‘Kaha Se Aate Hai Ye Log?' Saree-Clad Woman Sits Atop Tree In Bizarre Viral Video

The dramatic visual was deeply unsettling, more so because the tree where the woman sat was swaying dangerously. How far can you go for an Instagram reel to reach millions of views? From dancing on moving trains to recording oneself at the edge of a cliff, some people really take it too far, risking their lives just for some likes and comments. In a similar display of absurdity, a woman has grabbed attention online for executing a bizarre stunt. It involves her sitting atop a leafless tree and calling herself 'pedo ki rani (the queen of trees)." The video of the same was posted by the woman on her Instagram handle, sparking mixed reactions. The woman was seen perched on the bare branches of a tree, clad in a red saree. Rolling hills and a distant townscape featured in the backdrop. While the exact height of the tree was unclear from the video, it appeared to be towering. The dramatic visual was deeply unsettling, more so because the tree where the woman sat was swaying dangerously. Not to forget, her choice of outfit added to the risk. One misstep and the situation could turn into a tragedy in a matter of seconds. The video opened to the woman acting as if she were the queen of trees. She said, 'Mai pedo ki rani aur itni jaldi khatam nahi hogi meri kahani. Senapati, jake rajya mei ghoshna kardo ki paedo ki sirf ekhi rani, maharani hai. Kuynki koi bhi pedo par apna hak nahi bana skta. Pedo par sirf mera haq mai. Inke suraksha karne ka dwaitta sirf mera hai. Aj chali hun mai shuru karne apni intekaam ki kahan. (I'm the queen of trees, and my story won't end so easily. General, go announce across the kingdom that there is only one queen—one empress—of the trees. Because no one else can claim authority over them. The trees belong to me alone. The responsibility of protecting them lies solely with me. Today, I set out to begin the story of my revenge." The internet had lots to say about the video. One user called the woman a 'Branch manager." 'Agle Bahubali mei tumhe hi cast krenge (You will be cast in the next Bahubali movie)," wrote another. 'Pedo ki rani, neeche giri toh khatam kahani (Queen of trees, if you fall your story will end)" joked one person. A social media user questioned, 'Kaha se aate hai ye log?" An individual pointed out that the woman was trying to send the message 'to protect trees and forest around us". 'All jokes apart, this seems to be a very risky place to sit like shaking the entire tree for the effect. Also, even if this is just an illusion and the tree is very close to the ground, a fall from it can still lead to injuries. Funny video though," commented a concerned person. So far, the video has received over 14.2 million views. Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: July 22, 2025, 13:44 IST News viral 'Kaha Se Aate Hai Ye Log?' 'Save me': Man recounts harrowing 90 minutes as girl, set ablaze, knocked on his door; calls for justice

NEW DELHI: The man, who saved the 15-year-old girl from Odisha's Puri district after she was set ablaze by unidentified men, recounted the harrowing 90 minutes after she knocked on his door, screaming for help, "save me, save me. " A 15-year-old girl, allegedly set on fire by three masked men in Odisha's Puri district, was transferred to AIIMS New Delhi, where she remains in stable condition with 70-75%burn injuries. The class 9 dropout was walking to a relative's home around 8.30am Saturday when she was reportedly intercepted near a river embankment, rendered unconscious by a chemical-lacedcloth, and doused with kerosene before being set ablaze. Screaming for help, she fled to a nearby house, where Dukshishyam Senapati extinguished the flames and gave her fresh clothes. 'Girl was on fire and screaming in pain' Recalling the harrowing moment, Senapati said that when he answered his door, he was stunned to find the girl engulfed in flames and crying in agony, as he later explained to DGP YB Khurania during the official's site visit. "It was around 8.30 am when the girl came to my house, screaming. With the help of my wife, I doused the fire and gave her water as she was very thirsty. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Later, the women of my family changed her clothes," he said. Upon questioning, the girl informed Senapati that three unidentified men had set her ablaze. She explained being abducted by motorcycle-riding assailants whilst returning from meeting a friend. "She said she was walking back home after meeting a friend when she was picked up by three men who arrived on motorcycles. The faces of these men were half-covered, and they took her to a place near the Bhargavi riverbank. She could not tell their names. She could only say that they covered her face with a handkerchief and poured some substance before setting her on fire," he said. Senapati noticed that although the girl mentioned being bound during the abduction, her hands were free when she arrived. After learning her father's details, he contacted her family. The large crowd that gathered prevented further conversation with the victim. Despite searching the area, Senapati couldn't locate the perpetrators. He explained that the attackers fled after setting her alight, presumably expecting her to perish. However, the girl managed to escape and reach his house. Due to delayed ambulance response, they resorted to an auto rickshaw for hospital transport. The girl remained at his residence for approximately 90 minutes. The incident has created fear in the village, particularly among children who are now afraid to venture out alone. Senapati urged swift arrest of the culprits.

