Iraq unearths six mass graves in al-Anbar
Shafaq News/ Iraq has finished excavating six mass graves in al-Anbar province, uncovering remains of victims executed during various periods of violence, the Martyrs Foundation reported on Monday. The graves, located in the Al-Jam'iyah neighborhood of al-Saqlawiyah, contained dozens of victims killed under Saddam Hussein's regime, as well as during al-Qaeda and ISIS control in the area, the foundation stated, adding that DNA tests will be conducted using samples from families of the missing to confirm identities. 'Once verified, remains will be returned to relatives for burial.' The foundation also confirmed that legal documents, including forensic reports and seizure records, will be submitted to Iraqi courts to trigger official investigations. According to the Martyrs Foundation and UN reports, Iraq has identified more than 200 mass grave sites, many from the Baath era. These include graves from the 1988 Anfal campaign against Kurds, the 1991 Shaaban uprising, and crackdowns on political opponents in the 1980s. After 2003, new waves of violence emerged, particularly by extremist groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIS. Among the most notorious incidents were the 2014 massacre of Yazidis in Sinjar and the execution of more than 1,700 Iraqi cadets at Camp Speicher.

In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian citizen was killed and five others were injured in the shelling of a tent near the city of Asdaa, north of Khan Younis. The shelling of a tent in the Al-Fajm neighborhood in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, resulted in five injuries. The shelling of a tent near the Bank of Palestine in the town of Bani Suhaila also resulted in the death of a Palestinian citizen and the injury of six others. A Palestinian citizen was killed by Israeli enemy fire in the Al-Mawasi area, southwest of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Over the past 24 hours, 11 martyrs were admitted to Nasser Hospital, while the Israeli army continued to destroy residential areas in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli Airstrikes Target School Shelter in Gaza, Leaving Martyrs, Numerous Injuries
Israeli occupation forces launched a series of airstrikes on Wednesday, targeting civilian areas in Gaza City and resulting in numerous casualties, including three confirmed martyrs and many injured at a residential site. The most catastrophic incident occurred at the Yaffa School, which was sheltering displaced individuals, where ten martyrs were reported and countless others wounded due to the bombardment. Local reports indicate that the shelling struck the Shaaban family home on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia al-Balad, further compounding the tragedy. Civil defense units worked tirelessly to extinguish fires at the school and rescue those trapped beneath the rubble, although they faced significant challenges amidst ongoing hostilities. Families, including the Al-Sharbasi and Al-Jalis clans, called out for help as they remained trapped under the debris of their destroyed homes. Many victims remain buried under rubble and inaccessible due to a stringent blockade, which has severely hampered rescue efforts and the delivery of essential supplies. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has raised alarms over the destruction of vital municipal machinery, which has halted waste removal and recovery operations, exacerbating the psychological distress among families already suffering the loss of loved ones. The continued aggression in Gaza highlights the urgent need for humanitarian intervention and support for the affected population.

Israel turns 13 neighborhoods into settlements to accelerate changes on Palestinian geography
Ramallah - Saba: Minister Mu'ayyad Shaaban, head of the Palestinian Commission for Resistance of the Wall and Settlements, stated that the Israeli enemy's decision last night to convert 13 colonial neighborhoods into settlements with full privileges and services is a new step targeting Palestinian geography with tampering and fragmentation. Shaaban explained in a statement issued today, Sunday, and reported by the Palestinian News Agency "WAFA" that the Israeli entity has decided to separate a group of colonial neighborhoods affiliated with the settlements and consider them separate settlements, in a new step that will strengthen settler colonialism in the Palestinian territories. Shaaban explained that these neighborhoods are located four of them in the Ramallah Governorate, specifically next to the Talmon settlement, and four others in the Bethlehem Governorate, while two neighborhoods are located in the Salfit Governorate, one in Nablus, one in Jericho, and the last in Tubas. He added that most of these neighborhoods were established as illegal colonial outposts two decades ago, and then The Israeli entity undertook the task of transforming them into neighborhoods, in clear circumvention of international law and the international position rejecting colonial construction. "At the time, the Israeli entity avoided announcing the construction of new settlements, claiming they were neighborhoods and aimed at addressing the natural growth of the settlers. However, these days, the occupying entity is revealing its true intention and real goal of building settlements, in favor of expansion and the appropriation of more land, and the elimination of the possibility of geographical contiguity between the Palestinian villages and towns in these areas." Shaaban said, "Most of the thirteen colonial neighborhoods that the Israeli entity transformed into existing settlements have, as of today, been included in the official lists of the Authority as settlements, not neighborhoods, a clear indication of the true objectives behind them, at the expense of Palestinian land." "The far-right government, which declared from the first day of its formation that colonialism would be a top priority, has continued since the first day to implement plans to control Palestinian lands, clearly declaring its intention to implement annexation plans, impose sovereignty, and fragment Palestinian geography, in clear and blatant defiance of all international laws that criminalize such behavior." He called on the international community to intervene clearly, genuinely, and effectively to punish the Israeli entity for its violations and defiance of international resolutions, the most recent of which was the high-level advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding the status of the occupation and colonial expansion, in addition to Security Council Resolution 2334 regarding the illegality of colonialism and the invalidity of its facts on the ground.
