Police arrest man for sexually assaulting minor girl

Kochi: Eloor police on Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old man for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The arrested person was identified as Sankar from Theni, Tamil Nadu, who is currently residing at Pathalam, Eloor. Police said that after learning that police have filed a case against him, Sankar fled to his native place. However, police identified his hiding place by tracing his tower location. A team, including sub-inspector Shejilkumar, assistant sub-inspector Antony and civil police officers Jijo and Biju, arrested him in Theni. Man held for attempted murder: Police on Tuesday arrested a 47-year-old man who allegedly attempted to stab and kill his neighbour. The arrested person was identified as Dileep Kumar of Eloor. Police said the attack was in retaliation for the neighbour filing a police complaint against him earlier following a dispute. The accused allegedly trespassed into the neighbour's property with a knife, verbally abused him and inflicted a head injury.
