According to the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections, during the municipal election for the Laurel Hill City Council, Amanda Rosen was elected to the council with 25 votes, while Shawn Cogan and Mike Blizzard tied with 22 votes.
A manual recount of the votes revealed that the candidates were, in fact, tied, so they agreed to draw lots.
Each candidate selected tags. One was marked, 'elected' on it; the other tag said, 'defeated.' Cogan instantly won the tiebreaker.
