Nowhere else Kirsty Morrison would rather be than at champions Hibs

Kirsty Morrison has signed a two-year contract extension with Hibernian Women and there is nowhere else she would rather be. The 23-year-old has signed on with Hibs until 2027 after winning the first Scottish Women's Premier League title of her career. Morrison played a key role in Hibs push for the title, scoring four goals in 23 appearances – including a crucial last-minute winner against Glasgow City in the first post-split game of the campaign, as well as starting at Ibrox on the final day. A Hibs Girls Academy graduate, Morrison has been with Hibernian for over a decade and was awarded her senior debut versus Spartans in February 2019 by Grant Scott. The forward showed her class at a young age, netting her first goals for the Club in a convincing win over Forfar Farmington just two months after making her debut. In her first season in senior football, she started the SWPL Cup Final in May 2019 and played 95 minutes as Hibs defeated Glasgow City on penalties in Airdrie to earn her first winners' medal of her career. She now has 136 appearances for the Club and is excited to continue her career in Leith: 'I'm really happy to extend my stay at the club, I've been at the club a long time now and there's nowhere else I'd rather be. 'I'm really excited for what the future holds. After having such a successful season we have a great opportunity to build on that. We also have the opportunity to play in the Champions League which will be a special experience.' On Kirsty's new deal, Hibs Women head coach Grant Scott commented: 'I'm delighted that Kirsty has committed her future to the club. She's another talented academy graduate who brings great experience to our squad despite only being 23. 'Kirsty has developed into a consistent performer over the years and played a key role in this season's title win. On and off the park, her attitude sets a great example for the other young players coming through. 'She's not only a quality footballer but another great person to have in our squad.' Skipper Rachael Boyle ‘delighted' to extend Hibs contract

Rachael Boyle has signed a new one-year deal with Hibernian FC Women, extending her stay at the Club until the end of the 2025/26 season! A prominent leader in the dressing room, the Hibs Women Club Captain has signed on until Summer 2026 after lifting the Scottish Women's Premier League trophy for the first time in her career. Two stints with hometown club Aberdeen, broken up by a spell with Forfar Farmington, led to 'Smally' joining the Hibees in 2016. A key member of several cup-winning Hibs Women squads, Boyle's most memorable triumph came when she captained Hibs to a 4-1 League Cup Final victory over Celtic in 2017 – even scoring the fourth and final goal of the encounter at Broadwood. The 43-time Scotland international has suffered, and continuously rebounded, from serious setbacks in recent years – with injuries keeping Boyle out for the start and the end of this season, restricting the skipper to 14 outings across the 2024/25 campaign. Despite her minutes being limited, the veteran midfielder continued to show her undeniable quality, vital versatility and strong leadership between October and February while playing a key role in Hibs' lengthy unbeaten league run across that time. After signing on for next season, Boyle said: 'I'm absolutely delighted that I'm extending my time at the club. There is no place I would rather be. 'I've obviously had to miss a lot of football over recent years but last season's success, and the excitement building towards the new season, just made me want to be a part of it all. 'I'm desperate to put injuries behind me and be ready to help the team to more success this upcoming season.' On Boyle's new contract, Hibernian FC Women head coach Grant Scott said: 'Despite going through an injury-affected season, every time Rachael was involved in matches, her quality was clear for all to see. 'She's a real leader on and off the pitch and is fully deserving of this new deal. We're all hoping for an injury-free campaign and it'll be great to have her involved in her first full pre-season in a few years. That consistency will be huge for both her and the team.' Hibernian secure SWPL title as Linzi Taylor scores winner at Ibrox

Linzi Taylor said she had lived out a childhood dream after firing Hibernian to a stunning first Scottish Women's Premier League title in 18 years. The Edinburgh side, who finished fifth last term, sealed their surprise triumph by defeating nearest rivals Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox on the final day of the season. Taylor volleyed home the only goal of the game in the 74th minute before Rangers – who needed a win to overhaul the Hibees – had Laura Rafferty sent off in stoppage time. 'I can't believe it,' Taylor told Sky Sports. 'It's the stuff you dream of when you're a wee girl. 'I think a lot of people wrote us off. We're so together, everybody is in it for each other. This isn't just us as a group of players, this is absolutely everybody.' It was Hibs' first title triumph of the professional era and head coach Grant Scott said: 'I'm immensely proud, thrilled to bits. 'From where we started the season to come here to finish the season, it's a complete transformation in how we've performed. 'The togetherness in the group, that galvanisation, we've had a few knocks this year but the group have turned up almost every week.' Rangers' inability to claim the title meant it was a fourth different winner in successive seasons. Gers must now rouse themselves for next Sunday's Scottish Cup final against Glasgow City. Light Blues head coach Jo Potter said: 'Hibs are fully deserved winners. They've been super-consistent over the season and they've done exactly what they've needed to do.' Graham stands down as Partick Thistle Women boss

Partick Thistle have announced that Brian Graham is stepping down as the manager of their women's team - the morning after his men's team were beaten in the Scottish Premiership Play-off semi-final by Livingston. After Friday's second-leg defeat, Graham told BBC Scotland that, if he and interim co-manager Mark Wilson do not stay in their positions on a permanent basis, he is not sure if he can stay at the Championship club. The 37-year-old Graham was appointed boss of the Scottish Women's Premier League team in 2020 while the striker was continuing to play for the men's team - and added the men's management role when Kris Doolan left in February. Graham told Thistle's website: "I made the decision in January that this would be my last season in charge of the girls. I've loved every minute of it, but I felt it was the right time. Asked about his future with the men's team after Friday's 2-0 defeat in West Lothian, Graham had told BBC Scotland: "We were up for the job since day one. I knew stepping out that changing room, I couldn't go back to it. "So, if I don't get the job, can I honestly be at the club? I don't know. "There's a lot of questions need to be asked. I've loved my time at the football club. I don't know what the future holds." Graham was full of praise for his players, who finished the season in fourth place but then defeated third-top Ayr United in their quarter-final play-off before losing 4-0 on aggregate to runners-up Livingston. "We didn't do enough in the first leg," he said. "I thought we were probably the better side [in the second leg].The boys were a credit to the football club, the way they played." Co-manager Wilson admitted is also keen to take the manager's job at Firhill. "A manager needs to be appointed and it's a big decision," he added. Graham will take charge of the women's team for the last time when they face Spartans at Ainslie Park on Sunday. During his time as manager, he has overseen promotion to the top flight and had two top-six finishes, reached the Scottish Cup semi-final and the Sky Sports Cup final.

Cr: SNS Group. | SNS Group A straight shootout between the two top teams in the division, Rangers enter the game just three points behind Grant Scott's league leaders, but with a significantly better goal difference. The task is simple, if Rangers win the game they win the league. As for Hibs, they must simply avoid defeat. It is Hibs who are in pole position though, with a monumental campaign seeing them upset the odds by leading the table going into the final day. Despite being Scottish women's football's second most successful club, it would be their first title win since 2007 if they can pick up a result of any kind in Glasgow at the weekend.
