September 21 University launches Virtual Dissection Table & CBCT Imaging System
Sana'a - SABA: Dr. Mujahid Ma'sar, President of September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences, inaugurated the operation of an advanced smart virtual dissection table today - a qualitative leap in the university's medical education capabilities. During the ceremony attended by Vice Presidents for Graduate Studies Dr. Salem Al-Riyashi and Student Affairs Dr. Jameel Mujalli, College of Medicine Dean Dr. Salwa Al-Ghumairi demonstrated the 3D digital dissection table's capabilities in teaching anatomy, embryology, histology, physiology, and pathology. The university president also launched a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) system at the College of Dentistry. Dental Dean Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Khawlani highlighted this cutting-edge 3D imaging technology's diagnostic advantages for oral and maxillofacial applications, noting its role in enhancing clinical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Parliament official oversees medical, dental entrance exams at September 21 University
Sana'a – Saba: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abdulsalam Hashoul on Wednesday inspected the entrance and competitive examinations for the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry at September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences for the upcoming academic year. Hashoul, accompanied by the university president, Dr. Mujahid Measar, and his deputies, received an overview from the deans of the respective faculties, Dr. Salwa al-Ghamiri (Medicine) and Dr. Abdulwahab al-Khawlani (Dentistry), regarding the admission process. This year, 1,092 students are vying for 60 places in the Faculty of Medicine, while 188 students are competing for 30 seats in the Faculty of Dentistry. Drs. al-Ghamiri and al-Khawlani explained that the competitive exams in Chemistry, Biology, and English are conducted with clear and transparent criteria, and the results are announced on the same day. The Deputy Speaker and university officials also reviewed the university's progress over the past five years, noting the expansion of laboratories, classrooms, infrastructure, and academic and administrative staff. Hashoul toured the university's facilities, including Building 2 and the advisory clinic complex, and learned about the community services provided. Dr. Measar detailed the university's growth from five colleges and programs to nine colleges, 20 undergraduate programs, and six diploma programs. The faculty has grown significantly, with 415 members compared to the initial 34, and teaching assistants now number 150, up from 40. The Deputy Speaker commended September 21 University's rapid achievements and its qualitative development in scientific research. He emphasized its establishment "out of suffering" to enhance medical education in Yemen and praised the dedication of the university's leadership and staff under the ongoing challenges. September 21 university concludes sixth scientific conference
Sana'a - Saba: The Sixth Scientific Conference of September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences, and the second to discuss graduation research of the second batch of students from the College of Medicine, concluded on Monday with a series of recommendations. Support immunization campaigns to reduce infectious diseases among children, publish all student research and implement the college's research plan, make medical statistics a mandatory course for all medical students, and provide training courses in basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, support health education programs focusing on breastfeeding, sterilization, blood transfusion, and reducing the rate of cesarean sections, provide support to kidney and heart centers and raise awareness about autism, provide studies, services, and preventive measures to combat rabies.
