Borussia Dortmund shortlist Mexican talent Rodrigo Huescas
Borussia Dortmund's priorities in the upcoming transfer window remain a central-midfielder and attacker, but the Bundesliga side are also looking to strengthen their defence. According to Bild, die Schwarzgelben have added Rodrigo Huescas to their shortlist. The Copenhagen right-back is also wanted by West Ham and Marseille, and should Ramy Bensebaini leave the club in the summer, a move for the Mexican starlet could be feasible. Advertisement Dortmund are only currently watching the defender, who is considered an attacking player, which would suit Niko Kovac's back-three system and being able to play at wing-back. But Bild add that with Julian Ryerson and Yan Couto already vying for one position on the right-side of defence, a move is only likely should Bensebaini depart with Ryerson then switching to the left and Huescas coming in as a back-up for Couto. Why Julian Brandt's Borussia Dortmund future hangs in the balance
Julian Brandt is in the final 18 months of his contract at Borussia Dortmund, and it's uncertain as to whether the German's future is at the club. As reported by , it's unclear as to whether there will be contract negotiations to extend Brandt's current deal beyond 2026. One reason for this is it's not clear known if Borussia Dortmund will be playing Champions League football next season. Die Schwarzgelben sit 10th in the Bundesliga, seven points behind Freiburg who occupy the final UCL spot. But after Niko Kovac's first league win as Dortmund head coach will certainly give the club a boost heading into Saturday's game against St. Pauli. Champions League qualification would mean that Sebastian Kehl and Lars Ricken would be able to meet Brandt's demands. Secondly, the club want to wait and see how Brandt ends the season. The 28-year-old has three goals and five assists in 19 Bundesliga games this season, and five assists in nine Champions League games, but the player's form and performances have always come under scrutiny. Three Premier League sides interested in Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens
reports that three Premier League clubs are showing interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens as the club continues to struggle on the pitch. As the season goes on, European qualification especially into the Champions League looks more and more unlikely for Dortmund. This would mean they have to sell a player this summer to offset the loss of money and it is increasingly likely that Gittens will be the one to leave. Die Schwarzgelben will demand around €100m for the 20-year-old. Tottenham are said to have been interested in Gittens for a while now and could move in the summer, while Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be monitoring the situation. Bayern Munich have previously been linked for a move for Gittens in the summer as well. What doesn't help the situation is that when Gittens was substituted against Bochum at the weekend, he was seemingly attacked verbally by the Dortmund fans and needed to be calmed down by his teammates in the 2-0 loss to their local rivals. Dortmund are currently 11th in the Bundesliga table and Gittens is their second-highest scorer his season with seven goals in 22 Bundesliga games, behind Serhou Guirassy who is on nine goals in 19 matches.
