from Georgia, whose singing, dancing routine had everyone ready to giddy-up. Scheana Shay's Book Reveals Huge List of A-List Hookups

romantic portfolio was a source of intrigue on Vanderpump Rules. The VPR alum notably had an affair with Eddie Cibrian in 2006. The details of which, came out on the show. The Scheananigans podcast host is baring it all in her new book, My Good Side. It's not just Brock Davies' liaisons coming to light in his wife's book. Scheana is getting very honest about hooking up with A-listers and making rounds on the party circuit. It's all in good fun, and something that could generate more interest. Perhaps for a sequel even. Which A-list stars has Scheana Shay hooked up with? In her autobiography, which hit the market Tuesday, July 22, Scheana described re-evaluating her love life after a series of A-list romantic shenanigans. 'I said to myself, okay Scheana, you've tried dating (or at least hanging out and hooking up with) all of these celebrities — Jesse Metcalfe, Eddie Cibrian, John Mayer, Shemar Moore, Josh Hopkins, Shane West, Jesse McCartney, JC Chasez, Adrian Grenier, Ricardo Chavira, William Tell, two actors from The Notebook, and a few NFL, NBA, and MLB players, to name a few — and that's not really working out. It's time to switch things up and date someone who's under the radar: I didn't want any of the fanfare or complications that came with being linked to someone famous. I wanted to be with someone who was grounded,' she wrote. These days, Scheana told Us Weekly she doesn't think she could pull the same list off. Even if she 'was single and not a mom.' It's 'such a different time' now for elite partying. She joked, 'I don't know how I did it in my early 20s — people don't believe me!' The Good As Gold singer continued, 'Social media has completely changed the life of celebrity, privacy, going out. [In the past], any night you could be at a club and like, 'Oh, I'm at Leonardo DiCaprio's table.' And then Cuba Gooding Jr. walks up. Now Justin Timberlake's here — and I'm just the girl at the table. What is life?'' Catch Vanderpump Rules streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland. Scheana Shay Details 'Really Scary' Near-Death Experience While Giving Birth to Daughter Summer Moon

The reality TV star welcomed her daughter Summer Moon in April 2021NEED TO KNOW Scheana Shay is opening up about her "really scary" near-death birth experience The Vanderpump Rules star shared she had HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening pregnancy complication often considered a variant of preeclampsia Shay welcomed daughter Summer Moon in April 2021 with husband Brock DaviesScheana Shay is opening up about her "really scary" birth experience. While joining Not Skinny But Not Fat host Amanda Hirsch on her podcast to talk about her new memoir My Good Side, the Vanderpump Rules star, 40, spoke about everything from the biggest dramas on the hit Bravo show to her near-death birth experience. Shay, who's a mom to daughter Summer Moon, 4, discussed her "really scary" experience with HELLP syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets), a rare pregnancy complication that mainly affects the blood and liver and can be fatal. "I was perfectly comfortable pregnant," Shay began, adding that she would have stayed pregnant for 11 months if she could have done that. However, Shay explained there was a caveat in waiting out her pregnancy. "I'm supposed to go back to work on whatever it was, like May 2 [or] May 3. And that date is not changing. So we can wait out the pregnancy, see a week or two weeks, but then I could be on camera and my water breaks." She went on to explain that she and her doctor both agreed that she needed as much time as possible to adjust to being a new mom before returning to work. Ultimately, they both decided to induce her around her 40-week appointment. "While I was in labor — about 15 hours in — they tell me I have preeclampsia, [and] they need to put me on this magnesium," she said. "It was so scary. I'm shaking uncontrollably. I'm like, oh my god. I'm killing my baby because I'm trying to force her out so I can film a TV show. What is wrong with me?" "Thank God they did induce me because what if I did just go into labor, and I had a stroke and died because we didn't have enough time to monitor my blood pressure and her heart rate," she said. "It could have gone so much worse if I wasn't being monitored for so long, so carefully." Shay shares her daughter with her husband Brock Davies, 35. In her new memoir My Good Side, Shay spoke about wanting to grow her family with her husband, following her experience giving birth naturally. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Shay said that although she's not yet ready for another child, she intends to explore the surrogate route "eventually." "He and I have had several conversations about it, and you know what, if it just wasn't in the cards, that's okay, but we are going to explore the surrogate route eventually," she shared. "I froze my eggs seven years ago, so now he's just got to fertilize them." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. "And one step at a time, I'm not ready for another baby just yet, and I want to enjoy more time with Summer before we have a baby and we're changing diapers and we're trying to travel," she continues. "And it is just going to change the entire dynamic of our little family unit." While Shay said she's "really happy" with how their family is now, she's open to reevaluating things after her daughter Summer begins kindergarten. "Even finding a surrogate, it's going to be a long process, so I'm open to it," she continued. "I would love for Summer to have a sibling. I'm just not there yet, but I'm ready to take the next steps soon after book tour. I need to just get through the book tour and then we can talk baby." Read the original article on People
