Samuel L. Jackson film set to take over Glasgow this week
The set will take over part of the city, and major roads will be closed while the exciting new flick is being shot. The Glasgow Times understands that this is for the new JJ Abrams film Ghostwriter, which will see Samuel L. Jackson join an all-star cast. Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega and Emma Mackey are all rumoured to be involved in the movie. We also understand that filming will concentrate on and inside Glasgow City Chambers and the surrounding area for the "1980s-inspired film". The film is rumoured to follow a fantasy author who reveals that the mythical world he created is real, blending retro sci-fi, mystery, and fantasy. Some roads have been closed since Sunday, June 8, as they prepare to start filming, and some will be closed until June 23. Michael Cera to Make Directorial Debut With LOVE IS NOT THE ANSWER Starring Pamela Anderson and Steve Coogan — GeekTyrant
Michael Cera, known for his roles in Barbie , Superbad , Scott Pilgrim vs the World , and Arrested Development , is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming comedy Love is Not the Answer . So far, the cast includes Pamela Anderson ( The Last Showgirl ), Steve Coogan ( Philomena ), Fred Hechinger ( Gladiator 2 ) and Jamie Dornan ( Belfast ). The plot of the film is being kept under wraps, but it's described as a 'precise yet unpredictable, absurdist comedy that moves between hilarity and heartbreak as it explores modern loneliness and the search for connection.' Love is Not the Answer also teams Cera, who penned the script, with fast-rising hitmakers 2am, led by Christine D'Souza Gelb, David Hinojosa and Kevin Rowe. They are set to launch the project at Cannes Film Festival.
