Rachel Zegler calls the past year 'neither good nor bad' in cryptic post as she quietly marks a milestone

Rachel Zegler took to Instagram on Friday to share a collection of photos as she marked her 24th birthday. The actress, who was looked over for a Tony Award nomination, engaged her audience of 2.5 million with her post. She captioned the images, which included song lyrics referencing her age, '23 was neither good nor bad but a secret third thing. anyways i turn 24 today.' Among the pictured was a mirror selfie featuring the Snow White actress in an ab-baring blue sports bra. She sported messy hair while winking at the camera and flashing a thumbs up. Rachel will next star in the comedy-drama She Gets It From Me, alongside veteran actress Marisa Tomei. She captioned the images, '23 was neither good nor bad but a secret third thing. anyways i turn 24 today' Zegler's photo dump also included a selfie taken in a hospital bed. Multiple wires were hooked up on her chest and torso, but she seemed to be okay as she stuck her tongue out in the picture. The silver screen siren's no-context pictures continued with a snapshot of her in a mauve dress and huge, pink, platform heels. In another frame she modeled a bright orange maxi dress, pairing it with sporty white sneakers. Her dog also appeared twice in the post, including a black and white video clip showing it licking her face. The post has so far been liked more than 230,000 times, with fans and friends leaving their birthday wishes in the comments. Rachel was snubbed this week as Tony nominations were announced and she did not make the list for her role in the Broadway revival of Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet.. She missed out on a Best Actress nod, while Sadie Sink, Sarah Snook, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Laura Donnelly and Mia Farrow all earned nods. One month ago Danica Patrick took a swipe at Rachel's Snow White flop as the remake continued to record low box office numbers. The former race car driver and model, 43, shared video critical of the Disney picture as Rachel. Originally posted by the Instagram account Irrelevant News, she captioned the post, 'Bye bye,' according to an account from Us Weekly, making her the latest celebrity to insert herself in the movie's backlash. Though Snow White debuted at No. 1 following its March 31 release, the Jason Statham thriller A Working Man took over its top spot a week later. Amid the movie's press tour, it was speculated that there was a behind-the-scenes clash between Rachel and her co-star Gal Gadot. It was believed to be over their opposing views on the yearslong Israeli-Palestinian conflict; Gadot is notably from Israel.

Rachel Zegler to Star Alongside Marisa Tomei in Movie "She Gets It From Me"

Yara Sameh Rachel Zegler has lined her first film after 'Snow White' and is set to play the daughter of Marisa Tomei's wild-living mother in the comedy drama 'She Gets It From Me.' The film is directed by Julia von Heinz ('Treasure' and Germany's 2021 Oscar submission 'And Tomorrow the Entire World'), with Embankment launching global pre-sales in Cannes. Based on a true story, 'She Gets It From Me' follows Nicky (Zegler), whose engagement celebration turns into a search for her pill-popping, ex-punk rocker birth mother, Charlotte (Tomei). Together, the two embark on an anarchic mother-and-daughter journey to reconnect. The film's synopsis reads: 'YouTube is packed with tearful family reunions, but nobody films the messy aftermath.' 3311 Productions ('The Assistant,' 'Brigsby Bear,' 'Table 19') produces in partnership with Anna Werner for Seven Elephants ('And Tomorrow the Entire World,' 'Sun and Concrete,' 'Treasure') and Jay Reiss (Tony Award winning 'The Twenty Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,' 'The Oranges'), who also wrote the script. Embankment Films handles international sales with CAA representing U.S. rights. 'The emotional truth of the movie, reflecting parts of all our lives, is truly funny, immersive cinema,' said von Heinz. 'Jay's screenplay captures family dynamics at their most authentic: absurd yet profound, messy yet meaningful. The collision of two worlds creates comedy that cuts deep because it's so honest.' Added producer Jen Dana from 3311: 'Rachel always brings a brilliant depth and humanity to her roles, and we are so excited for her to continue to showcase her versatility and humor as an actress.' Zegler has been on a steep trajectory since breaking out in Steven Spielberg's 'West Side Story' adaptation (for which she won a Golden Globe), appearing in 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes' and, most recently, as the famed princess in the live-action 'Snow White.' Rachel Zegler prepares for comeback with first movie since Snow White flop as fans share mixed reactions

is set to star in her first movie since Snow White bombed in the box office. Though the Disney remake has been widely considered a flop, the 23-year-old actress has already lined up her comeback and will be starring opposite Marisa Tomei, 60, of My Cousin Vinny fame in her next movie role. In the upcoming comedy-drama titled She Gets It From Me, Zegler will play the daughter of the Oscar-winning actress's wild, unruly and free-spirited character, according to the synopsis reported by Variety on Wednesday. Meanwhile, her onscreen adversary Gal Gadot, who played the Evil Queen in Snow White, is also moving on from the controversies as she was seen filming for her new thriller film over the weekend. She Gets It From Me 'follows Nicky (Zegler), whose engagement celebration turns into a search for her pill-popping, ex-punk rocker birth mother Charlotte (Tomei)', per the outlet. 'Together, the two embark on an anarchic mother-and-daughter journey to reconnect after being estranged.' The synopsis reads: 'YouTube is packed with tearful family reunions, but nobody films the messy aftermath.' The forthcoming film, directed by Julia von Heinz, is based on a true story. Since the reporting, many fans have reacted to Zegler's new project following her portrayal of the famed princess in the live-action remake of Disney's Snow White. The movie, which saw Zegler star opposite Gal Gadot's Evil Queen, continues to tank at the box office and has been branded as the worst-performing film in Disney's history. Many of Zegler's fans showed their support for the actress as they praised her for staying 'booked and busy.' The Snow White remake was heavily hyped up until its release, however, it has faced a string of controversies after Zegler's controversial comments about the original cartoon film. In 2022, she called the original movie dated and 'weird' and compared the prince to a 'stalker.' Zegler has also come under fire for her political comments, which fans speculated had sparked a real-life feud between her and her co-star Gadot as they did not do interviews together amid the limited press tour.
