Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Peters join Seawolves ownership group
In a bit of Seattle Seahawks-adjacent news, former franchise great Marshawn Lynch finds himself back in the local headlines for yet another incredible reason. Lynch, as well as former Washington Huskies defensive back Marcus Peters, are becoming investors/owners in the Seattle Seawolves rugby team!
The news was broken by ESPN's Adam Schefter, who is additionally reported the two Seattle sports icons will be engaging in activities to help expand the sport to young kids in the region.
Ever since hanging his cleats up, Lynch has been involved in various business ventures and has remained involved in the Pacific Northwest. His attendance at Seahawks, Kraken and Mariners sporting events is a common occurrence, including calming head coach Mike Macdonald down during his first game with Seattle.
As for Marcus Peters, it is wonderful seeing him return to the Emerald City as a role model. Things weren't always smooth sailing for Peters while he played football in Seattle. During his final college season, the Huskies dismissed him from the team due to disciplinary reasons. However, he turned it around and went on to have a prolific NFL career from 2015-2023 across four teams, earning two All-Pro nods and three trips to the Pro Bowl.
Getting involved with the Seawolves is not foreign ground for Lynch and Peters, who have been founders and executives for the FCF Beasts - a professional indoor football team.
