Drugs bust sees six arrested during joint operation with organised crime
Five men and a woman were due to appear in court on Friday. Six people have been arrested and charged as part of a long-running investigation into the supply of controlled drugs in Scotland. The joint investigation between the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Police Scotland saw the recent search of several industrial units in the Glasgow, Stewarton, Paisley and Hamilton areas. As a result, five men and a woman were arrested at addresses around Glasgow and Coatbridge on Wednesday, May 28 and Thursday, May 29, by officers from the Organised Crime Partnership Scotland. The individuals were all questioned before being charged. They were due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, May 30. NCA Regional Head of Investigations Philip Marshall said: 'These arrests are the culmination of a long-running operation into a group suspected of being involved in the supply of controlled drugs. 'The NCA will continue to work closely with our partners in Police Scotland to protect the public from the risks associated with illegal drugs and target those who are believed to manufacture or supply them. Arrests after drugs worth more than £200,000 seized in Aberdeen
Three people have been arrested and charged after drugs, namely heroin and cocaine with a street value exceeding £200,000, were recovered in Aberdeen. Police carried out search warrants at three properties in the Peterculter and Woodside areas on the morning of Friday May 23. A 27-year-old man and two women, aged 25 and 26, were arrested and charged in connection with the seizures. They are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday May 26. The operation was intelligence-led and part of a broader crackdown on serious organised crime in the North East. Police Scotland said inquiries are ongoing. Detective Inspector John Pirie said: 'These seizures highlight our ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy. Two women and man charged after heroin and cocaine worth £200,000 seized
Two women and a man have been charged after heroin and cocaine worth £200,000 was seized in a raid in Aberdeen. Police executed search warrants at three properties in the Peterculter and Woodside areas of the city on Friday morning. Three charged after £124,000 of cannabis and cocaine recovered in raids
Three people have been charged after £124,00 worth of cannabis and cocaine was recovered in two raids. Police executed warrants at two addresses in Stevenston and Kilwinning on May 13, where a cannabis cultivation worth up to £120,000 and £4,000 worth of cocaine were discovered, respectively. A 24-year-old man at the first address, a 42-year-old man, and a 38-year-old woman at the second, were arrested and charged. The recoveries are not believed to be linked. Detective inspector Jamie Carruth said: 'These seizures highlight our ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and protect those in our communities affected by illegal drugs. Police made the seizure and three arrests following two unconnected raids in Stevenston and Kilwinning yesterday, Tuesday, May 13 Drugs worth more than £120,000 have been seized and three people arrested and charged following two unconnected raids in Ayrshire. Police raided two properties in North Ayrshire yesterday, Tuesday, May 13, as part of ongoing action to tackle and disrupt the supply of illegal drugs. In the Misk Knowes area of Stevenston, police discovered a cannabis cultivation which contained plants with a potential street value of up to £120,000. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and he is expected to appear at court on today, Wednesday, May 14. In an unconnected raid, police discovered cocaine with an estimated street value of around £4,000 at a property on Byrehill Place in Kilwinning. A 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection and they are expected to appear at court at a later date. Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said: 'These seizures highlight our ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and protect those in our communities affected by illegal drugs.