Puri Teen Set Afire Ran With Hands Tied, Mouth Gagged, Witness Tells NDTV

Puri: The 15-year-old girl set on fire in Odisha's Puri yesterday was running on the road as the flames burned her skin away. Her hands were tied and her mouth gagged as she ran through a neighbourhood, her eyes screaming for help. Dukhishyam Senapati, an eyewitness who helped douse the flames and contacted the girl's family, recounted the horrifying sight he witnessed in an interview with NDTV. "The girl was on fire when she came running towards my house. Her hands were tied and she had suffered serious burns. My wife, daughter and I doused the flames and gave her new clothes. Then, I spoke to her. She told me she lived in a nearby village." Asked if he had heard any screams before he spotted the girl, he said the criminals had tied up the girl's hands and gagged her mouth. "We heard nothing. She was gagged, and her hands were tied. She told me that three men on two bikes forcibly brought her here, poured kerosene and set her on fire," he said. According to the preliminary investigation, three men on a bike waylaid the girl, forcibly took her to a riverbank and then set her on fire. The girl somehow managed to escape the clutches of the criminals and started running; she was still on fire. The criminals fled the spot and are on the run. The girl has suffered 70 per cent burns and was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for treatment. Mr Senapati said the girl was in a lot of pain and could only tell him that three men had set her on fire. "I also went and looked around for the attackers, but they had fled. I then contacted the girl's family and called the police. We then took her to the nearby community health centre from where she was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar," he said. The shocking incident in Puri follows the self-immolation of a college student in Odisha's Balasore district to protest sexual assault by a faculty member and inaction by the college authorities. The Balasore student died of her severe burn injuries. The Puri teen was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for better treatment today. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena told the media that a green corridor was emptied to take the patient from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to the Biju Patnaik International Airport. The ambulance covered the 11 km distance within 12 minutes and an air ambulance flew her to the national capital. "The patient's condition is stable, and her blood pressure, which was low yesterday, has improved. It's safe to transfer her," AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Ashutosh Biswas told reporters before her departure. The girl can speak now and police have recorded her statement and stepped up their investigation. Her mother has registered a complaint, in which she has said the teen had dropped out of school and her father is a motor mechanic. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi has said he is "deeply saddened" by the Puri incident and that he would pray to Lord Jagannath for the girl's speedy recovery. The Opposition BJD has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government. Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said this incident has taken place within a week of the Balasore tragedy. "Such unthinkable incidents against women are now being reported almost daily across Odisha. These are not stray cases of violence. These incidents occurring with shocking regularity point to a deep systemic failure of governance. It shows that criminals have become emboldened under the present government and are not worried about being punished. It shows how Odisha is becoming highly unsafe for women due to government inaction and political patronage," he said. "Will the Odisha Govt wake up from this deep slumber and take speedy action so that the criminals are arrested? And more importantly will the government respond so that such incidents are not repeated? The girls and women of Odisha await a response," Mr Patnaik added.

8 dengue cases reported in city in last 10 days

1 2 Bhubaneswar: As the monsoon entered the state, dengue started making its presence felt in the capital city. Eight dengue cases were reported from the city in the last 10 days, taking the total number of cases to 23 from Jan 1 this year. Out of these, five cases were reported from the biggest slum of the state, Salia Sahi, and two cases each from Lingaraj Temple area and Sailashree Vihar. To tackle this, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the health department started awareness drives and source reduction exercises across the city. Additional district urban public health officer (ADUPHO) Nilamani Senapati said they started awareness drives in hotspot areas like Salia Sahi to sensitise people about this vector-borne disease. "We asked for funds from BMC to deploy volunteers for the awareness programme," he added. He said an anti-larval team comprising three members was deployed in each ward to reduce the sources of breeding of Aedes mosquitoes that spread dengue. "We will sensitise schools and other educational institutions about destroying these breeding sources," he added. This year's monsoon is favourable for dengue due to the nature of rain and the humidity associated with it. "We saw that abandoned materials on rooftops of people are creating breeding sources of mosquitoes apart from indoor sources. People should try to clean their rooftops so that the abandoned materials do not store rainwater," he added. "A sudden spike in dengue cases can be seen in Bhubaneswar after cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru report large number of cases. Odias staying there come home for affordable treatment in the state and stay among their relatives for better emotional support. Then the number of dengue cases increases here," said Senapati. Last year, 9,892 dengue cases were reported in the state against 12,845 cases in 2023. So far, Odisha reported 76 dengue cases this year.
