This NI restaurant has a wine you can't get anywhere else… why? Because they had a hand in making it
'Creating our own wine was kind of a crazy thing to do when you sit back and think about it,' admits Umi's Sean Lafferty If you take a quick scan down most restaurant wine lists, there'll often be a familiar name or two among the suggestions. But there's one restaurant where the most interesting bottle on offer is a wine practically no one will recognise. That's because this restaurant is the only place where you can get it. And I really do mean the only place. The restaurant in question is called Umi, a bustling bistro about five minutes' walk from Derry's Guildhall that serves cutting-edge sushi and Asian-inspired small plates. The imaginative menu is obviously the main attraction for customers that pack out the place most nights, but there's also that wine. It's called Rainbow Pie, and what makes it so special — apart from the fact that you can't get it anywhere else — is that the people behind Umi actually had a hand in making it.

Meteorologist Tom Atkins celebrates 30 years with JET 24/FOX 66
Congratulations to our very own Meteorologist Tom Atkins celebrating his 30th anniversary with us at WJET/WFXP! We want to thank our Best of Erie 2024 'Best TV Personality' for everything he has done for us these past three decades, all the accomplishments he has made and for helping lead Erie's only team of meteorologists! Thanks for all you do and we look forward to what's ahead! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! On this date in 1995 years ago the 49ers beat the Chargers in Super Bowl 29. It was broadcast on JET-TV and when it was over I joined Sean Lafferty and Brian Duffy for my first weathercast on Action News. Probably the best career decision I've made. Thanks to the late great Myron Jones and John Kanzius for the job and here we are 30 years later. Thanks to Tommy D. for the years spent with him as we became buddies for life. And thanks to all the staff in front of the camera and behind the scenes for welcoming me and helping me along these past 3 decades. I wanted to me a meteorologist since I was in first grade because I found out that if it snowed hard enough (my favorite type of weather), you could get a day off from school. So I am blessed to live in Erie and although the lake humbles me on a daily basis, it fits the snow bill and of course I love the changing weather 4 seasons that this area provides. But thanks most of all to you, the audience who have supported me, weathered some nasty storms with me and welcomed me into your homes, schools, clubs, churches and organizations. I couldn't have done it without you and I would love to continue with to serve you with this great group of people, our weather team with Craig Flint and Jacob Matthews, and everyone at this great television station for years to come!
